How Does Your SL Look Today?

Ya know, if you'd just asked me, I'd have happily distracted him long enough that you could just pilfer whatever you wanted from behind the bar for yourself.

Ra helps those who help themselves, as they say.

I was thinking of grabbing a few drinks while sitting on on him, but noticed he made employee of the month and worried he might lose his prestigious ranking if management noticed alcohol missing from the shelves.  Plus, there was a picture of ancient mole who had been banned entirely from the bar, I would not want the same fate for either of us, although having a picture up there next to a mole might have been nice.

I wonder what shenanigans they got themselves into.

My SL...  It started out with just sitting and staring out into space until I felt decompressed enough to feel like exploring.

And explore I did.  I went to the Destination Guide and picked a pretty garden to visit.  It WAS really pretty, but I guess I wasn't done sliding through the shades of gray in my mind.  I wasn't really feeling the cheeriness, so those shades of gray continued into the beautiful landscaping.:

I just continued wandering the gardens until the color came back into my attitude.  It did.  It always does.  Someone reached out at that time - just another stranger in SL.  Like nearly every other time someone reaches out, I answered and met yet another amazing person inworld.  No passes or anything inappropriate.  Just a hi and a comment about my profile.  Nice people are everywhere in SL.  I meet them nearly every time I log in.  We chatted for quite a while about everything under the sun, friended each other and, made a plan to go out dancing sometime.

Here is what SL is to me in one photo:

SecondLife is sitting in a giant cushioned umbrella floating in a pond in a beautiful garden while chatting with someone from another country and culture about the things you have in common and the things that are different.

While James distracts Le Chiffre, I look around to ensure no one is watching as I attach a listening device to SocialCasino Linden's water bowl.

Note 1: @Katherine Heartsong already took the cigarette girl role, so I was left with being the "Bond Girl." Grrrrr!

Note 2: The casino is a nightmare for pics. The texture thrashing is terrible, suggesting lots of 1024 textures, and the lighting is nuts, with a rotating spot that wiped out my own point lights every time it swooped around in my direction.

Well, Caitlin needs a "Mom", in some of our RP scenarios, so who better than Swallow? Looking a little older to make it more feasible...and looking like she has a bit of... "experience".

It wasn't all that easy to find things that add a bit of maturity, without overdoing it. Caitlin's "Mom", is supposed to be about 20 years older, which looks about right to me in this pic.

Thank you for rephrasing this, Sandor. I can now "like" it in good conscience.

What did I do to make it sound better?

You substituted "experienced" for another word that meant something rather different, and was honestly a bit misogynist.

I'm not going to repeat the word. Suffice it to say that losing it made a difference in how this older woman was characterized.

I guess I was just editing to make it sound good. I didn't realize I had posted it, and then edited. I can't remember what I wrote. Either way, there was no misogynistic intent. You wouldn't like her character though.

I don't need to like her. She makes her own choices -- and I might agree or disagree with what she believes, does, or says, but the point is that she has that right.

Which is different from a characterization of her coming from a third party that denigrates her and, by wider application, other women.

No matter, Sandor. I am sure you did not intend anything sexist by your language. Whether your edit was conscious or deliberate or not, I appreciate the much more value-neutral phrasing you have chosen. So, again, thank you.

What's actually fascinating, is the amount of women , and men to add, who enjoy degradation and humiliation as a kink. But wouldn't tolerate it for a moment outside of fantasy RP (whether RL or SL). And then there is the aftercare that BOTH parties require, to ensure that it was play, and not something real. Caring and trust are VITAL for our kind of play.

@manoji Yachvili's newest installation at the Onceagain Art Gallery is called "Secret Garden." The lovely title somewhat belies the content of the exhibition, which is a frequently dystopian and rather grim view of our future in a world of climate change. It's beautifully done, sobering, and a little shocking in places -- and it features some of her own photographic art as well.

I dropped by today and did two shots, one of which I've already posted in the the "Tastefully Nude" thread of the Adult forum. This is the second one.

Inspection Day at the Farm.

Pigs, check. Horses, check. Chickens, check.

Photorealistic Cow, check.

*Edit* I can't remember which Cartoon Network show had an occasional "photorealistic" animal as a running gag. My guesses are "Ren and Stimpy" or "Ed, Edd, and Eddie".

Fun eventful Saturday in SL.  I met @Gregorian Chant at the new Victorian community region and we played a lovely game of chess.  Neither one of us really knew how to play and the game froze so it was a draw.

I felt short, but really enjoyed chatting.  We did manage to crash a hot air balloon.  Maybe the Chalet Community Center next for a pint?

The gardens were absolutely gorgeous!

I was stopped short at the view of the moonrise behind my LH
