  1. Not legally, but even if you could, it wouldn't help because the UV map of a mesh item wouldn't match with the system layer UV map. Every part of the garment texture would be in the wrong place. You would have to literally re-draw it from scratch. It would be easier and quicker to open a blank Photoshop file and start there.
  2. I've been wearing blonde more often than red hair these days, and I've changed my eyes from grey to hazel, so I decided it was time for a new profile pic. The eyes are from this pack of Catwa appliers; a bargain price and they are really lovely. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/LW-Amazing-Eyes-Catwa-Lelutka-applier/14900224
  3. Wow that is the loveliest free body I have ever seen. How's the fit with mesh clothing? Does it include any kind of alpha hud?
  4. This is a MASSIVE difference, that's not just a matter of lighting. It looks to me like either; - The head has a darker tint on the skin layer; check the colour tint tab on the Catwa hud - Either the head or the body has Gloss on but the other doesn't; check the gloss sliders on both huds - He has purchased different tones of the skin head and body by accident; double-check the names of the appliers - He has accidentally clicked either the head or body hud to go back to a default skin; re-apply the skin appliers If none of these help, then as suggested, get a fresh copy of both the head and body and start again. If it STILL doesn't help, try getting a demo of a different skin from another store, and trying that on instead. That can rule out whether there is a problem with the Adam & Eve skin; they may have packed the wrong tone in one of their boxes. If skins from other places look bad as well, I guess he will just have to live with it and hope that other people see him differently. ETA another thought - Did he buy the Adam & Eve skin from their actual store? Or did he find a cheap one on the Marketplace that was just called Adam & Eve? If the latter, he's been scammed. ETA yet another thought - the Signature pack includes two versions of the body, one normal and one Bakes on Mesh. Check that he's not wearing the Bakes on Mesh body; if he does that, it won't accept the applier but it will just show whatever classic skin he's wearing underneath.

The skin is nice but I hope there's a no-brows version included. Those ones look really fierce.
  6. Here are my two lovely gifts; @Alyona Su got me the palomino skin for my Teegle horse, and the medieval dress was from my actual Secret Santa. Thank you so much, both of you! To my giftee; yours is on its way now.
  7. Well, it's still early here and I've only been up a little over hour, just started my second cup of Yorkshire Tea, so it's going pretty good so far. I'm spending the day alone; my partner is up in Scotland for the day with a sporting event, and I'm considering going to my local pub for a proper Sunday lunch because I can't cook anything like that on my own.
  8. Same here. I think I'm the only person who can copy and paste a working script exactly as-is, with no changes, and still break it.
  9. I would build a fantasy roleplay zone, of at least four regions, based on Valinor and Beleriand from Tolken's First Age (Silmarillion). One of the regions would be the glittering city of Tirion, there would also be the harbour at Losgar, the Two Trees, and a bridge of ice leading to the coast of Beleriand.
  10. I do a lot of fantasy costumes and when I do, I like to have nails that match. Alaskametro does some really lovely sets.

Personally, I love Izzie Button's Freckles appliers. They come in a multitude of tones that work even for dark skins. She has Genus appliers for the face too; https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Izzies-Genus-Project-Freckles-Appliers/16533947 If you are using Bakes on Mesh, the only pack you need is this one: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Izzies-Body-Freckles-II/9074739 It includes system layers for both body and face, plus all the major body appliers (except Omega, oddly).
  12. Check your internet connection. It may not be broad enough or stable enough to maintain a steady enough connection in order to finish rezzing eveything. And unlike most games, which will try to reconnect after a failure, SL doesn't always do that. If you are on wireless, try plugging into your router with an ethernet cable instead. And if that doesn't work, check out some of the other solutions here: https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/lag_info
  13. @Drake1 Nightfire You have some beautiful memories to cherish there. I am so sorry for the loss of your mum. (*offers hugs*)
  14. Help them with what? Where is that money coming from? I sure have none of my own.
  15. Naah. I don't like his hair (ironically, considering his face is on a hair ad). This guy doesn't stand out from tens of thousands of other guys in SL. I prefer ones who look a bit different.
  16. Eh, I think I'm either just a bit too young, or on the wrong continent. I never even heard of the Grateful Dead until about 10 years ago. They were ok, I guess, I don't hate their music, but I couldn't name even one of their songs. I guess you had to be at Woodstock to appreciate them? Or at least belong to the generation that was listening to American music at the time.
  17. White Tiger Island? http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Lawst Paradise/137/27/22 (That landmark might land you in an odd place; they have rearranged things since I picked it up. They still have the freebie village though). Also try Alaskametro - all her sets have one free "demo" that is actually wearable - it doesn't plaster the word "demo" all over your face, but you don't get all the diferent colour options, just one from each set.
  18. This is heartless. Why should *I* be told not to whine about it when *I* voted against it?
  19. Let's just talk about wine instead.
  20. Generic Tempranillos are my favourite; those that are not labelled as Rioja tend to be less dry and harsh. And definitely aim for $8-10 a bottle, not cheaper than that. Go too cheap and the drop in quality is too much. But there's no need to spend a fortune on expensive wines as they're not necessarily better for you. Know what you like and how to recognise it from the label on a bottle. If you know one or two wines you do like, mention them to your bar-staff or sommelier, they'll know what they have in stock that will be to your taste. And trust them; they're not there to sell you an expensive wine that you won't like. They want you back for another visit.
  21. I definitely do not like eggnog but I did call in at my favourite pub on the way home from work for a couple of beers and a chat with friends.
  22. Substitute only the names, and you have the US political system right there.
  23. Specifically, I presume, the Apache A-10. They don't call it "ugly but well-hung" for nothing.
  24. @Alyona Su I have a hypothetical but serious question for you. Suppose one of your RL friends introduces you to a person who uses the name "Carol". Carol admits to you personally that she was born with male genitalia and her birth certificate says "male". But Carol fully identifies as female, dresses entirely feminine and tells you that she prefers she/her pronouns. Carol wants gender reassignment surgery and hormone therapy but cannot access it because of financial/political/legal constraints. As a result of this, Carol still has a somewhat masculine appearance and voice. You go away and talk about Carol with your other RL friends. Do you refer to Carol as "he" or "she"?
