I lived on the atoll. I have driven every road, ridden every rail and flown and sailed all over...and to be honest... Mainland is just tired and old and really not worth the visit anymore. It's a mess, and getting messier. I would just rather skip the vehicles, and I love them dearly, in favor of visiting well designed, modern looking private sims.

Yes like Theresa said the secret is folders, lots and lots of folders. I would go a step further though and not include more than about 100 items in a folder. Folders are items too so in a single folder you don't want more than about 100 folders. With 100 subfolders under each. Takes a while if you have a very flat structure. I beleive that there are some scripts floating around that can automate the process, but they just create tons of folders alphabetically.

There are HUDs on marketplace that will hit TP for you. Some are better than others, so ask around. Other choice is to do like others say and wait 4 or 5 days for the fashion crazy among us to filter through.

I dunno. I tend to find way more things in a single day then I could ever wear. What body are you using? The biggest issue i would see is for people not using one of the top three bodies. On the applier front, with Omega, it seems that pretty much everything works....again if you body supports omega.

One comment I will make as someone that often mains the LL viewer. Nearly every feature you see exposed in the TPVs can be found hidden in the debug settings. Not everything, and sadly not some of the most useful features when it comes to building, but a large number. Like this case, if you arelooking for a feature be sure to ask about it. Decent chance its hiding in plain site..ie the debug settings.

I use a rez prim I'm my mesh houses most of the time. One trick though I find when I just need to rez one thing quick is to drag my item to a wall instead of the floor. That seems to work better.

Yea clothes with both omega and physique appliers seems the best option.

The generic International Users line is getting old. Some third party exchanges do have additional payment options, but I have a very hard time believing t hat anyone is truely excluded with the options LL has right now.

Just so you know...a full sim (not grandfathered) is 76,000 L$ per month. So half that is not 20k...so about 38k or right around $150. Might help with your planning.

As was said you will need to manually migrate them. I will say, that selling Gacha on MP is very fast with VMM. I think that MP though is going to be flooded before too long with 10's of 1000's of items in just gacha.

Most of the tattoos for Lena bodies use the Omega system as opposed to direct appliers. But like all mesh bodies the Lena body has a set of different layers that can have textures applied.

Shop, landscape, decorate, fly, sail, dance, chat, did I mention shop?

Generally whwnit comes to mesh clothing on meah bodies you want fitted mesh clothing rigged specifically to that body. Sometimes regular mesh will work if you use the right alpha layers that come with the body. It can be hard to find fitted mesh though for all but the very most popular bodies

The assumption then is that VMM RC will be promoted to the defacto release prior to the 23rd?

I dont buy without demos and I usually wont pay the 1L$ fee some people charge to get the demo either.

Thanks for all these continued responses. On Second Life, I think that the changes over the last several years have been fantastic and I look forward to the new things which have been mentioned. I dont know that there is much more to say other than to continue to do the best you can with the platform. I have a couple of questions on Sansar though. 1) Will the land/terrain system be sufficiently advanced to allow for the creation of caves? 2) Will there be better tools for managing and visualizing inventory? One of the biggest challenges in SL today is effectivly organzing an inventory you cannot quickly see. I would love to see transaction data fed into a web based inventory management system when purchases can be visualized, sorted and tagged. In the idea of Mainland, while I can apprciate the ideas behind mainland and thing that the community and especially the vehicle aspects are exceedingly important, as a landowner I simply don't want to compete with LL. I think that mainland type communities should be enabled, and that different landowners should continue to feel free to connect distributed regions into a larger whole. I would prefer to see this done without the direct invovlement of land payments to LL. Priced right, with sufficicient size I can see small groups coming together to create realms like the Blake Sea. In fact, I can envision the new regions being modern enough to allow for vast amounts of sailable/flyable water without greatly increasing the processing power needed. Please, please no one do what the original poster is suggesting. While maybe trying to help you have absolutely no way to know what these files are, if they have been in anyway tampered with or what the actual intent might be. One of the scariest posts I have seen in a long time. OP: if you have a solution to a bug or issue in FS you should bring it up with the FS team and work with them to distribute files through official channels.

Generally if you have this issue in an instance where everything was working the best option is to force a character test. This complete avi change usually kicks the asset servers into gear to rez you and allow you to change back to your normal self. I find this respect helpful if you are logged in when the servers we having issues. This help to jog their memory.

Display names only. It's time for user names to become the way that LL refers to its customers accounts and Display Names become the way residents refer to each other. I would be happy tobaee the option to see user names be gone for good

Ok. So I am not 1005 sure what your talking about for sure, but I am going to take a wild guess that you are talking about inventory transfering into Sansar the new grid the LL is working on. Lets be VERY clear. Sansar is not SL 2.0. Its not Second Life at all. It is a brand new from the ground up virtual world that just happens to be developed by LL. If you are thinking of it as SL 2 just stop, its not that. The new virtual world will have different avatars with different rigging. Mesh clothing will likely not work and system clothing is even less likely to work. Even if things do work, like houses or landscapes, LL likely does not have the rights to move those creations off of SL> They were uploaded there for use there. LL cant just move those assets to a new system. One of the things they talked about in that video was the idea of charging for storing inventory, and Ebbe was pretty clear that the storage aspect of inventory was not an expensive thing. ITs not likely that will happen in Sansar or SL. I know its easy for people to consider Sansar a new version of SL or an upgrade, but thats dangerous thinking. Its a whole new world and I think we should be lucky we ar going to get to make use of existing user names....

Ask yourself how much you want to make and how much time you want to devote. The fishing games, cone games and allnofbthe other traffic schemes do payout but you often are earning less than 100 L$ per hour with these sometimes way leas. 100 L$ is about .40 USD. 100L$ doesn't always buy even one item so the question is...how valuable is your time? Is it worthwhile to spend a whole hour in world to make 40 cents? If you want to make more, I think the best way is to learn to make things people want to buy and sell them. Even that though usually requires money to start. In my opinion the fastest way to earn L$ isn't to earn them its to buy them. There are always exception and other things you can do, but it comes down to what your goals are.
