  1. C'mon, it is all very simple. 1. Never believe mainstream medicine and doctors who spend a lifetime studying and researching, ever. Life can't be that simple. They studied to misinform people and implant secret WiFi transmitters. 3. Always blame Bill Gates and the Clintons somehow. They did meet each other you know. And of course her e-mails. 4. Never have a point 2 in your argumentation. More seriously: I don't give s*** any longer what others think about the whole covid-19 situation. I stick to the basic rules (1.5 meters distance, wash my hands often, stay away from crowded places, wear a mask in public spaces, get vaccinated and stick to the rules anyhow, but less frightened to go out.) I don't feel the urge any longer to try and explain stuff. If experts can't convince certain people, I certainly can't. There is unfortunately no medicine against stupidity and stubbornness.
  2. In some parts of Limbabwe we have errepel and petatte as well
  3. I'm introverted too, but was for more than 33 years a fulltime teacher in RL. That is all doable for an introvert, being social all day at work with lots of people around you. But I totally needed my time off in the evenings, weekends and holidays. Time for only me,myself and I. I never had a long friends list in RL to share my free time with. Loved my job though.
  4. I agree that there always should be limits to the rule bending. But we do bend. All of us do from time to time. Even if we say or believe the opposite. 'All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.' - George Orwell, Animal Farm. And we all believe to be (and in the western world de facto are) in the more equal group.
  5. Most landlords start with very good resolutions in their covenants. But monitor the rules and enforce them is chapter two. Especially if they are only a small percentage above their break even line. Almost always you read about no ban lines, no eyesores, no building up to the parcel borders and lots of other blabla. And if you fly around a bit on the sim, nothing is really enforced, afraid someone might take their business elsewhere. If they only knew how many don't rent with them (like me) because of not enforcing their o so lovely covenants.
  6. People are in general rule benders. Everywhere. RL, SL, on Mars, you name it. And I consider that as a good thing. most of the time, when done modestly. Look around what happens in countries were everything is enforced strictly to go by the book.
  7. It is all about what you do in and want and expect from SL. If you stick to the things you are used to do in SL, than it can become boring. Just like in RL. There are very few people who keep partying every weekend or hang out with the same people all their lives in RL either. When I was in my teens, I could not wait until it was weekend again, because party time. Now I'm sixty+ and my best weeks are those with very little or nothing in my agenda so I can do whatever I feel like doing. Like editing my posts.
  8. Where I live in Bellisseria there is no 2 meter distancing but at least 256 meters most of the time. Meaning standing alone on the sim.
  9. What is there much to smile in SL with the fees, costs and prices lately? 😁
  10. People don't get killed, banned or fined if they (accidentally) reply in an older thread. So what is the problem?
  11. I'm I a lucky fellow or what? I haven't used a wig in SL since 2010 or so. Bald is beautiful.
  12. I can't change fees and yes I can fold and leave as an answer. And I can express worries about the fees, because I still like the place. And that is what is happening here for the most part. But in the end it is take it or leave it Adjust your lifestyle if needed. I can build on a premium sandbox instead on my private one. I can live without land or exclusively on my Bellisseria plot. I won't walk around like someone homeless when I don't buy another outfit this year and stick with the furniture I already have. I can tip the staff of venues I visit less. But is that really what I want, to help out LL and their investors? Once used to a certain SL lifestyle, how modest it might be, it is hard to cut it back. My boss isn't shelling out more shekels this year with a percentage that SL raised premium fees and now exchange fees with. So the raised expenses are on me. I have to cut back RL or SL to continue in SL.
  13. I think the prices will be still that high one year later, or even higher. /me shows himself out.
  14. You have to have your plan completely worked out before you even buy or lease the sim. If you think that you can all do that when you have the sim, the USD 399 starts ticking the moment you purchase / lease a sim. Another tip: don't calculate on a basis that every home is rented out all the time. Almost every sim that leases out houses or parcels has a percentage of vacancies all the time. Look around, look around and look around a bit more on all those sims out there that already offer this kind of service. How do they collect the rent? How did they split up the sim, How do they advertise it and where other than a sign on the land (or best IMHO, without a sign on the land) I always had simular plans in the years when I first started in SL. I never had the guts to make it reality. My final conclusion after years of investigating (with the idea on a back burner on and off): Too much financial risk and too much time involved on daily basis, to do it right. This can't be done as a weekend hobby. Tenants want answers and solutions when (or very soon after) the problem occurs or most of them will walk pretty soon.
  15. Or the friend is cheating, or SL is borking and it needs a ticket to inform LL.
  16. Mainland was mainly very ugly in 2007 when I started and evolved into empty and ugly in 2021 IMHO.
  17. Bellisseria is mainly empty as well. I hopped around from home to home a bit lately because of my new SL business. There are hardly people in most sims and even half of the houses and boats are totally not or very modestly decorated (like a bed and a chair somewhere and that's it)
  18. I regularly work on my inventory. At the moment I'm rearranging my texture archive and I trow the real garbage ones I collected over the 14 years out. So no real spring cleaning needed. When that project is finished, I will start to overhaul my archive folder. I expect that sorting that one out, will become a multiple year job. 😱
  19. And now one of the big upcoming summer hits of 2021. Remember that you heard it here first.
  20. So basically you want top notch photo's for peanuts or less? Good luck with that. It is totally normal that if you want custom work done, that you at least give an indication of what you are willing to pay for a good photo. And then photographers who work in your price range will react with their portfolio. Someone who delivers quality pictures wants quality payment, otherwise do it yourself. There is a photo button in your viewer and there are tons of freebie poses and nice scenery in SL.
  21. For me SL is reasonably lag free, as always. Only when I TP in or out of Bellisseria, there is most of the time a lot of grey. The moles use a lot of 1024 x 1024 textures in their decorations where it is not really needed IMHO.
