I rotated the stairs 90 degrees, changed the colour to white, added small platform up. I guess this suits better with the house colour scheme than the first version. (A third option would be to remove the small platform from the top of the stairs and instead extend the whole balcony floor there.)

House: Winchester Region: Donovan Prim allowance used: 242 Features: One bedroom, one bathroom, wrap around porch, half-covered back deck, entertainment area, sandpit, fire pit, and landscaped gardens. Notes: I preferred the smaller styled homes and didn't want to use the same model as most others, but the addition of a back deck was ideal for the location overlooking the canal so I persevered. I tried to squeeze as much detail in as I could for such a large house and still give it that lived in look, while keeping at least 100 prims spare for my animesh baby Riley. With her rezzed I still have 10 prims spare for attachments etc. I also purposefully reused the same plants to link together and save on LI and textures loading (though likely a moot point with so much other clutter to render). The sandpit was born out of necessity to fill that corner of the yard without adding a pool, since the house is situated close to a pool and beach, and gives some illusion of a family home. Still not overly happy with the bedroom but can live with this for now. All in all though I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. ^ Front of house ^ Front porch ^ Entrance ^ Kitchen and Dining ^ Bathroom (looking in from door) ^ Bathroom (looking out from shower) ^ Bedroom (looking in from far corner) ^ Bedroom (looking out from leaving bathroom) which bedroom addon is that one please

The one in those pics has the bathroom floor and shower recess built in so it's all one mesh. It's not perfect by any means and not scripted which means I have to drag/drop the Linden wall textures included in the creator pack to change them, and its not officially for sale, but if you would like a copy let me know. If not that's okay too. 4

So I played around with your design a bit trying to decrease that vertical line. You still have a lot of windows this way but the horizontal is more emphasized than the vertical. Not bad, but I think that the original Winchester has the vertical posts on the two gables, and I am trying to echo it. I haven't had so much time this weekend. I fixed the window frames a bit, they had some transparent faces turned out. Ugh. I have worked on making the better floor with cutout for the stairs. I bought a pre-made floor with a cutout from QPG. It don't work so well. The stair itself is also from QPG, but I must build it in better. And adding some posts makes it look more imposing. This time, I save cutting out the windows as my last step. I have not been smart before, and cut them out too early. Then the walls move a bit, or I find out that they sit too high or too low. When I save the build with the walls, floor and staircase finished, I can use it again for other window combinations, not just one. I still like the roof terrace, I have stopped calling it a widow walk. And I like the long wall without windows very much. Will take a picture, and show why, when I log in. 4 hours ago, RaeLeeH said: Agrees with the majority; 3 has my vote. 👍

Ah okay. The original has the vertical posts directly touching the windows. Also, it doesn't have the verticals going from ground to roof line. Yours connects to the roof line creating a very strong vertical with the peak of the roof. Perhaps moving the verticals inward to hug the upper window and cutting them off at the mid line like the original would be the answer. Anyway, it's just my observation. I think it's awesome that you are taking on such a challenging project.
Blush Bravin
Getting ready for Fall in Belli. Rezzed out my favorite Linden home, the Alderley. Added my porch and bricked up that front gable wall. Added a lot of trees to my parcel. I haven't done much with the inside yet. But I did change the linens on my bed. And of course, I have put in my closet.

I think it's awesome that you are taking on such a challenging project. It makes me age faster, I tell you. The problem is that I want so much, and it is hard to raise my skill now to meet my wants. I would be a wonder if I could build as well as those who did it for years. One thing is for sure, it is hard. And I asked for options. I will consider every combination. Marianne Little
It is the first time I can use the Practical Kitchen from Hive, because it isn't in modules, but long pieces. Ignore the lack of styling, I just throw in some furniture around. And the low quality JPEG images. I don't feel for taking PNG and edit them. This isn't something permanent. . Or, I can pull out a really large sofa. Or a big TV - if my male avatar will come in and decorate in his style. 😄 Edited September 8, 2019 by Marianne Little

Marianne Little
I think I made up my mind. It will be no. 3, and I will keep the vertical planks. I like that they break up the long side. I need to work with recalculating normals. Sometimes the transparent side is turned out, it is hard to see before it's textured in SL. Especially on small details like the baseboards. I think I am close to what I want now.
Marianne Little
But the inside is giving me problems. The aquacolored stick is the default LH Winchester wall, with white trim over and under. And the green prim is the window. I placed my windows at the same top height. This does not look good. I can: Lower the windows. They will then look unnaturally low. The room with the blue wall is the second floor. The windows is lower there, because of the gable. It is a much better height Edit the windows, stretch them to size. Or make the wall shorter. This can give the outside a shorter look compared to the original house. Edited to add the outside measurements. The Winchester has a slightly lower wall and wider trim for the veranda (pink top) and the other walls are the stick to the right side. Orange is for the bricks, then the first horisontal board, then the wall, and the middle horisontal board. I hit the height for the middle horisontal board good enough.
