I don't bite!

I sometimes do 'confused' when I really am confused on the post - but sometimes the confusion isn't important enough for me to request clarification.

Consider the source.  They're obviously a bit confused about a lot of things which is plain to see by their posts.

Peeve: when the makers of the best guitar string sets won't sell you singles made to the same high standards. (yes, Martin, I'm looking at you.) The G always needs replacing first unless you often play in alternate tunings - then the strings you habitually retune break long before the rest of the set needs replacing.

And they're just getting started.

As per Thomas's concurring opinion. They're not even pretending anymore.

It's going to be a long fight, but I hope American women know that they have allies elsewhere. This has to be our fight too.

For now (and for a long time) it is going to be a fight at the State level.  Congress can't really even do anything - even if they could get consensus.  They won't have a chance of changing anything until the makeup of the Court changes.

Indeed.

A system in which individual states get to determine what fundamental human rights are granted to a sizable percentage of their population . . . why does this sound familiar?

Oh. Right.

As you say, most immediately, the fight has to be taken to the state level. But there are going to be further assaults on rights -- contraception, same-sex marriage, LGBTQ+ rights -- and some of that will be happening at the federal level. There is a need to safeguard availability of the morning after pill, as well as the rights of women to access abortion outside of their states -- and not be charged with murder on their return home. There can be funding provided for the latter, and laws to ensure the free movement of pregnant women. There need also to be laws to safeguard the privacy of medical records, as well as the date harvested from menstrual apps.

And, for the love of god, something like universal maternity and paternity leave, healthcare, and child benefits so that those women who ARE now going to be denied access to abortion at least have some assistance after they've given birth.

But of course, and as you say, the fight now moves to control of individual state legislatures. Polls show that a majority of Americans continue to support access to abortions. That needs to be leveraged and enlisted.

It goes on. And it will even here, in Canada.

Just move to California. We have a largely liberal-minded population and Democrat controlled legislature. You can find houses of this style in some areas too.

You forgot to mention....

Don't invoke "thread lock"! Lulz!

Next, people will post "IBTL" stuff.

Pet Peeve: When people post "IBTL" stuff, I naturally assume that they reported the thread! Or they jinxed it!

Also, big reminder to anyone that uses them: If you have a period tracker app, ovulation tracker, or anything related: DELETE IT, and request your data be removed.
Those can and will be used against you in the instance of a questionable loss of a pregnancy.
