It has two versions, one for 'inner only' and one for the whole package. The latter is a bit puffy by design, probably to work without clipping too much. Feel free to give me a nudge if you need help figuring it out.

Basically these kinds of attachments either have to 'cut a hole' in your mesh body and put themselves there, or rest on top of it.

For Maitreya only there is one brand that does the cut a whole solution, and it has gaps... not a perfect fit. Fitting that is very hard if you're not the original maker of the body I guess.

VAW rests on top. The inner only version... looks really weird. In large part because it is almost certainly going to fail to cover whatever your skin maker painted in that spot. The other version will look swolen because it has to puff out enough to fit all the 'parts'... and uses a transparency gradient to try to blend with the skin underneath which will vary in quality depending on what the skin maker chose to pain under there (some of them paint the female anatomy way to high up in order to avoid pixilization issues).

There's not much you can do here... except get used to it...

It seems to me like there is a great opportunity here for one of the more skilled fitmesh makers to make one that 'cuts a hole' without seams or gaps - and works for more than Maitreya, but at least for Maitreaya, Freya, Legacy, and Slink - at a minimum, and then for the outer part, works with the base body UV map / omega... you'd still have the problem of skin makers that paint something there... but once you had an omega version some skin makers might make a version of the skin with no details there just like they supply skins with no nipples painted on.
- I'm kind of surprised that we've had fitmesh bodies this long, and no one with the level of skill has risen to the challenge of making a product that would likely sell like crazy...

To be fair, a lot of people don't have any at all and are quite content with the drawn-on thing on their skin.

.. Fair do's to them, but they'll get no better than a prim frenis from me.

For Maitreya; there is one lady part for sale with Omega relay and it Pro Bento Vajayjay - personally I find it pretty good because I can make it match my skin perfectly but not sure if anything else for other mesh bodies.

A few weeks ago I was reviewing v****s... the products ... The set of reviews is here. The VAW XTC Rigged review is here.

The VAW rigged Bento version is available in only 4 sizes (Sept 2019), Freya, Isis, Hourglass, and Maitreya. The Hourglass works OK, not perfect, on Physique-Original.

The VAW v**** seems to have been made for Maitreya (I am guessing) and then adapted for the other bodies. When you use BOM you can make an alpha layer that handles the imperfections.

I thought the two best v****s out at the time I wrote were The V and the Vajayjay. Both are for Maitreya only and unusable on my Slink bodies. The V is what I would buy if I wore Maitreya.

I wear a Maitreya body. For years, I wore the !Xcite X4 cooche. It didn't keep up with the technology, so I switched to the VAW XTC Rigged part. It looked amazingly better. It's chief shortcoming is having only three states. My alt has a Pro Bento Vajayjay v2.3. I have never been able to achieve a good color match to her skin, no matter how much time I spend. I could be wrong, but it appears to me that there is no gradient to help hide the color transition.

My current favorite is the The V. It  looks very good, perfect color matching is almost automatic, there are plenty of states, and it can be worn under most fitmesh clothing without being hidden and without showing through. Its shortcomings are that it cannot be hidden (without being removed), it does not contain the Maitreya autohide script and is no-mod so I can't add it, it is slow to respond when the state is changed with the HUD, and, if it's important, it doesn't do things like emit fluids, make sounds, etc. I think The V would please the OP, since it pretty much follows the same contour as the mesh body.  If she will catch me inworld, I'll be happy to let her see mine.

If you have a session skin, I can advise you to look at their new-ish vag. The V

Looks really good, and matches perfectly with the session skin, unlike any other one so far. They also have a BoM & applier version of their skin tones included with it because that has different shadows than the drawn on vag version of the skins, so it matches better with the V.

I do also own the VAW version, that looks fine too when only using the "inner only" option, because when using the full option it just looks a bit odd and never matches perfectly with body and skin.

Got curious and sent Neph over to grab a demo from both Session and the Vajayjay ..

The Session demo doesn't seem to contain the 'thing' itself, but just the HUD and a system layer and an applier. Their lightest skin is nowhere near light enough for Neph anyway though - too bad, it looks nice in the promo (checked two of the boxes, it was included in neither). The skins look nice, but doesn't really cater to vampires. Why the demo wouldn't contain the product itself is beyond me; seeing a HUD and wearing a BOM skin that warps the nether region doesn't tell me much.

The Pro Bento Vajayjay works quite nicely, although at an altitude I had seam issues with its fit. I also had to really dig around in my inventory to find a skin that was omega compatible. This obviously broke my BOM setup, and you'd have to find a skin which is offered both as a system layer AND an Omega applier for it to work with BOM - or you can try tinting it, which is a PITA. If it was BOM compatible, I'd probably get it (not sure why though, I've worn my VAW once or twice since I bought it - Neph doesn't do any adult stuff). I was surprised with how low avatar complexity it had though, considering how extensive the interior mesh is; although generally I don't mind high complexity or even script of genetalia, as I don't consider it something one should hop around in the general public whilst attached, anyway.

If this is the one I believe it is, my one alt with Maitreya grabbed that to test and on closeup I find seams / a slight gap around it.

And...

If you need this kind of product chances are you will also be doing a lot of closeups there...

Will have to see if there's been an update.

Gawd, I hope they don't talk. The old Excites or whatevers talked. It has been a long time since I've "needed" a part for my lady garden. Not sure I need one now, but ya know, to be forewarned is forearmed or something like that? Be prepared? Anyway, I appreciate the Consumer Reports type of journalism that is going on here and the blogosphere. Painted on was just fine... /me looks down and sighs

Ok, so I've never demoed one of these in-world, so I'm just going by the pics. And what follows is a purely personal reaction: I'm not trying to dictate taste to anyone.

But honestly, I quite like the painted-on one I have. It looks pretty good, at a relatively normal distance. Yeah, I'm sure it pixelates if you zoom in really close, but why would you want to do that anyway? I mean, seriously: just find some decent online porn if you're focused that much on *coughs* the detail.

And, for my taste, these scripted ones that (that open and shut like an oyster, as they used to say in the good ol' 18th century) are a tad too gynecological for my taste.

However, as I said, I've never tried one in-world, and YMMV anyway.

(Mini rant, slightly off topic, but...sue me) Once I passed noob stage (assuming I have), I've always thought that the pixel parts, for both sexes were kinda... unnecessary. I mean, if you and the other person can't emote yourselves into a frenzy while fully clothed and possibly sitting on separate parts of the sim, definitely not needing pose balls, then perhaps someone needs to up their typing game a tad? A similar gripe about RLV. If you have to push a button to get my avatar to do something, something I can easily get out of by logging off, then.... RLV is useful at times for some things but as a general rule... meh. Imaginations folks! (Meanwhile I'm shopping Marketplace for vag demos, which is a wonderfully SL thing to write.)
