I definitely get it! I am forever in search of a place I can belong on SL. I created my avatar so she would be more accepted than I am IRL but so far no luck. I take long breaks, and every time I sign on again I am here for about a half hour and grow bored and leave again. People say to use the groups which is all well and good, but I am looking to fully interact with other avatars, not just type in a group. You are not the only one.

I get that. I don't barge into people's homes or IM randos in stores. I go to places that are supposed to be social expecting others to want to talk. Kind of like forums. Weird concept, huh? I check destinations and events all the time. I didn't post my message without trying on my own first.

I actually did a search after I read your comment for coffee shops and found a few. Most people were AFK but I am going to keep trying. Thank you so much for your help and for being kind!

Thank you for the suggestions- I will definitely check them out. Also, thank you for not being a douche like some other people that commented. I'm not sure why people feel the need to be mean, but I appreciate a kind comment.

Believe me, I search around for fun spots. It's odd how for such a social game no one wants to be social. Or I get comments like this. I'm finding it hard to make friends on SL.

Can you recommend a good coffee shop? That is what I have been looking for! Someplace chill that I can sit and talk to people.

I'm a fan of new friends to explore with. I've found most people either a) want me for sex or b) say they want to be friends but never talk. I'd love to start up a group or something!

Hi all, I know this question has been asked to death, but I have searched the forums and google, and every place I go (believe me I have been all over the place!) is empty. Where does everyone go to socialize? I know places if I am looking for sex, I know a few clubs to hit, but I am looking for a few places I can go and just hang out with people. I find that no matter where I go, it is either empty or no one is talking/talking to me. I'm looking for something to do on SL, because honestly, it is getting super boring, and I know it shouldn't be! TIA!

I came across SL because of the SVU episode "Avatar" (Season 9.02)...no, really. I've seen the episode a bunch of times and I finally decided to see what it was all about. (You know you've seen an episode too much when you don't pay attention to the crimes, but instead the virtual reality part!) Being a NOOB still, I don't really do much on SL. Vixie started out as pure sex...XXX all the way...it is a fantasy after all! But that is growing tiring, and I am now looking for the community that so many on these forums talk about. Vixie is much younger than I am, but I find that I'd like to bring a bit of myself into her, if that makes sense. I've tried looking for groups and places, but no real luck.
