If this happened several years ago, and you only found out because a friend who does play that vampire game told you, it seems to me that there was not any real affect to your avatar at all.  The fact that your name may appear in some list that players of that game can see didn't affect you at all, prior to your friend mentioning that information to you.  So I would just shrug it off and continue on as if it hadn't happened.  If you don't play the game yourself, then just ignore that your name is in some list that belongs  to that game.  Also, if you're that concerned about vampires, you might not want to associate yourself with people that do play as vampires.

Billi Billi Billi..... I've never been a bloodlines player - active or non-actuive   That page is undoubtedly as a result of me allowing one of them to bite me, just to stop them from asking me. Also, I've never worn, or even had, their hud. I may have indulged in their garlic thing though. I don't remember why but it ro=ings a feint bell. It's such a long time ago.

The page doesn't lie, if you were bitten without the hud, you wouldn't show up in bloodlines search.

If you are bitten without the hud, your soul goes to the abyss, if you are wearing the hud, the person that bites you gets your soul.

If you weren't wearing the hud when you got bitten, then the next person to bite you after you wear the hud gets your soul

However, you were only bitten once,  by one person, so that person must have bought you the hud before they bit you.

So now we know why the vampires leave you alone, your soul is already spoken for. Its not in the abyss, you can sleep easy now

I have no recollection of being asked to wear a hud so that the person could bite me, but I can't swear that it didn't happen. All I remember is that I was asked if s/he could bite me (it would have been a she, of course. I wouldn't let a bloke bite me, for goodness sakes! ), and I let her so that others would stop asking me. What I can swear to is that I've never been involved in Bloodlines or anything remotely similar - never. So there!

That's the thing I have a recollection of. It could be that I only heard of it at the time but did nothing.  I don't mind people having me on a list. Heck, anyone can add any avatar name to a public list for any reason. Our avatar names are not secrets. You can put me on your public list if you like . If you have one, that is.

Re: being bitten with or without wearing the HUD. Long ago, before I knew anything at all about any vampire games in SL, I once met a chick vampire at a random but for sure non-vampire sim (it was mostly shopping mall) and said Yes to her bite request (mainly because I was hitting on her and I was pretty sure the bite would advance the runner, so to speak). At least a couple of years later a friend who it turned out was an active player told me my soul had been taken by said vampire chick. At no time did anyone give me a HUD; the only affirmation I made was to the "official" bite request where you agree to the animation. Thus I agree with Phil's recollection.

Things did move along quite nicely after the bite, as I'd hoped. As it turned out that resulted in an absolutely hilarious situation which regrettably is impossible to report here without being far too graphic. There aren't enough asterisks.

That is not what shows up when i searched  for Phil. He was and still is an active member in the bloodlines database.. because he wore the hud before he was bitten

Nope. I didn't wear any Bloodlines HUD at any time, and the only Bloodlines thing that I'm a member of (not an "active" member, btw, and never was an "active" member) is a list/database of theirs. I accepted that when I allowed someone to bite me. That's it. What you missed was the difference between Dillon and I. Dillon got and wore the garlic thing, whereas I merely heard about it. Hence the differences in the pages.

You keeping on saying that I wore their HUD is stupid, and I'd prefer it if you would stop saying it, because it makes me sound like I was one of them, when I wasn't. I already told you that I didn't wear the HUD (I never had one to wear), and you repeating that I did is effectively calling me a liar, which I'm not.

ETA: According to your theory, a person only gets into the database when they have participated by wearing the HUD, in which case you are calling Dillon a liar too, because both of us said that we never wore the HUD. Your little bit of humour seems to be getting out of hand. At least I assume that it's humour, otherwise you really would be calling us liars, when all you are doing is showing your ignorance in the matter.

i'm not trying to attack you or piss you off, i just know how the bloodlines system works. If a person wears the hud and is bit, the soul goes to the person that bit you, and thats what your bloodlines page shows.

Dillon didn't wear the hud, his soul went to the abyss. Even without the garlic necklace he would only show up on a page listing all the victims of the vampire that bit him, there wouldn't be a special page dedicated to him.

If you think I'm lying I can invite active vampire friends of mine to join this discussion and they can explain how the system works, and your current status in bloodlines.

Could it be that the hud was a later addition, perhaps to stem some of the criticism? The system seems to have changed through the years and Phil and Dillon have been around for a very long time.

I'm curious if I'm in the database, would you please look me up Billi? IRCC I avoided bite requests and was given a garlic necklace fairly early on.

your search shows no results found, same as mine. That is the only search status that shows you were never bitten. If you were bitten and wore a garlic necklace afterwards, you'd have the same search result as Dillon, "player removed from database due to wearing garlic necklace" .

Bloodlines is a game system where you gain "points" and advance in status by collecting souls. Souls are game markers to see who has the most "points" The hud has always been at the center of the system.

"no results found" for you either. You were never bitten, in fact its impossible to be bitten if you wear the garlic necklace, the system doesn't permit it. Only if you  wear the garlic necklace after being bitten will show you have been removed from the data base.

Since you were never bitten, you were never on the database to be removed from it

I can remember being bitten back in 2009 when I was about 3 days old  (clueless noob)  I didn't wear any hud I just remember the blue box (it was also around the same time I was told I was going to give birth in 9 days but that's another story)  clicking to accept and then some time later was advised to wear the garlic necklace.  I can't remember much after that but nobody has tried to bite me again

So, where are we now,

1) Phil Deakens is a human in the Curse hoard, which i think is is kind of a dumping ground hoard for all "non active" members of bloodlines

His soul went to the only vampire that ever bit him, just  as the hud was intended to work. That vampire later gave it away to someone else .

2) Dillon Levenque was bitten hoping to get lucky, his soul went to the abyss, and he wore the garlic necklace afterwards to hide the fact he was bitten.

3) the other two i searched have never been bitten.

Does the other vampire system, the one where people can be bitten without having any interaction with it at all (from their side) not work on points then? I thought their vampires wore HUDs which collected the equivalent of points too. The bitten don't even have to accept the bite request in their system, let alone wear a HUD.
