  1. I am wondering if there could be a possibility of channeling of monies for favoritism. The White Angelo Saxon Protestants aka WASPS of which most of America was founded on, had a high belief in nepotism, which I am wondering might have turned into favoritism. As far as color of skin, there are supremacist's of all colors all over the world - the ones with the money and the weapons. However, I don't want to dilute this issue but I think most oppression comes from money and the ones with the guns or the power. As far as natural, what does a white skin say as a way to survive? I can't think of any other than the American ideal of it may be money.
  2. I see, Luna. The black cats have 50% Leukemia while the white cats have 25% Leukemia. That explanation is per capita for dummies, like me, but it's very understandable.
  3. I don't know if people are really doing it intentionally because I have never come across per capita graphs before. This is my first time reading them. I've just been an office worker, secretary. In my off time, an artist. But, here I was thinking. Let's make all the people Green and Blue. Okay, now let's say, 90% of the population is Green and 10% of the population is Blue. And, let's use COVID-19 as an example here for the Green and Blue people. Now if you take a 90% to 10%, wouldn't that graph show more COVID-19 cases among the Blue people because the number for the Green people is greater and may be subject to dilution once divided per 100,000? I am sort of understanding it but I don't quite understand in regards to dilution upon dividing the numbers? Okay, let me explain further. Let's say there is 50% Green people and 50% Blue people, this would show me what is outstanding if say the Green people had 40% death from COVID-19 and the Blue people had 10% death from COVID-19. There must be some kind of 50/50 in the per capita formula I am not understanding.
  4. Yeah, that's better than by millions and without knowing what the population is. Thanks!
  5. Luna, I don't quite understand this per capita thing. And, no I'm not being prejudiced, I just don't understand it so I need help with understanding it. Okay, so let's say since there are more whites as compared to blacks, then, because there are more whites compared to blacks, the dividing of such by million is showing what? In other words, since there are more whites, dividing by million would be more spread out because there are more millions (of whites). So, I guess I need to know the percentage of the ethnic groups of the population to really understand. Sorry, my example might be crummy but if there are more millions of whites, the number will appear less simply because there are a lot more millions and it has to be diluted, thus 12 is not valid.
  6. LOL, when you go into your next post, that the press killed George Floyd for excitement? And, then I don't know what you are going on about Democrats especially when you say private funding is my "mysterious" conspiracy. Grow up. Sorry, Mom moment there. I think you could use a little parenting.
  7. I'm sure it happens. I'm sure it happens to women in power too. The dominant white male society and sometimes dominant white male Protestant society is still here but it has diminished, especially in multi-ethnic communities. Where I've grown up it's been pretty respectful all around. I'd have to try to see into an environment I did not grow up in as I never witnessed any disrespect except perhaps from antiquated men and their ideas but not even overly prevalent in men. As far as in past, I've had friends tell me of situations where they were oppressed or called names and/or kept in silence as in some countries women are not allowed to speak unless spoken too. It's just still here on this Earth. But, I wanna know what the heck the police are doing here in this matter. add: Just wanted to share very quickly and then I have to go - the Mayor of Ferguson Missouri, Ella Jones, has said it is time to sit down at the table and have a talk with the police and she doesn't plan to sugarcoat anything. She's going for the truth.
  8. It's pretty good except that society has overcome many of those, such as female black mayor's such as Leila Foley and the newly elected Mayor of Ferguson, Missouri, Ella Jones. And, as far as my ex black bf's black wife, she was Deen of a College. And, I know of people of all colors and even First Gen American's from India who are doctors. There are all kinds of equal opportunities in multi-ethnic communities...just all kinds. What are the policies in place today that deny blacks equal opportunity? However, regarding practices, some of those seem to be here in this matter with racial profiling and the police. What is their problem? What is the police's problem? Not all police, of course, it can never be all. But, what is their problem - the police?
  9. Your first sentence makes me wonder about the police though because they deliberately do racial profiling under a system that is paid and then that system includes also systemic racism, meaning it comes from a system - a paid system. So, I'd see it separate from society of just average ordinary working folks who aren't paid because most don't do systemic racism as many of us work together, live in communities together. Do you know what the exact definition of systemic racism is? Your second sentence sounds like the main reason is possibly hate based or delusional.
  10. Would you like to show the record of where the monies for the private funding came from to the people for public record? If you can't, I remain skeptical. Private money, it's sound like a secret door to "favoritism" as well as bribery. Favoritism could be the root cause of systemic racism in the police force. I am fairly sure favoritism for money exists and I do not believe you can prove otherwise. I do not see a reason to single out a skin color other than because of some type of money. I just don't. What would be the reason for systemic racism to exist all on it's own for no reason. I think there is money involved for favoritism because when you look at skin color, a white skin is no better than any other skin. So, I think there is money involved otherwise what would be the reason? We are all pretty much all the same just people with families; our main differences only cultural. So, then what is the reason for systemic racism if not favoritism through a channeling of money? Channeling of money is usually the fuel for favoritism. So, the money is channeling from where into the law enforcement agencies?
  11. 1) It's some kind of qualified immunity that the police decided for themselves in the 1870's or something like that. I'm just using my term because it is like a silence order. 2) What? 3) Police in America receive money from Federal and State grants as well as through private funding. 3b) Who is giving that private funding? And, for what reasons? It's an unknown. Sounds like opening the door to bribery of all kinds to me.
  12. I couldn't agree more. But, will anything change beyond this incident? What if it goes back into the same old pattern of cover-ups say after a few years? What if jurors are scared to go up against the police? I'm sure that is the reason many cops have "walked" before. Fear. Fear that exists in a juror's mind. You don't have to answer Ceka, I'm just processing thoughts about all this but I remain pessimistic for the great hall if things aren't changed in The Bill of Rights for example or something more concrete. The only thing more concrete talked and tossed around right now is a way to hold police more accountable and/or to offer monetary damages. Who gives a dammmm about monetary damages if their loved one is dead. I'm hanging in there with you all though!
  13. I feel like I could use some plants, Bree. Perhaps it's too see things growing again and a reminder of life. As far as COVID-19 and venting about it, I'm confused about the talk of a second wave. From the charts and sparse news, it doesn't seem like the first wave is even over yet. I worry about the protesters and I worry about people on buses having to go back to work. I think I'm worrying too much. Don't know what to do about all the worry though.
  14. Sweet Thing has some hybrid items you might like. Sweet Thing, the one that is not the Gacha store.
  15. I've been thinking of this issue regarding blacks and the police, but sadly, I'm beginning to feel like Ashlyn that it won't change. Why do I feel so defeated, it's because how can we over-turn silence orders that exist in the police departments? I know there are good police and bad police but silence orders can we really over-turn that? I read an article about the up and coming prosecution of George Floyd's killer and the attorney speaking in that article said she feels he may get off and her reason was that jury's tend to believe cops. But, further I'm thinking, this is on film? Wouldn't a jury see the film? I haven't watched the film on George Floyd as I am squeamish about violence and tend to not watch anything with violence in it. But, still, the attorney is pessimistic about any kind of real conviction. Also, if police departments can receive private monies, isn't that a form of bribery? If bribery exists here, I think the people of the United States have a very serious problem on their hands. A very serious problem if this involves bribery. Who are we kidding? We cannot accuse a silenced organization of bribery as we'd have no proof. That kind of money exchange is too secretive. I feel like Ashlyn, how can we really go up against this kind of corruption and win?
  16. I hope so, Innula! As something needs to be done more than protesting or talking on forums...this problem needs amendment, not talk. As far as the police having immunity for crimes perpetrated by themselves, as far as I can see with my limited knowledge here, it may be against the 9th Amendment for the police to have that immunity in the first place as they wrote the immunity only for themselves and their crimes. The Ninth Amendment was part of the Bill of Rights that was added to the Constitution on December 15, 1791. It says that all the rights not listed in the Constitution belong to the people, not the government. In other words, the rights of the people are not limited to just the rights listed in the Constitution.
  17. Then, we need an amendment to The Bill of Rights that no law enforcement official shall be held unaccountable for crimes and can and will be tried in a court of law and held accountable to the highest degree in that state's statute, etc...or however it should be written. (My writing is only an example.) But, even having that in the Bill of Rights doesn't guarantee there won't be a secreted if not outright paid off abuse of power but it's better to have it written into The Bill of Rights than not. Can it be done?
  18. Hmmmm, yeah but...promises...promises...how many times have the first two been tried? The third I'm not familiar with whether it was tried in certain states or not. As far as promises...promises...I don't know if it's enough. These police guys tend to stick together for good ol' boy power. However, the law that already exists for immunity in crimes perpetrated by the police needs to be over-turned first. I say hit them with unpaid taxes.
  19. This is undoubtedly tragic but burning down the city won't help unless it's to say the police will go away if there is no city, but that's still not true. The way to fight this is by refusal to pay taxes, most likely property taxes until immunity for police crimes is over-turned. Would anyone be willing to do that - refuse to pay property and other taxes?
  20. I'm going to quote you again, Paul which is kind of weird, but I felt what I am about to say regarding the above deserves it's own post. Then, the only way we have to fight the above is to stop paying our taxes somewhere, so it may have to be property taxes. We will all have to refuse to pay our property taxes and certain other taxes until that above law is over-turned. I don't see any other way to fight it. I know certain taxes are taken out of our checks, but there are other taxes we can refuse to pay.
  21. I see. So the police have blinders on. They see other "crime" but not their own? So, it's attracting racists. Scary. I'm not saying color is a crime...it's merely attracting those who can get away with it. Again, scary.
  22. I agree. I don't give a darn about statues in this matter. Well, maybe a little...the ones in the museums. But, the statues that interest me most in the museums do not depict a particular person but rather were to challenge existing artistic rules.
  23. Make a new pie? With what ingredients though? I think we need to look at what is making the pie rotten in the first place. So, I thought about it. Is it really the color of someone's skin that makes it rotten or is it preconceived notions in regards the the color of the skin? If it is preconceived notions about the color of the skin, to what purpose does this police brutality hope to accomplish towards that color of skin? And then, I wonder about corruption. So, let's say the pie is rotten because of corruption. Why is the pie corrupt? Who corrupted it and for what reasons? To what gains does the corruption hope to accomplish, is it money? So then, I deduce the corruption of the rotten pie is greed. The Police are federally and state funded through grants. However, private money also supports the Police Departments. So, who are these who are sending private monies to the Police and for what reasons? It is political posturing through private monies? Is it church influenced through private monies? And also, would it be safe to say there is a possibility someone could be using POC in order to further their own capital gain or even political agendas? And, if that is the case, it needs to looked at as to what does systemic racism and racial profiling hope to achieve through the police force? What is their goal here? It must involve allocations of money because I can't see it existing for no reason; thus, I think it's money power of some kind. Another thing though, some laws need to just be done away with first, I'd imagine. Also, if there were no police. What about spousal abuse? Whom would someone call in a spousal abuse situation if they need help?
  24. Most things though I can only speak from my perspective, so I'd be complicating the issue here. It's time for me to learn more about it, otherwise I might make the waters too murky if I speak from my perspective.
  25. YW. About all I really understand is it's a corrupt system of power. However, we know our Police forces are people of all color. How, where, when, why it will all change I don't know yet but it won't happen overnight. I will keep watching and observing that is for sure. Some old laws do need to be over-turned though, imo, laws that are old and archaic and religious such as gambling and prostitution for which I feel that is people's own money and not a police matter as it's not their money nor their business. I also agree with legalization of marijuana and the vilification of all people who may smoke marijuana needs to go away. Some of these laws do tend to vilify all people if once charged.
