  1. One other nice feature of the viewer with aci is that it will also allow you tobsave graphics preference and adjust on the fly. So you can have and Uber ultra setting for exploring and taking pictures, and a medium settings for out shopping and another for the super busy club. One thing I see people do when they get a new PC as well is Jack all the settings up including draw distance. If you upped DD bring it back down . I find 160 is a good trade between seeing and performance.
  2. I don't actively talk people out of much, but TMP is one. I think the while system is too closed and too complex. Looking nice only goes so far.
  3. They want the clothes and textures to look the way they want? They don't want their clothes and textures tinted in unexpected way? I am just speculating...
  4. It has been ages now since I ran out of attachment points. I use a wardrobe organization tool so I don't have to worry about storing appliers with outfits. I definitely think though the attachment points should not be going up.
  5. I don't think this would have much effect but have you tried changing other aspects of your shape? Pre-fitted match clothes sometimes required to change to breasts cleavage or breast gravity to fit right. I'm not sure if that will have any impact here but may be worth looking into
  6. From a store called snowrabbit
  7. Blogs, shopping/fashion events are the best way to find quality clothing and stores for everything in SL. Hit up the top events and grab the demos. See what you like and visit the main stores. Marketplace is a good resource but it is by no means the best.
  8. The bridge is only used by firestorm and is not critical for any function of SL. It can be safely disabled. There are a few Firestorim features that won't work though.
  9. There is a button on the HUD that lets you control the layer mask. Depending on what other layers you are wearing, you may need to adjust that. Click then on the active layers till you get the proper look.
  10. The Trace Too....and bunches more. I am always looking for places as well. Feel free to give me a shout we can exchange locations.
  11. You just cannot compare SL to other games. The content is simply vast and nearly completely in optimized. I have a similar machine. I don't get 30 to often on ultra. Just the way of SL
  12. Yes the person who comes in once a year demanding a feature is the one who always gets the most attention.
  13. I have had many issues with heads. What I am finding now is that each head needs to be custom fitted with the few shape sliders that adjust them tweaked for the right look. I think that newer skins are making the heads look better. I am also finding the removing all built in makeup is a huge plus. It is hard to make mesh heads look really good in my opinion, but it can be done with a bit of work.
  14. I am not sure we have any idea how small or large their sample size is to make an accurate assessment. We might guess, but I am not sure we really know. If they reached out to 50 people for signifigant inclusion I would think they were nuts. IMHO they don't need hundreds of people giving advice. You say that not making Sansar SL 2.0 is the roots of it's problems, but lets face it Sansar has ZERO problems as it doesn't exist yet. It may turn out to be so fantastic that we all move, or maybe it turns out to be so fantastic that LL reduces tier on land in SL, or maybe it flops, we have not clue an won't for a year or more. I could not disagree more that Sansar should have been SL 2.0, because that would simply kill Second Life. I can't think of a single benefit to making another world with the sole goal of having it replace Second Life. What LL should be doing, and by many accounts are doing, is improving Second Life. I think the biggest limit LL has in updating SL is the opinons of the residents (how much could they do with the skeleton and avatar if they didnt need to maintain compatibility with system clothing for example...they cant though because it would cause an uproar due to broken content). Does the SL user base have extensive knowledge? Age in Sl certainly doesn't grant knowledge. Time in world does not, how would LL make any sort of judgement other than to look at the people they know create and make large quanitities of the content in world.
  15. I have a few comments on this. As someone that manages IT projects and looks at them from both the business side and the development side, I think LL has done with Sansar exactly what I would do in a similar project. I do not like bringing in loads of people with diverse opinions when starting a new project. It does not help make a better product and tends to make the new product start to mirror the old, which is not always a good thing. You work with a smaller group of people, with a very defined set of parameters and skills to develop your new product. In the end that is just smart business. My other comment is that in all of the things I have ready, and everything Ebbe has said it seems quite clear that Sansar is not SL 2.0 or even a replacement for SL. It is a platform on which developers and designers can build virtual world experiences. Where Second LIfe is meant for those of us without skills to make meshes and script to come in and live and play, Sansar will first require someone to come in and build the right expereinces. While I am sure there will be a market, and it will be possible to build shared spaces without having to actualy make meshes yourself, I do not get a sense that this is the purpose of Sansar. They have that already in Second Life. In my opinion, Second Life is seeing a period of drastic change over the past 18 months. Changes on the viewer side to modernize code infrastructure. Changes now coming to update the avatar. Linden Lab is listening to people in Second Life about how to update this platform. I often hear Sansar referred to as SL 2.0, and when I do I get the sense that the person making that reference will be very disappointed. Its a brand new world, made for a brand new world. New tools, new design. I don't think LL is insulting its SL user base.
  16. http://meshbodyaddicts.com/ pretty much all you need
  17. Always looking for people to chat and hang out with. Feel free to give a shout when you are on.
  18. I would say Ink or Excile...but not for sure
  19. Sent you an IM. Give me a shout happy to help you get going everyone is right, its amazing for organization of inventory.
  20. Plain and simple, your friend must protect his intellectual property. Flagging it, commenting none of that hold as much weight as the actual holder of the IP saying to LL that someone is violating his IP rights. Tell your friend to file a DMCA complaint. That's the best course of action.
  21. Start with CasperLet.it is a rental system that will do a lot of what you are after. It also integrate with a few other systems to manage group invites.
  22. Facelights and body lights would both be things you wear. You can look for and detach them on your worn tab in inventory. And Firestorm is unlikely to perform any better than other viewers on older hardware.
  23. I don't know. I am 100% consumer... I buy a lot. And lately I look closely at and buy more and more applier clothing. I would have to think that appliers are the new system layers. I saw there is a whole event geared towards taking old system clothing now and breathing new life as appliers. I am very much in the market for well made, especially hand drawn, clothing for my mesh bodies. I don't think these things are dead yet, just changing.
  24. I don't script so nothing for you on #2, but I have not noticed any increase in drops on the latest LL release or the quick graphics rc viewer. I was on pretty much all day yesterday with the LL release without issue.
