  1. I have the Pink Fuel one and while there is a more toned version, it probably isn't as muscular as the OP is looking for. It's more "amateur gymnast" than "bodybuilder". I don't know if they still exist but there used to be a skinmaker called Cocoa & Wolf, who made very muscular skins for women. Classic only, so even if they are still around, you will need a body that's omega-compatible in order to use them via Bakes on Mesh. For a body that size, you very likely will have to get something specialist, since it will also require a deformer to get the avatar taller than is normally possible. And the trouble with specialist bodies like this is that no-one except the original creator will make clothes for them. So if you are lucky you might get a bikini and thats it, unless you're able to make your own. If I was trying to build an avatar like this, I would be inclined to try putting a muscular female skin on a muscular male mesh body (Signature Gianni or Belleza Jake), and use one of Catwa's unisex heads (with a feminine face and a male body neck fit). Of course that would mean a nearly-flat chest, but that matches the appearance of most female bodybuilders anyway. The main flaw here wil be nipple position, which will be too high if you put a female skin on a mesh body.
  2. Granted. Its now 50 degrees C. I wish someone else would do all my Christmas shopping for me.
  3. This is a great idea. Count me in! https://marketplace.secondlife.com/wishlists/Matty.Luminos
  4. I've decided to rent out half my land, so here is a lovely piece of green mainland, 1008 sq.m with 346 prims. You'll be the sole occupier of the parcel, no sharing with stacked skyboxes. You'll have access to music/media stream and parcel renaming. Neighbours on the ground but nothing ugly. (One of them is me!) Residential or commercial use. A choice of cottages are available, or use your own. Pay rentbox and IM me for a group invite. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Chamisak/249/203/79
  5. I don't know how you did it, but this entire pic looks like a Japanese woodcut print. Brilliant.
  6. Did previous members of the Elite club get kicked out of the group and have to pay to re-join? If not, I would presume that most of them are still going to Frank's.
  7. Harold Wilson, in his first term. He was voted out in mid-1970 and voted back in 4 years later.
  8. Matty is not short for Matthew. It's actually short for Maitimo, who is a Noldor Elf from Tolkien's Silmarillion, more commonly known as Maedhros. He was known for being tall, red-haired, gorgeous and having one hand. I chose Luminos in reference to the Silmarils themselves; crystals of light.
  9. This outfit was for the underworld party at Chiaroscuro last night. Couldn't get a decent pic whilst I was dancing so I went back today to try again.
  10. 1,000 is the minimum, that's the complexity of your system skin texture. Zero only appears when an avatar hasn't rezzed its four base system parts yet (shape, system skin, system eyes, system hair). I always see it when I TP into a new place, or when someone TPs in to where I am, it lasts a few seconds and then rises in stages as their various bodyparts rez one by one.
  11. Part of the hairbase is applied to the Tattoo layer on your neck. Go to the Eyes/Brows/Neck-Tattoo tab of your hud and the section right at the bottom is for the neck. Select Upper or Lower depending on which layer you applied the hairbase to, and click Clear. If you can't remember which layer it's on, try sliding the Blend slider all the way to the right. If the hairs disappear, you're already on the right layer.
  12. I don't own any actual Kittycats but I do have a couple of Jian Forest Cats. They are wild cats so they live outside, but the ginger one sometimes follows me around. Probably more out of hunger than affection, tbh.
  13. It wasn't directed to me specifically but to all non-binary people in general, it was said as a joke/sarcasm (which apparently is supposed to make it non-offensive) and I am not allowed to say who because that would break the rules of the forum.
  14. I joined SL first time round in 2006, shortly after the introduction of free Basic accounts, which I think was in May or June of that year. That right there was a big generation gap, and a big surge of population in SL. I certainly felt at the time that I belonged to a very different generation within SL because of that difference. The true SLOldbies are the ones who never even had the option of a Basic account. Hard to pinpoint any cultural difference between 2006 and 2008 when I started my second account, because I just switched one day from one to the other and since both avatars looked basically the same, I don't really remember which milestones happened when, without going to look them up. I think the introduction of mesh was another cultural and generational change, because that raised the bar for content-creation to be out-of-reach of the average user. Anyone can make stuff out of prims and when everyone is making stuff that way, anyone can compete. But mesh is far harder and that's led to SL no longer being a creative platform for most users. So there's another cultural divide, between those who do (or did) create their own content vs those who never have and probably never will. I think mesh has contributed more towards SL becoming primarily a social and consumer-driven platform, far more than any attempts to integrate Facebook/Twitter etc. It's primarily social now because for most of us, that's the only skill we have here.
  15. I'm an "it," apparently. Well this is how fabulous an It looks.

  17. I hate Voice in SL, even though it would undoubtedly make communication easier for me. I don't mind listening in, and I sometimes have voice turned on to hear what's being said but I reply only in text. I would rather type back than spoil the immersion that my voice would cause. Even more so now that I've adopted a more feminine appearance in SL. No, you don't want to hear an elegant elf talking like some old bloke from the Rover's Return.
  18. I just looked up what is included in a Julbord and it makes me wish two things: 1) I lived in Sweden 2) I actually liked meat of any kind (though I would be all over the fish courses, every single one of them).
  19. Yep, turkey is big here too, and Brussels Sprouts are a key part of the Xmas Dinner experience. Just make sure to steam them for no longer than 6 minutes (8 if they arevery large ones). Don't boil them for 25 like my granny did. That's why most people think they don't like them. Soggy sprouts are horrid.
  20. Mesh ones generally come with the shoe, because they have to fit around the top of the shoe as well. Lapointe & Bastchilde do some very nice ones. If you're able to wear the shoes without using any alpha, then applier socks would be your best bet. However I did find these, which are mesh, and look like they include a version that fits inside shoes. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/NOCHE-Ultimate-Socks-Shawn-Essentials/16809317
  21. I've sent you an email. It got rather more personal than I want to share here.
  22. Terminology doesn't really matter all that much to begin with. But for your reference, textures are images that have been uploaded to SL from your computer, and photographs(snapshots) are ones that have been taken in-world and saved to inventory. Other than source, they are the same and can be used in the same ways. For me, I had a friend who introduced me to SL and in the first few weeks, taught me what I needed to know about the basics of using the viewer, editing my avatar and making simple prim objects. I also went to a few classes at NCI in the early days but there are not so many of those now, and it really depends on your timezone, since they are mostly in US-friendly hours. I think the best option would be to find someone who speaks your native language and ask them for some one-on-one guidance. You can find places geared to some languages by searching Places for "Newbie" + [whatever your language is]. Once you are able to understand the basics, then you can do as @Bree Giffen suggests, and tackle a more ambitious project.
  23. Apologies for the poor quality of this pic, its a raw shot taken while I was dancing. Trying to capture a moment when I didn't look like some kind of freak, and ended up with one where it didn't look like I was dancing at all.
  24. Virtual Ability is still going strong and still has several sims, five I think. You may be interested in this video which was published last year: It's long but worth watching. I do it the first way; as soon as mesh made it possible, I modified my avatar to have a missing arm, just as I do in RL. Then again, my disability doesn't impair me much in RL; I might think differently if it did.
