  1. Green and red markers have disappeared from SSP "atoll" this morning. Folks working over there or maybe testing.
  2. Materials don't display in the SL uploader. And you need to upload both the model and the textures and apply the textures onto the model inworld. There are some other possible problems that can arise of course -- one being using too many materials (you can have 8). Lots of info for Blender 2.78 and 2.79 in my tutorials. https://www.slartist.com/browse-the-tutorial-chic-videos-1-date.html Also in playlist form on Youtube. Good luck.
  3. Down to seven land impact points - OH MY! But since my parcel is packed to the gills (or fence line) and looking great there are no big worries. I only need decorative clutter in the upstairs bedroom and that will present itself over time. Meanwhile I decided to move the pottery bench and decor into the little guest house or whatever and make a pottery studio. The old pottery area became a 5 o'clock visiting area. All good.
  4. I am going to agree with @Sasy Scarborough that the VERY OBVIOUS gaping whole in SL fashion is "ordinary clothes for men". I have a couple of friends that I was helping update (they are not fashion=wise by any means) and it was REALLY REALLY tough. Cut out the folks that don't make things well and you have a handful of brands to pick from. So, definitely that is a market to look at. If I liked making clothes it would definitely be my target. Also note that in order to GET the bodies that you will need to be able to create for (guys or gals) you pretty much have to run a gauntlet and prove that you are a great creator and are worthy (yep) to get the pack so that you CAN make things. This is reasonable really from the body maker's point of view, but it is a big stumbling block. My suggestion would be to test the waters here slowly and not to give up your "day job" Good luck!
  5. Know at least part of the story but happily wasn't affected even in secondary mode -- at least so far. That being said another person "happily not affected but could have been" had an immediate answer, "that is WHY I have my store on mainland and always have". Sometimes we need to move (up in my case) because of neighbors from hell, but unless LL goes under we are safe. A good point.
  6. Have no clue what this means but I don't think I care either. Enjoy your private island.
  7. Working on a new project I found a sim up north with only THREE houseboats on it. So 3 to 26 seem to be the current range for number of plots per region. Just passing that along.
  8. I know you didn't mention "100 houses" but that number isn't even CLOSE to the number of available plots --- I forgot how many but between 2,000 nad 3,000. Abnor was going to tell us but if that happened I missed it. BUT ---- to your comment above. Wanted to put in here again that Patch did tell us they were going to run out and he also advised that folks NOT leave their current Linden home until they checked the status of the new homes (very much a paraphrase but I am pretty sure I quoted precisely on my NOTES on the talk which should be somewhere in the SSP thread). This was at the radio show presented at the Home and Garden EXPO where the demo houses were shown off first. Granted, very few folks attended that event, but I did and I did report all the salient point here on the forums so that folks reading the forums would know. So while there wasn't a giant blog post to the masses about a need to get your plot in the first hour ---- there WAS information available. And there were houses for a couple of days (houseboats went faster) so it wasn't really that you needed to log in and grab one at the VERY moment they were announced. You didn't even need to be able to log into SL; you could just get one via the website -- so that opens up notebook and phone possibilities away from home. Grab one on your lunch or coffee break. It was easy for the first day. The empty house thing --- it is true that some folks may never put anything in their house OR in the sky and just log in there to change clothes. And yes, they do have that right --- they paid their fees like everyone else. On the plus side they are helping to keep the lag down. I think the bigger issue is for the folks that are looking at "community" and want everyone to take part. Obviously that isn't going to happen, but I can see how empty houses would bother them. I was looking at those houses as interim places for some folks that were waiting to get one of the new houseboats coming up. Probably it is a mix of several things. It will be interesting to see how many empty houses are left after the reroll.
  9. Depends but I have gone over and LOOKED physically where the new place is "supposed to be" LOL and it hasn't been there. I seem to have a a later map that some folks as things get reported here and I don't see them for a few hours. Not sure how all that works. Only one person there now possibly working on flora and rocks and beach umbrellas as the map shows empty sand at the moment. Getting there. Hopefully my guess of "Tuesday" last week will be a good one, but if not we will just wait and see.
  10. Hey I was just counting green dots over on the new "atoll" at SSP (five folks there now) and I noted something I don't THINK was mentioned about those red and green boxes. If you look closely all the RED boxes are inside 1024 plots next to houseboats while the GREEN dots are in the center of the regions. So it seems LIKELY that the red dots are about houseboat rezzers not working correctly and the ones where they are all working are green. So that doesn't necessarily mean that the REGION is all finished (some have been missing flora for awhile and folks have been working on those empty areas). Not sure why it took me so long to notice that :D.
  11. Looking at this from a sim design point of view, why not add the hot springs INTO the snowy lands? There ARE places like this in the corporeal world. Take away most of the spring look (flowers, mesh grass etc) and find a "snowy early Spring" ground texture for that area of the build. Use STEAM instead of waterfalls and have snow around the hot springs but not close to the steamy water (fitting in with the RL theme). Seems like that approach could work for everyone AND be quite engaging. Good luck. And yes I agree the season change is certainly not against any TOS. We (unfortunately) have dark green dense grass in the middle of the beach sands with trees that would NEVER grow in that climate LOL. We happily also have fences where I live so it isn't so jarring.
  12. Did you try loading into a different region? Just in case, that is typically the first move. Try Plum or Smith for example.
  13. Yes I remembered that but they were just out there for everyone. Bay City also. This seems different but I don't remember reading anything about "use".
  14. I didn't want to start another thread so putting his here. Calling @Abnor Mole with a question that hopefully can be answered easily. I had a friend contact me just now wanting me to send her the texture pack from the Linden Traditional Homes. I said I wasn't sure if that was the plan and that only the folks owning the houses could get the house textures, etc. So my question is, are the house textures just for the home owners are are they for all SL citizens? Long ago some similar textures were given out to anyone who wanted them. But this current method seem more structured. Thanks for any input.
  15. I counted the new ones in the staging marina at SSP, nothing to do with the current number on Bellisseria. No idea there.
  16. I don't like fixed landing points either --- but I currently HAVE one at my shop. This is because I have a TON OF LANDMARKS out going to the ground level and I have moved to the sky (mainland - breedables at groundish level). I also put a BIG "CHIC" silver sign on the ground hoping folks that come from the Places Pages see it and buy the landmark for 0 and get to where they want to be. I will eventually put it back to land everywhere, but for now that is my best solution. It has nothing to do with rezzing (I designed the new shop to rez REALLY quickly ) or ads (hate those). It actually is about trying to help folks. And my place is small so it isn't a big deal to walk to where you want to be. Hopefully that is an "acceptable" reason for the OP LOL.
  17. 695. I counted and added twice a couple of days ago and posted. So likely that is VERY close. Only counted slips with houseboats, not empties There are still empties on Bellisseria so some I guess just don't get used (ambiance? LOL)
  18. While avatars are separate entities so far as Linden Lab is concerned the GOVERNMENT doesn't look at it that way and so far as REAL dollars being moved -- LL must comply with government rules. If you cash out over a few hundred dollars a year (I thought it was 600 long ago when the new rule came into effect but support can tell you exactly) you need to prove who your are for tax purposes. I DO KNOW that money earned in Sansar gets added to the money earned in SL for tax purposes since both platforms are owned by Linden Lab. And LL can easily see that you sent money to your alt in order to cash out. And yes, LL almost always knows who your alts are :D. If you try and work around the cash out limit this way it might look dishonest. So I would definitely do some research and ask some questions (billing) before trying that as red flag waving is NOT a good thing. I can tell you that they look at three months of cash out before raising your rates; when you apply for a rate raise and don't get it -- that's the info you get back (or at least did). So let's say you made 1200 and could only cash out 999. You have leftover dollars which get added to the next month. You cash out 999 again and now have even a larger surplus that you can't cash out. This "in theory" needs to happen for three months to show that you REALLY need your limit raised. You might be able to get it raised before that if you have a long history of making money and they can see that you are "legit". If you think about it, you wouldn't be asking if you didn't think it was somehow wrong to try and circumvent the process.
  19. I am one of the VERY select few that has no cell phone. THAT is on purpose LOL. Hopefully timing will be good for you.
  20. Take your notebook or your phone with you if you can. You do not need to be IN SL to grab a houseboat. You only need to have access to the website. Even a library would work LOL.
  21. We all have to learn, but honestly it would be better IMO to advise those residents to go to a school and get some basic building skills -- which really, everyone should have. There are just SO MANY WAYS this linking trick can go wrong, I shutter when I see these advisory threads. Yes, for folks that build and understand it is easy, but many have forgotten how hard it was to learn those skills. But feel free to put some steps down. The folks reading this thread have been warned a few times. ONE more thing that is pretty important here and hasn't been touched on. The MORE you put in your house (unless you really understand how the viewers work) and the heavier the mesh is --- the more you are increasing LAG for yourself and everyone else. Put too many small heavy mesh objects (the greatest offenders normally) in one area view and you can watch your framerate plummet. This ALSO affects your neighbors. So MAYBE using more optimized mesh and remembering that empty spaces are important to design is a key point. :D.
  22. Well, JUST LIKE LAST TIME (a reminder there) everyone has the same chance :D. I think the houseboats will be easy enough to get (again for those paying attention)--- IF people aren't terribly picky. If they start rerolling to get a better spot then they may lose out. I can't imagine anyone giving up a beachfront house for a houseboat (well we know where MY choices lie) but I did see a really nice beach lot that still hadn't been occupied so I guess it is a possibility. I know at least two people who are trusting that "I" will inform them. LOL. It will certainly be interesting watching the race. To be FAIR, some of the folks that signed up on the Update post may have lost interest again by now. Happens.

    Shopping

Putting names in post as you have here is against the forum rules, so you need to remove specifics == so "a product" and "the owner" instead. If the seller has a redelivery terminal you can use that to get your item redelivered. If it was from the Marketplace you can now (in most cases) get your item redelivered from the Marketplace without contacting the seller. It has only been a day and it is the weekend when many folks don't log in. So waiting another day or so would be appropriate, then write again (both IM and Notecard unless there is special contact instructions in the seller's profile" would be a smart method.
  24. I posted this earlier on another thread recently (we are obsessed it seems with saving LI LOL) But here is how you TELL if you can link something together and get it to SAVE (and often it wont). There are THREE parts to the land impact equation --- download, physics and server. The LARGEST one is the one that is counted. You can see that info by selecting an item and then clicking on "more info" in the build menu. IF you item (as seen below) has low download, physics and server numbers you can link to another item with SIMILAR numbers and get a "bonus" in land impact. So in this case all the numbers are below one. Good! If I linked TWO of these vases together they would become ONE land impact. Any two items with the highest number that when LINKED add up to 1.5 or less will become ONE. Anything above the X.5 (any number for X) will round UP and sometimes can be MORE than the items are separately. It is also important to note that you shouldn't link scripted objects together -- this is more for decor pieces. IF you link three objects together it will ROUND UP to "2" even if the download and physics are very low. 1.5 in the SERVER setting rounds up.
