Look at all the games, the pictures on the box are never exactly what you get. TV commercials show stories with the characters that are never possible when you install the game. Of course they don't show a sim crossing that goes sour at their home page, or the gray world after TP-ing into Bellisseria. This thread smells a bit like: "Yes!! we can do some LL bashing, let's do plenty off it." to be honest.

The McDonalds burger and the KFC chicken nuggets in their ads don't look exactly as what you get once inside the "restaurant" either. So I cut LL some slack. Exaggeration is common in advertisement.

Thanks, these tips can be helpful for me too. I once bought a fat mesh avi, piggu Jonathan, that I pretty much can tweak so it looks almost like me (for 80+%) in RL. But I never wear it, because of the lack of a good AO.

I don't use a real budget, but I have a monthly cap for myself. Premium plus 25 Euro a month. And because the Marketplace sales are up, I seldom need all the 25 EU in a month these a days. Not being into the fashion-mesh bodies rat race helps a lot too. I'm not afraid to use mesh clothing that is years old aldready. And I agree, that Europeans who don't use Paypal in combination with one of their other RL bank accounts are stealing from their own wallet by using CC and Tilia for the exchange.

That, a thousand times that. Customers will not sit there and let themselves be robbed through high fees. They will find cheaper solutions. You simply can't charge the same rates and tarifs on mirco transactions as banks and CC charge on bigger transactions. That is the surest way to end up dead in the water. Not knowing or ignoring the costumer base kills companies and potential great ideas IMHO. Want an example of that near to home? It starts with an S and it ends on ansar.

As long as using the words government, regulation and taxes are almost seen as swearing in the USA, the States will be miles away from the standards in infrastructure, medical care and public education etc., where most of the Western Europeans are used to.

I had a quite successful door store for years. Like Polenth already stated, ad boards did not help at all. If you have an in-world parcel, make sure your parcel shows in search and that you use relevant keywords in your search text.

I'm Dutch and I pay with Paypal in USD for my L$. Paypal is a bank in the EU and it has therefor far better currency transition rates then CC's. My Paypal account isn't linked to a CC either for that reason, but to my Dutch bank account. I canceled my CC years ago, when PP became a bank in Luxembourg.

Why did you even bother to ask the question here? You don't seem to want helpful answers.

When one starts to use SL one agrees on the ToS. If LL makes changes one agrees again on the next log in. So everybody in SL has agreed upon the LL ToS. You never can say: "Sorry but I didn't know", when you are caught violating the ToS. You personally checked the boxes. Of course almost nobody reads the complete ToS on agreeing, but everybody knows that there is one, and when in doubt you can always read the sections that you need to spell out, to see if you're good with your plans.

Showing less is almost always more. Nothing is as quickly boring as only nudes around you. RL and SL. The package is as important as the content. Look at the trouble all perfume brands go through, to create their eye candy bottles to put their smells in.

Land makes a big chunk of their income. Every discount comes straight out of their wallet. With more than 25,000 sims on the grid a relatively small discount like 10 USD a month would mean 250,000 USD a month less income. That would mean that they would have to lease out a huge amount of extra sims before earning that back. And that would still not bring owning a sim in reach of everyone who dreams about it every now and then.

It is all a matter of take it or leave it in the end. If you are not satisfied you take your business elsewhere. That is the normal procedure everywhere. Supermarket A gets to expensive? I try supermarket B. The quality of the jeans at store C is not as good as in store D? I go to store D. Only thing is, where is elsewhere when it comes to SL? And another fact of life is: There is no such thing as a free lunch. LL has to pay the bills and make a profit. It is a business. Not a charity organization.

I still remember 14 years ago, I was a noob only a few days old, there was a place that catapulted you into the sky and then you came down with a parachute. Only I forgot to get the parachute. That felt as a real sensation, I was totally worried that my avatar would splash in thousand peaces at landing. So yeah, parachute diving is an option too to enjoy SL.
