  1. Granted. You are as tall in RL as you are in SL, but the difference is all in your neck. You now look like a giraffe. I wish 2020 will be happier for everyone than 2019 was.
  2. I did something similar with my first Linden Home, which was fairly close to a river. I didn't have anything scripted but I built a wedge-shaped prim (invisible) and when I wanted to sail, I rezzed my boat on the top, sat in it, closed my eyes and held my breath. It did usually land in the water but it was sometimes a rocky ride.
  3. But how do you find rez-enabled places to do that, outside of Bellisseria?
  4. Proof that Cristiano does sometimes not wear a tux. 😁
  5. I am there, honestly... Happy New Year, everyone!
  6. That tiger avi was an old one, though they added omega appliers at a later stage so I applied the skin to a mesh body & head (Catwa Justin and Gianni, I think, in that pic). Swapped the original tail for a bento one, but I had no luck finding omega-compatible digi feet to fit Gianni so I just went with normal human feet, though you can't see them there. I guess customisation will be easier with Maitreya and BoM but I haven't gotten round to doing that one yet.
  7. New group gift from Truth; Eternity. I'll be wearing this (including the gown, that you can't really see) to a New Years Eve party tonight.
  8. There should at least be a dock with an orange lifebelt on it; click that and it will bring up a menu to select from one of 4 different boat styles. If this doesn't work, you'll need to raise a support ticket. Something has certainly gone wrong; there should never be no boat in the parcel. Are you absolutely sure you're in the right location?
  9. With my first new Linden Home (a Traditional) I did. My next door neighbour even sent me a gift when I moved in. On regular mainland, no. In 6 months I never even saw anyone else online in the entire region. On my new LH Houseboat; not yet; again I haven't seen any of my neighbours online yet.
  10. I have a sort-of-furry avatar that's similar; not as weird-looking as the ones from CATS but this one uses a furry-type skin over a human head and body. It looks like a furry from a distance, and it's definitely more furry than neko, but doesn't really belong with either group. Also, this is not a new thing. Remember Beauty and the Beast (the 80s TV series)?
  11. If you're accustomed to dressing a classic system avatar, going Bakes on Mesh is just as easy. Once it's set up you dress your avatar in almost exactly the same way as you did then. The set-up process varies depending on brand of body. Signature and Slink are ready straight out of the box, just wear-and-go. For Belleza, you just need to pick up the free installer from the main store. Wear the body, wear the installer, click the installer, and it's done. Other bodies work similarly to Belleza. Honestly I think Bakes on Mesh should be the default starting point for everyone coming to mesh bodies for the first time because it eliminates 90% of the things that are confusing and difficult about wearing mesh. Especially on heads. The only hard part, for guys, is finding a good quality system skin.
  12. "Would I be working in a place like this if I could afford a real snake?"
  13. Slink demos only have one foot. You have to buy the full package to get the other one. I don't know for certain, but I think the separate feet are not bakes-on-mesh ready out of the box (unlike the full body). If that's the case, you'll need a Bakes on Mesh installer for the slink feet. There might be a free one in the store but if there isn't, you'll need to buy an Omega relay for Slink, plus a Bakes on Mesh installer for Omega. However, there is no way to get female slink feet to fit male mesh bodies. The point where they would join... doesn't. The female ones are much narrower.
  14. Yeah I wasn't keen on those. You can't wear socks with a ball-gown at a formal dance!
  15. 1. Signature Gianni, closely followed by Belleza Jake 2. Yes, with any mesh body you can keep your classic head. If you go Bakes on Mesh with the body, you can keep the same skin and body tattoos too. 3. Probably Jake. It's cheaper than Gianni, and is almost as well supported for clothes.
  16. I have a resolution for 2020 and it's actually a SL project, to create a set of tarot cards entirely using SL images. I reckon it will take me more than a year to complete it, if I ever do.
  17. Don't gut anything out of your inventory just yet. With Bakes on Mesh still a fairly new thing, it can still be useful even with a mesh body, should you decide to go that route. All your old system layer and flexi clothes will still work just fine with a Bakes on Mesh avatar. Well okay... you can get rid of those old bling shoes. Anything with invisiprims that is no-modify will have to go, as invisiprims have been deprecated and no longer work. The issue with parts of your body poking through even with clothes made for a specific body, is solved using the Alpha Hud that comes with your body. Just click the hud in the parts that poke through. For a really easy (and completely free) start with a mesh avatar, I'd recommend giving RuthToo a try; specifically this version, with Bakes on Mesh already built-in; https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/RuthTooRC3-Bakes-On-Mesh-Female-Body/18174055 You'll also need the Extras pack for the high feet; https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/RuthTooRC3-Bakes-On-Mesh-Extras/18174085 It's incredibly easy to use, just wear the body, head, hands and feet and it automatically uses whatever skin and clothing layers you have on. This body has no hud (except for colouring the fingernails and toenails) but it doesn't need one because this is true bakes-on-mesh as it was intended to be; clothing alpha layers will work on it, which doesn't happen with commercial mesh bodies yet (Except, I think, Slink?) This means that even though there's almost no clothing specifically made for it, you can still wear any mesh clothing made in standard sizes that includes such an alpha layer. Basically, you dress this mesh body in exactly the same way you dressed your original one, except that you have to swap your feet when changing from flat shoes to high heels, and vice-versa. The advantage is that it's a much smoother shape without the ugly lumpy bits, especially hands and feet. The head is very nice too, and responds very well to the shape sliders (unlike some other commercial mesh heads out there). Incidentally the feet on this body fit Maitreya shoes.
  18. Bellisseria can't provide the BDSM but there are events going on within the continent nearly every day; there's a thriving entertainment scene there and everyone is very friendly. Some residents have turned their homes into public venues; there's a popular Blues Cafe and a coffee-shop and even a formal ballroom. And of course the Fairgrounds for major, Linden-supported events like the current Bellisseria-on-Ice. There's a group called Bellisseria Events; I recommend joining it and going along to some of them to get a feel for the people there. You don;t have to be a Belli resident to attend the events.
  19. When I was still using my Signature Gianni and Geralt bodies, the only type of heels I could get to work were either ankle boots, or the old fashioned type of shoes with sculpty feet built into them. Either way they will need to be modifiable, or have a resizer script built in, as you will have to make them much bigger. You'll need a shoe that works when you alpha out your entire feet because Jake doesn't have a "high feet" option like female bodies do. It is impossible to wear shoes rigged for a female body, on a male one. Shoe-shapers on a mesh body affect only your hover height, they don't change the angle of your foot like they do on a Classic body. My favourite store for such footwear is Vlad Blackburns, because everything there is old-school, unrigged and super-modifiable, and they are also very cheap, so if you can't get something to work, you haven't lost a lot of money over it. With your feet alpha-ed out completely, it won't matter what colour the shoe-shapers are, but for reference, if they are modifiable, you can edit them and change the texture to transparent. Or you can change it to a tone that matches your feet, to hide the manky toenails you get with bakes-on-mesh. Ultimately though, this is one of the issues that got me switched over to a female body instead. Maitreya plus V-Tech plus a male skin plus a shape that's as bulky as you can get with Maitreya, is the option that worked best for me.
  20. OOh, I would definitely be up for this. I sometimes go to watch theatrical dance performances and cabaret when I get the opportunity. There's one dance troupe I follow in particular; they are primarily Dutch so they perform at convenient times for us UK peeps (I am UK too). I'll hit you up with a friends request when I'm logged in.
  21. I do this. I have my RL gender mentioned 3 times in my profile, I wear bulges, I never have breasts and I even wear light facial hair most of the time, even when I'm dressed completely femme. I figure that if someone doesn't want to talk to me because I'm not actually a girl, I don't want to talk to them either. On the other hand, I'm not trans and I identify as male in both SL and RL; it's just that I enjoy dressing femme in SL. It also helps weed out those people who IM every woman in a place without reading her profile or even taking a closer look at the avatar. If I get a sexual approach from a straight guy, I know he's not looked any further than my hair and clothes. However I can understand why some trans people take the opposite approach, SL is often the only place they can be their authentic selves, and if they are open about being trans, they will often not get treated as their authentic selves. No need to pressure the OP into no longer hiding it though; the decision to be public is already made, hence the post and the group.
  22. Looking good, that hair works very well.
