  1. As the [REGION NAME REMOVED] is a fairly large private estate, the first thing i'd do is thoroughly check their covenant to see if you have indeed fallen foul of any rule that would justify them in ejecting you.

For 3rd person view I use some settings suggested by Penny Patton on her website years ago - places the camera lower and flatter - looks more realistic and you can wander through lower height areas more easily. I'm guessing my settings are quite similar to Jenna's posted above. To be honest though, I probably spend more time in SL in mouselook view anyway.

Can I suggest that if you see on mainland some road or other thing that you think would be a benefit to the community if it was fixed/improved, then please file a Jira for it rather than simply positing it here. I, and a few others, have had a lot of success over the past year getting new roads put in via submitting a Jira for them. Whilst some of the Moles frequent these forums, I'm not sure how many actual Lindens do, so it's better to go via the official route

  7. A parcel owner next to that old broken bridge made a temporary rezzable bridge that spanned the gap, something most drivers have been using in the last year, but it's great to see a proper, neat fix from the Moles

  9. Alwin beat me to it, but yeah I've been in SL over 11 years now, and my inventory level is still under 20,000 as well. My actual inventory level is probably 3 times that - but I either delete stuff that's pointless or outdated - notecards and landmarks being the main items, or more importantly, I archive stuff by boxing it up. That alone saves a huge amount of space
  10. I don't think its a mystery at all. No doubt LL only has finite resources when it comes to policing Bellisseria. When the continent was first released, they had approx 3500 homes to manage. At a guess, they now have about 10 times that many, so is it really surprising that AR's take longer to get resolved, or even don't get resolved at all? I imagine the situation will continue to get worse until Bellisseria is 100% complete and then LL can re-task resources.
  11. Oddly, I didn't find the S&H regions to be laggy at all, in fact I was very surprised by how quickly everything rezzed in for me.
  12. 2048 LL parcels will have the same prim per square metre ratio as the existing sizes, which means whilst you'll have twice as many prims to use - you'll have twice as much space that needs filling
  13. For out of theme stuff i tend to just use the "Land - Encroachment" category - not really accurate but as yoursaid there's no specific Belisseria category. For non-conforming security (ie: 0 second orbs), i usually use the "Harassment - Targeted behaviour intending to disrupt" category

Not sure what the point is in you starting a thread where the OP ends with "What do you think?" if you're then going to spend the next 5 pages totally dismissing anything that others have to say, just because they don't happen to agree with you, or point out some errors you've made. If all you wanted was an echo chamber of like-minded responses, then perhaps you would've been better off prefacing the OP to state clearly that it is actually a rant, and contrary opinions are not welcome
  15. Yay, looks better now And i hear you about manually lining up textures. Prior to discovering those little tricks myself, when i used to use default mapping, i would manually calculate the changes i needed to make to the repeats when using prims of different sizes. I ended up putting the formula in a spreadsheet to make it faster. Then after that I would manually adjust the offsets until it looked right - it was so tedious
  16. Just some advice - the areas where you've used the green panel texture - all the texture repeats are different and don't line up with each other. In one part they are narrow, in another they are wide etc. You should switch the texture mapping to "planar" and use the "Align Planar faces" option to make all those areas match up properly. I just mentioned it cause it's something I see all over SL, in mainland and on add-ons for Bellisseria, and it's a bit of a pet peeve of mine - especially when it is so easily fixed lol

  18. I don't think LL are going to bother decorating all those empty water regions which separate Bellisseria and other continents. Seems likes a waste of resources considering the how busy the Moles still are with the actual liveable area of Belli, and the little use these empty regions get. Maybe once Bellisseria is finished they will stick in a few plants etc but I imagine that might be not high on their list of priorities at the moment.

    There is no protected waterway that far south along the west coast of Satori. Currently it is not possible to sail from the Blake Sea to Bellisseria, you can only fly over. It is however likely that the expansion of the LL homes north/north eastwards will eventually link up approximately one-third the way down the Satori west coast (Hathor or Atanua regions is my guess) and after that a protected route will be available. EDIT: You can however sail from the most southern region in Satori (Yeeowler - rez your boat at the Coast Guard marina) all the way down south to the Jeogeot gulf - a very long journey but with protected water the entire way.
  20. Bit late to this convo but as an extensive traveller of SL's roads, waterways, and skies, I'll stick my 2 cents worth in. Lack of experience, lack of planning, and failing to maximise the tools provided by the viewer are, in my opinion, 3 of the biggest reasons why people run into difficult with ban lines and orbs. I started "exploring" SL in late 2014, so I've been doing it a while, and i spend anywhere from 2 to 5 hours per day still exploring the mainland continents (Bellisseria included). This year alone, I've already spent 240 hours exploring. Number of instant-eject orbs Ive run into: 2. Number of banlines I've run into: 1. I'm sure you'll all agree, that's a pretty small amount of inconvenience in 240 hours. This isn't achieved through luck, but by following some simple guidelines when travelling in SL. As the OP asks for "options/workarounds", there's two pieces of advice I can give right away which will, with a little bit of experience, vastly improve air travel over continents. Firstly, enable parcel lines in your mini-map. Not sure if every viewer has this but many do - this is absolutely critical in helping to avoid trouble spots. With parcel lines enabled, you'll soon be able to spot potential trouble spots in a region, as well as potential safe areas. You see a set of perfectly square parcels all in an neat row - very likely they are owned/rented, and might have ban lines or orbs. You see a large oddly shaped parcel in the middle of a region - very likely this is abandoned land, and perfectly safe to fly through. With practise, you wont have many issues spotting semi-safe route over land. I've personally flown over land in south Satori to reach Bellisseria at least 100 times now, never encountering more than 2 orbs on the way, both with generous (30 secs+) time. Second bit of advice, and this is very much contrary to what others might say - always fly as LOW as possible, whilst still staying over the height of banlines. The logic of this is fairly straightforward. You will encounter vastly more skyboxes and skydomes above 300m, that you will below 300m, therefore you're likely to encounter vastly more orbs above 300m as well, since at that height they are the only effective security measure. Most people who live on the ground and want security, use banlines - which for anyone flying, are very easy to avoid, as long as you pay attention to your altitude and remember that banlines go 50m up from whatever the terrain level is. If the terrain is at 25m, then above 75m is "safe", but if the terrain is 210m, then you aren't "safe" until at least 260m. Also worth considering, a common mistake people make with altitude, is that they use the Z axis displayed at the top of their viewer to determine altitude. This figure is NOT the height above terrain, but instead is the height above the region floor. If, for example, you're flying along a low coastline at the same level as the water, your viewer will show a value of 70 on the Z axis, but this equates to 50m above terrain height, as any waters-edge land will be at 20m above the region floor (default water level in mainland is at 20m). Compounding this issue is that many aircraft creators use that Z-axis value for their altimeters in their instruments or HUDS, meaning that you are always seeing a figure than is technically, 20m too low.
  21. I think @4lice Cerise above idea is perfectly feasible. We know that the Sakura theme won't be the last, and the fact that LL have again cleared out private regions west of the Stilts indicates that something is going to go in there. It should also be noted that, unlike the Vic/Log border, or the Chalet/Newbrooke border, the gap between the Sakura theme and the Stilt theme is two regions wide instead of the usual one. Logically, there is not much sense in having the dividing area being so wide if it's only going to be mountains (elsewhere in Belli all dividing mountains between themes have been only 1-region wide), so this might indicate that LL plan to join the northern Stilt area and southern Sakura area by a combination of empty water regions and a coastline that incorporates the railway. The empty water regions would serve as a divider between the Stilts and Sakura themes, and would also join the Sakura waterways up to the stilts, as well as allowing a clear passage down southwards towards a future theme or the northern coast of the Logs (in whatever way that gets finished), whilst the adjoining railway coastal regions would finish off Sakura, allow continued train passage southwards, and of course still incorporate LL home parcels. If, after Sakura, there's the possibility of 2 more themes to be added, then I can see this idea definitely having merit - is there any definitive word from LL as to how many themes there will be?
  22. Most linden land still uses the default SL day cycle, which is 3 hours of daylight followed by one hour of night. That constitutes one "day" in SL, and means that in a standard 24 hour RL time period, there are 6 days. You keep mentioning various SL times that you check, but the time on your viewer is the RL time for LL office, not the actual time it is in SL - so it could easily be 7am in RL (shown on your viewer), but the middle of the night in SL. This might be part of your confusion, and it's made worse now with EEP which seems to screw up how the default SL day shows on your screen. If you want to check what the actual time is in SL, then from your top menu select World > Region Details. The click on the Environment tab and at the bottom left side it will says "Apparent time of day" - if it's between 9pm and 3 am, then that's night time in SL and it should be dark ETA: Note that what i said applies to Linden land only. On any private parcel/land, the owner can specify to either use the default region (LL) settings, or they can specify their own day/sky settings, as others have mentioned.

  24. Nice! Not quite where i predicted they'd go, but considering the Sakura theme looks like its going to have a decent amount of waterways, then it makes sense that it's close to the Stilts. I still want to know Sarah how on earth you see these things on the world map though. My world map shows nothing, and neither does the Shergood radar map (which is usually ahead of the SL map)
