Not everyone is obsessed with knowing exactly how tall (in RL terms) their avatar is

This is the biggest issue, IMO.  SL wasn't, isn't and probably will never be completely scaled to RL dimensions.

If you're in an adult area and you stand next to the bar and your chin is resting on the bar top, you're going to look way too short although that alone would probably not get most people tossed or banned from a region.  Yeah, yeah, your anime character is 600 years old but anime faces look childlike.  Childlike/teenish is what MOST sane venue owners look at anymore and NOT height.  Looking at the OP's pictures, I'm guessing the overall look is what's causing the issue and not just the height.

It's not too too bad if you also cut movement speed by about half. Last time this discussion came up (found it) someone touted these trailers as being a good example of realistic sizing so I took a blurry video:

When I was new one of the first things I did was reduce my height to something realistic.  (And learned to make a measuring stick, my first lesson in building.)  For the next few months as I slowly modified all my dimensions people kept asking me if I was a child avatar.  It all suddenly stopped when I lengthened the neck.  I've only been asked twice since.  Proportion apparently is important to perception.

Never mind the rooms... stairs are sometimes difficult for this shorty gal to climb lol. I occasionally jump up stairs and hills, or else! 😏 (It depends... sometimes I'm annoyed by it, other times it's amusing.)

nya o,o happy new year to everyone tho.

i stay with my opinion, the height standards which the human community makes in SL is redicioulus. i mean i agree to the point that when an avi looks childish and is short, should they probably get thrown out of an A sim. tho according to ToS are child avis aswell allowed in A sims. but, they have heavy restrictions like you could get already in trouble if you stand next to a bed. iunno if you really want that xD. tho like mentitioned. furnitures are often so huge that you look like a kid even if you are 180cm+ tall.

to all the trolls which automaticly accused me that i am the one which does something wrong and that i complained to every single owner possible, sorry guys but you can have a bad new year telling you expecially to stop playing SL for a month or 2 and leaving your basement to see how tall peoples are irl and not staying inside for another 20years of SL and forgetting the real world outside there, expecially that owner which said its a rl based sim but everyone was 2meter+tall, i hope he/she reads this XD.

at the end know we all that the height standard in SL is very wrong. some say it is right but still know its wrong because of how tall peoples in SL are since the beginning. others say its completely wrong. (like me). simply because peoples want to force me to follow their standards and i can not be what i want in SL. imagine its suddenly the other way around and all the peoples here which wrote "i am short irl, so i compensated it with a giant avatar in sl" but now everyone suddenly says "no, you are too tall" and you get like banned on sight. not longer that nice for you guys right?

with that would i close this topic but am sadly not a mod here owo

i just wanted to express my feelings about how badly the human community (furry and anime alike, i´m not gonna blame only the human community here but you know, its mostly you guys xD atleast thats my experience) enforces this 2meter+ ***** upon SL even tho peoples wrote here that there is not really a set height.

i still say LL could simply solve this by setting a fixxed height in Adult sims aka a height which says "you are an adult with this". sure, it wouldnt stop those owners from making still their own rules but peoples can not longer frigging accuse you of ***** and threatening the hell outta ya second life account to get your butt banned because in their eyes looked you like a child/teen avatar.

i myself have felt the weaponization of the report system back in early march 2019. 1 salty ass kid had a issue with a few friends and myself. they ended up  paying for a bot service to mass attack people who entered a region with 1000's of accounts spamming and sending objects notecards you name it  to everyone causing viewer crashes and unable to log back in, also reporting them for age-play triggering auto bans within a hour or two. I myself was a victim of getting my account terminated. how ever after a week or so and 40+ tickets to LL to have the termination removed. a head account specialist named Kristin Linden took over the case and deemed the ban invalid  returning it back to me a few friends also had theirs reinstated  but sadly most were not so lucky and gave up

https://gyazo.com/720039a41eca7c2d455f07e62669f45f  a EG of what happen ignore the poor quality i had a spud PC back then heh.  but yeah after 1 min of that spam it crashed viewers   and later account on hold/terminated

Stairs usually look horrifying for me. I've had builders apologise after seeing me stagger up them. Though the best was still the Relay For Life track where they thought it'd be fun to have water over the road in one place, so people would have to wade through. What covered the knees of most human avatars went right over the heads of tinies.

I agree. Lets be real, people know what a teen looks like, they're not just short looking adults.

I have as of yet to be asked to leave a place while in my tiny avatar, I think proportions may play a large part in it.  Also, I'm not very social and when I am in adult sims that are active it is almost always when there is a Lindo or fishing event going on.  I've always thought my avatar looked to be in her 20s, and AI agrees with me.

I don't recall being propositioned to while in this avatar, which is a bonus.  Some people get a kick out of her, and switch over to a tiny avatar themselves, but that is about it. She actually stands about as tall as a standard kittycat, my avatar is closer to the camera in this picture.

I think proportions are key here,

As long as I can remember there have been either extremely tall or small / tiny avatars AND a lot of very funny shapes.
I'm something around 1,75m sometimes a little taller or smaller. I once was as tall as I am in RL (1,64m) but didn't like it because I was a dwarf compared to others. I never really made a shape that is 2m tall because proportions don't look good then any more (my opinion!). I make my own shapes and I like them to fit the golden ratio.
Go to places that fit you the best, if someone banns you, don't discuss. It's their place and they will do whatever they want there.
Do I like avatars that are 2m or more? No. I just accepted it and moved on.

Although obviously not taken in SL, your profile pic, below, shows 2 anime(ish) characters who look very teen-like.  Perhaps that contributes to region owners assuming your avatar is under 18?   Another pic in your profile also shows a character that looks younger.

As I said, many region owners may SAY it's height but it may also be several contributing factors in their decision.

Hopefully, if the pictures were "chibi" that wouldn't be judged the same. Characters of all ages are drawn as "chibi" sometimes.

Depends where you are at in SL.  Quite a few adult areas have a height minimum and just like someone said that they do that out of fear of having child avatars in their area. The avatars and shapes I bought never had any issue with height.  The only exception was the free head was was offered over Xmas had a really small shape.

Children have larger eyes in proportion to the rest of the face.  Their faces are generally rounder as well.  Smaller buttonish noses.  That's what anime and chibi characters look like and why some adult venues will not allow them, period regardless of how tall they are.

If I had an adult club, I wouldn't allow them but that's my personal opinion.  Every region owner is entitled to their opinion, also.

If avatars could transform into chibi like, with a gesture, that would be cool. Like how manga characters do it for a single set of panels, or like how anime characters do it for short comedy relief reactions/skits.

As a child avatar (I play a preteen), I HAAAAAAAAAAAAATE what I call SL Scale. Buildings with 14 foot ceilings, door handles so high that I can't reach them, chairs that I need a ladder to get into, props and other items being 2-3 times their real size, and adults being 10'3". In SL, I'm about as tall as one of my dad's legs, and I'm still quite tall for the age. In RL, my brother's 9 year old is approaching my average adult height. I find it beyond frustrating that everything in SL is built for people who are the size of giants.

But LL won't do anything about it because it can't. Everything in world is user made. All we can do is call on builders to stop doing this, call on residents to dial back their avatars, and call on sim builders of realistic sims to make them to proper proportions. I'll never be able to afford it because land is overpriced, but I would love to build a modern day neighbourhood that is scaled for real humans. Buildings with 8 foot ceilings. Props and furniture that people can actually use. Stuff like that.
