  1. Defacing property was just shown above with grave sites and the BLM spray painted on people's headstones. The protesting has turned violent in many areas. It is not peaceful but it is not fully known who is doing what as it's far too many people.
  2. I hear what you are saying in that to fight violence with violence is just another wrong and can never signal virtue but apparently in this thread it is not a favorable opinion, or it's a troll or a concern troll which is just more stereotyping and prejudice. Stereotyping is stereotyping. Prejudice is prejudice. There are people of all colors who are separatists; they want to keep to their own kind, as Ashlyn keeps saying she wants it to be about her and her people. Blacks have integrated in many neighbors and now hold positions in all job descriptions and we are friends and inter-racially coupled. My ex-boyfriend was black. I'm white. We were just two people when we were together. Should I tell my ex-boyfriend he should go be with "your people", Ashlyn? Come on, that's wrong. There is no "his" people; he loves all kinds of people. I feel like some things in this thread is taking people back to the 1950's. Black people have changed and are just leading their lives with many different kinds of people and are unique even in so much as being Jewish. There is only one race. The human race. There aren't different races. People mistake the word race for ethnicity.
  3. No, after reading your posts, I was just trying to make you see there are other people other than black who have been innocently brutalized or murdered by police. But, you want to make it all about you and your people. As far as you bringing up Jewish in another post, Jewish is a religion of all colors of people, including blacks. My parents were friends with a black man who was Jewish. The world is made up of all kinds of people who have been innocently brutalized by police everywhere and not just in the United States. To take on just one realm of it and say it's the focus, I can't do that because it is not the only focus.
  4. I gather you've never heard of the genocides all over the world? "People want to make this an all lives thing", your quote. So, you think people other than black people who were beaten, abused or murdered at the hands of the police other than black people mattered? If people other than black people mattered, then why were they murdered?
  5. I didn't have the perky but I did try the Legacy when trying to make a realistic looking dancer's shape for a friend. The thighs in the Legacy original pre-perky look a little strange, so best to get a bikini and dance around in the demo to see how you like the way the legs look. Maitreya body is photo #1. Legacy body is photo #2. Both of these have the same shape on. I think the Legacy legs look kind of strange and almost like a plastic doll the way they are rounded. I had a demo on for the bikini. Maitreya looks like a more realistic body overall. Maitreya Body Photo #1 Legacy Body Photo #2
  6. I think you should do what is best for you. I may follow suit as well. I'm going with you! lol But, seriously, I would like to not use the forum either. I need to do what is best for me and this isn't it.
  7. Thank you Ozzie for that information about Harriet. lmao
  8. Some of your items may actually be modify even though you think they aren't. Sometimes it's the script only that is no modify while the rest of the item could be modified - size, texture the whole bit; however, the script remains no modify. Items sitting in your inventory will read no modify IF the script it contains is no modify, so check each listing carefully of the items you do buy as they may be modify but read copy only in your inventory. As far as transfer. You can't have copy and transfer except on full perm items. If the item is modify/transfer but no copy you can have that. Or you can have copy/modify but no transfer. Again, the only exception to copy and transfer is a sort of full perm item although most full perm items are copy/modify/transfer under a user license which each creator sets up. I also believe many don't want people transferring to accounts other than the purchaser probably to help prevent copy-botting. Transfer all copies could be transferred to a lot of accounts. I don't know how to copy-bot nor how it's done nor is not important to tell me how. What I'm saying is this could be the reason. Many creators are very protective of the items they create here. And, with so many things already created for SL, would it really be fair to add that only into items created after a transfer-all copies was invented? I don't think the merchants of SL want to cut off their livelihood by messing with that idea in regards to all the products that are already created because that should be an option not a force as with full perm items you are not allowed to transfer out of the original purchaser's account name. Many items are copy only so you don't screw it up is the basic reason for copy only in my own personal opinion. Some items cannot be modified. Yeah, this is confusing...but always check to make sure if the item is copy and modify as it may only be the script which is making it read no modify in your inventory. Gacha is the main item to get involved in if you want to keep transferring account to account to account. Second-hand resale market for Gachas is not a bad price for alts. adding: Read more of the thread. After reading the thread and thinking more about it - no I don't think the permissions should have any changes whatsoever. What about all the items already created? It could leave those out of the loop. Plus other problems.
  9. Yes, but I'd keep it simple for now and say just the pollution and many of us drive a pollutant - a car. And then I think of all the nuclear waste and the atomic bombs and on and on it goes. And, I'm angry at the pollutants too and wonder was it all really necessary? I gather it's like we manipulated nature and now nature itself is sick. But, yeah, your right, man made nature sick. But, what's done is done. We will undo it somehow and at least be well eventually. If I believe otherwise, I don't think I could get up in the morning. Yet, I'm still very, very angry right now. I don't want to be told any more lies nor half truths about this.
  10. I never had any grannies. One died before I was born; the other died when I was 1 year old. With my Mom, it was chicken soup. I became a vegetarian and a person who eats organic foods when I was 17 years old. I don't drink soda; I don't eat artificial food additives. I learned a lot about foods and health through studying about it. But, speaking of tea...I love my iced tea this time of year. It's something I need. It relaxes me. It's a treat to me. I have some amazing recipes I made up for iced tea by mixing different kinds of tea and adding fresh lime juice and it's one of the best things I ever tasted. I don't take street drugs. I don't drink. I guess I qualify as a "health nut"...though I splurge once in a while. I was tested for coronavirus last week. I have my results now and the test says negative. Now what? I don't know. If I relax with my iced tea, I may feel a little bit better just because it relaxes me for some reason but if I could vent at this invisible killer, I would. If some will be held accountable...I don't know but I don't think it was done intentionally. Whom do I vent at - nature? Sometimes, I feel like venting at nature for letting us down and I'm angry at nature. (my favorite teas I mixed were apple cider and hibiscus teas with fresh lime juice over ice - tastes incredible!)
  11. I think I've said all I have to say about the herd immunity and our frustrations to get "there" and the mess of health care. I really wish Covid-19 was not happening in an election year. It seems too much to deal with now. But, yeah...the focus really needs to stay on Covid-19 because it's living in a way we've never lived before. How do I vent at the invisible virus. It's worn me inside and out. I hate it. I actually feel like I hate it. I don't know how to get that feeling out. I never felt this way before - with this much hate towards something.
  12. Yes, much. Thanks! No, free clinics are not for the wealthy. The wealthy have their own private doctors and are usually considered "the best". Free clinics are usually for people without any health insurance but perhaps could extend to include those with health insurance if no other clinics are currently open. You may think that...but I don't. Money can buy just about everything including immigrating into a country. I don't think taxing the rich in America is the answer nor would it work; the taxes would eventually be put on us little people just like other countries that have this. There are too many opportunities to live with lower taxes for the rich right now - Monaco the best example which is about 5% lower than the current tax for the wealthy after Trump's lower taxation for the wealthy. I think we do need to do something sooner than later though...free clinics during this pandemic for those with issues beyond Covid-19 need help too and that is where my head is at right now.
  13. I just wanted to say there are ways to get some medical care in America other than private insurance and these include County hospitals and teaching hospitals which can vary in time from a miracle to two years to try to give a timeline. At teaching hospitals you can receive free health care. I know many who do receive free health through teaching hospitals and/or free treatment through teaching hospitals in America. It's not a complete and total loss here as media may make others think in other countries. But, we could certainly use more free clinics here, with say doctors volunteering one day every two or three months perhaps. I don't think volunteering is too much to ask for America's own people when there are Doctor's Without Borders who will do charity outside of America....so why not here too...as far as extending it to more free clinics and/or Doctors Within Borders? I've been thinking about this because of Covid-19. There are others who need health care too besides the Covid-19 patients. We need a way for that to start happening. I was thinking free clinics perhaps.
  14. Yes, but the business could be moved altogether too. And, then there is this among all the other loopholes the rich seem to find...don't ask me for all the links because I don't want to look them all up: If you qualify as an American citizen residing abroad (basically having lived at least one year abroad), there are two methods by which you can reduce your US tax by a substantial amount. These are the "Foreign Earned Income Exclusion (FEIE)" and the "Foreign Tax Credit."
  15. Yes, but how long would that last if they did immigrate to France or Argentina or where ever? Three years for Argentina; Five years for France. I would think their money could give them certain under the table privileges too. There is no guarantee the rich would stay here if taxes were raised. As a matter of fact, I think they would leave which would leave the brunt of the taxes upon the little people eventually and I don't want that. I don't want to be a Socialist country.
  16. Just out of interest, what makes you think "the rich" would stay or live in America to be taxed? Monaco for example has extremely low taxes as do other places far more attractive places who cater to the rich. What if all the rich just picked up and moved? You cannot force a rich person to live in America.
  17. I thought you might mean that but I wasn't sure because information is changing so rapidly today with Covid-19 so much so that the rich are "poor" now and/or some are claiming to be and not only poor but bankrupt and there have been rumors of tax breaks so businesses will stay open and not file for actual bankruptcy, although some smaller businesses already are ready to file or filing. As far as universal health care, I was just reading about it. It was something I had heard in passing regarding Saunders but didn't think it would happen, not yet anyways. You're probably wondering...where have you been? I was in a nursing care facility/rehab for over two years undergoing many therapies including some homeopathic for chronic pain as I refused to undergo another surgery after having three surgeries. I also did not watch TV in the hospital/rehab, I drew and created art and listened to music on YouTube mostly to relax while I drew. I also read the current Obamacare has gone up substantially since it was first introduced. All of this universal health care will have to be paid for by taxes, which we know, but I'm just writing it because it's the pivotal thing. How to do that? Well, maybe there was a plan "how" but it's a different world now with Covid-19. I feel so over-whelmed by Covid-19. Just over-whelmed.
  18. Taking on "Big Pharma"? Thankfully, we do have some generic drugs which are affordable and/or paid for altogether under certain Federal and State governments. Not all states have the same government assistance programs currently though. What if certain drugs are more expensive to make? This would mean medicines would have to be made by the government itself than or what exactly because if a product is sold and receives less than it costs to make, that business could go out of business. That's what happening to the oil companies right now. It cost them more to produce than what they will receive through futures contracts right now at present time and the U.S. oil companies are claiming they are bankrupt now. And, what recent tax cuts? Do you mean prior to Covid-19 or tax cuts with Covid-19? I think tax breaks for business' will be necessary for business' with Covid-19 to keep jobs. Then the Federal government will take up the slack by funding state and local governments with Covid-19 assistance during the pandemic with the next stimulus, the Heroes Act. I don't follow specific tax cuts...so I don't know which "recent" tax cuts you mean.
  19. I'm doing my best. I'm in your camp though about health insurance...I was just explaining how it's been. It's been on business owners through unions to comply otherwise a strike would occur with which my Mom and I went through several strikes. Striking is not a wonderful thing either....very little money was supplied to use by the union. It was scary a couple of times there! Something has to give in regards to health coverage. I think most of humanity would agree with that. What do you think is going to work, Luna? I would have time to read that at least but will be off later in the day.
  20. Do you think the USPS going private and then public where it can issue stock is a bad idea? I think it could save many American's jobs by keeping the rich CEO's from doing whatever they'd like. Not that being public doesn't cause a lot of under-handed stuff too. What's the best way to deal with the USPS to keep it competitive and at least a little more transparent, if that's even a reality not a pipe-dream.
  21. My Mom is the last person I personally know to have been part of a union and to have a pension. Her employers provided that under union rules, not government rules. But, actually, no I don't understand the difference between socialism versus a social democracy. However, what I stated is true about homeless drug addicts. They don't want help. They don't want to be put in some kind of an insane asylum. Ireland has a place for Heroin addicts called The Seven Towers. You can hear Bono mention The Seven Towers in u2's song "Bad". "I took the poison from the poison stream and I floated out of here." We don't have housing for hardcore drug addicts whom are sick from the drugs. I don't think giving them clean needles and then to live on the streets is a good idea. I think the hardcore drug addicts should be housed in some way like Ireland but we could be here all day talking about the ills of all of this. I just don't have the time to devote to it. If you do, I hope you can channel your enthusiasm for change into realities for "the poor" including the hardcore drug addicts whom many have said they do not want help nor do they want to be caged. I know I spoke with an AA counselor recently about someone in my immediate environment. She said "We cannot help people who don't want help. There is nothing we can do." So, what I am saying is true about hardcore drug addicts. Currently, there is nothing we can do. Others who are not hardcore drug addicts should not be homeless either. But, I just don't have time to devote to it. In regards to private business. They cannot go public (issue stock) unless they are private first. This is the problem with the USPS. If it goes private, it can then go public and issue stock and receive some of it's profits from investors rather than just keep hiking prices for rich CEO's to where the USPS cannot compete with other shipping services. It's so involved Luna. I just don't have time to get into it all.
  22. As far as I understand it, an aneurysm is not the same as a stroke. A stroke cuts off the oxygen/blood supply to the brain and causes cognitive disorders. An aneurysm is like a blood clot, oxygen/blood supply is diminished but not cut off as with a stroke. So, no, aneurysm do not always lead to cognitive disorders. But, yet, you also overlook very important facts that both candidates work within a team; a team of advisers; a team called an administration. Biden will not be alone. However, maybe I should have said "I think" Biden will win. Poles are considered a leading indicator.
  23. Well, however, we view them...Biden is leading in preliminary "poles". Poles are not votes. But, we need to understand...it's not just Trump and it's not just Biden, there is a whole team working together, many of whom are not seen. President Trump has Larry Kudlow as Director of the U.S. Economic Council...I hope Biden can get him too! Kudlow is a brilliant man!
