  1. Unless it's changed, gamers usually call that swiping. Because when you move the mouse to turn you have to do it in a swiping motion by picking the mouse up and setting it back down as quickly as possible. Takes way more effort than just hitting one key. No, I'm not a lazy game player (I am not a gamer), I just use what is quickest and easiest for me being left handed and all.
  2. Taking that out of the changelog context is distorting what it actually says. And you necroed a 6 year old thread just to try to stir the pot? Obvious stirrer is obvious.
  3. What works for you will not work for me. I don't care what other people do. They are not me. Are you left handed? Is that how you know there are so many left handers in SL when we comprise about 10% of the world's population? Is that also how you know all those left handers use the number pad instead of WASD or the arrow keys?
  4. It's also ancient news. Or is this yet another suit they have filed against LL? Same lawsuit apparently https://www.accesswire.com/560643/Worlds-Inc-Files-Patent-Infringement-Lawsuit-Against-Linden-Labs-Second-Life They're trying to drum up support because they rarely win any of the suits they file. This one will fail just like the last one they filed against LL.
  5. As a form of advertising, FB, Twitter, Flickr, all of those, are worthless. They do not reach the target audience because most of that audience isn't on any of those websites simply because those sites are not part of SL and not owned by LL. Advertising on those sites isn't going to bring in new customers. The majority of people on those sites have no interest whatsoever in SL or anything outside of their social cliques, if they aren't already a resident. And yes I am one of those people they will never reach by advertising on any of those social media sites. I don't swim in toxic waters.
  6. No, we don't. I've always used the arrow keys and never turn number lock off.
  7. My guitars are all left handers ;op~ I can play right handed but the lefties feel better so I play left handed. Besides, left handed guitars retain value better. *smug*
  8. I did concede to your point. Sorry if that wasn't very obvious. It just didn't have anything to do with my point that you seem to still not get but it's all good. I'm not upset or anything and I hope you aren't as well. Cheers!
  9. I think that is the next step in the chain for me. And yeah what Lindal said. Retaliation. So petty. Much childish. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen. Cupcake. What happens on the forum shouldn't affect one's ability to be inworld, imo. That is double jeopardy, in the sense that you are being twice placed in jeopardy for the same offense. It's even in the 5th Amendment: "nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy [of life or limb]"
  10. Seriously. More like it's easier to not actually read the posts and see what happened and just warn/suspend any and all, regardless. Which one? There have been a few over the years. Frankly, I don't blame them. Most of us are capable of (and do) "policing" ourselves. We're all supposed to be of an age that we don't need to be protected from every little thing that might offend us. But hey, you know, its LL's playground so we have to follow their rules (however arbitrarily they are enforced or made up on the spot) if we want to play here. Doesn't mean they have to be just about it. Justice doesn't serve LL's bottom line.
  11. Fifteen years without so much as a warning in SL and like you, in the months since I've been on the forum I've been warned and suspended. Once I was suspended for calling someone sugarpants after they called me honey. Other than the so called infractions themselves, you and I have had the same experience. I bet there's a pattern here. And not on the posters' end.
  12. It was in the LIA thread or the Hangers thread. Either way, it amounts to the same thing so you've got my backing on it.
  13. It wasn't quite up to your usual standards but I suppose it will do in a pinch.
  14. ok. Still the OP never mentioned renting on a homestead. That was my whole point. In fact, in the OP's second post they stated they wanted mainland, not private. So the whole back and forth over homestead LI allowances is a moot point. And that's my lint licking nit picking for the day.
  15. That's usually the case. We just sometimes get caught in the crossfire. So to speak.
  16. I tried suggesting something like this in another thread. It got shot down in flames. I still think it is the best way to go. A small continent, maybe, dedicated to preservation of builds that rotates the builds periodically. Maybe bi-annually rather than quarterly. That would give more opportunity to tour the builds for more people and be easier on the workload of the Moles. Or whoever would be doing the rotating.
  17. I dunno about you but I could use the $25 a month to plow right back into SL...
  18. I am left handed and the answers lie in the past, in how left handed people were treated (and why). Part of it has to do with eating and which hand you wipe with. Wiping with the same hand you eat with was one of the things considered taboo. Offensive? Think of how us left handers felt whenever we were attacked for using our left hands since most people are right handed and use the left for wiping. There's a whole lot more where that came from. If you want to know the truth you can do the research yourself. Even today, centuries later, left handed people are ostracized for being left handed. Handedness is genetically determined before we are born. https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/why-are-some-people-left-handed-6556937/
  19. I figured out how this happens finally... look at where your cursor is sitting when it happens. If it's hovering over anything in the dropdown that's what it will select when you hit enter so move your mouse first. Works like a charm.
  20. I beg to differ. I don't believe they ever do discover reality. If they did, we'd all live in a much better world. Not perfect, mind you, just better. Much better, imo. The needs of the many outweigh the desires of the few.
  21. Don't tell me. I already know that. Tell them! They seem to think they can.
  22. Good thing you weren't asking me. I'd have said about 98% of the male SL population that I've had the displeasure of meeting. Which has been quite a few.
