  1. I'm thinking that is temporary because they do not want anyone getting close to the new Victorians before they are released.
  2. For the longest time, since the Expo doesn't end until the 15th, I figured they wouldn't want to fuss with a release and possible issues going into the holidays, I was pretty sure it'd be something like the 2nd week of Jan. Then, seeing their progress after things became visible, I started thinking they just "might" release next week and still think so - for a short while I thought they might even manage towards the end if this week. If they don't do it next week, I just don't see it happening during the 2 holiday weeks -- too many LL folks possibly out on vacation. This ^^. I can't see pine trees in the Victorian area, implying that either that is a picture of the Home Decorating area of the Expo - which I haven't see yet - or Patch has his own special Victorian area set up somewhere. I've been calling it South Belli. I just haven't really liked any of the various 'Vic' nicknames yet. I have no doubt that we are providing constant amusement to Patch and company.
  3. You cannot upgrade to a Victorian home. The Traditionals and the Victorians are two different themes. You will have to abandon your Traditional or use a Premium alt to get a Victorian.
  4. Interesting how interpretations can differ. I was wondering who he was pondering on killing and what they might have done to deserve it.
  5. Well if nothing pops up over the next couple of days, there will definitely be a bunch in the upcoming HUGE release, that might happen as early as next week - though nobody knows for sure about any of the releases.
  6. I'm one of those that only occasionally go out onto the water, but wanted the houseboat for the views - and I got one with fabulous long distance views without having to derender tons of stuff.
  7. ?? "release time" ?? I'm going to say sometime next Mon-Wed.
  8. Comfort is all campers. These are going slow or lots of abandoning going on. I've gotten a couple of different locations now.
  9. I'm doing pretty well today. I managed to resolve a few issues at work that having been hanging me up for a week now. I also did that darn performance self eval thingy -- rated myself exceptional for most of it, of course.
  10. There is no actual "new player" area. There is a specific Question / Answer section, with many sub-sections and there are various Discussion forums with many sub-forums. The Question/Answer area is: https://community.secondlife.com/forums/forum/109-answers/ The top of the other areas is: https://community.secondlife.com/forums/
  11. While Patch said that the Victorians were all part of their original plan, it is totally possible, and likely even, that the changing of wall colors either individually or by room, was an added function based on comments in the forums and folks creating interior wall shells to allow for such. Many of them have said all along that they do watch the forums and do make notes of things to try, even if not all things suggested/requested are feasible for any number of reasons.
  12. Way back at the beginning of Bellisseria, Patch mentioned that he needed to create "at least 30,000" homes. I'm guessing that number was to replace all existing ownership of the old Linden Homes and to allow for some unspecified amount of padding for new owners and to actually still have unclaimed homes when done. I have no clue how close to that number they are. From looking at the area of the original release and knowing that it was roughly 2300 homes - if I remember correctly - and looking at all of the total area we now see, I'd guess they are currently around 20,000, including all of the new stuff that we can see that isn't yet released.. Here is all of the current area with the original area roughly outlined. At least I think the outlined area is the original release - minus the camper area in the west and the camper area in the NE because those sections were bare in the initial rollout.
  13. Now that all of the regions have finally rezzed in on the map, most of the stuff west of Jeogeot doesn't look as odd and out of place as it did before. However, the lower pieces still look out of place, sort of like an afterthought (see pic). Maybe the houseboat centipede should shift to the side and get a twin, offset up/down a region to keep it from looking too identical. Or something anyway.
  14. I have no doubt that they will all get an "official" notice that the homes must be vacated by some such date - and they will very likely get a follow-up reminder as well. Hopefully, LL will actually blast an email out to all parties that still have a place on the old continents. Or if they can't manage to email only the parcel holders, then at least send an email to all Premiums giving the date when the old homes will be decommissioned. Back in the beginning of Bellisseria, Patch had mentioned that he needed to create at least 30,000 new homes. I honestly don't know where we stand in regard to that number, but I'm not so sure that we are close enough for them to be kicking folks out of the old homes yet - despite some thinking it will be shortly after the new year.
  15. They look like the monopoly pieces they use when doing the landscaping - to make sure nothing pokes through the houses. So maybe they just haven't gotten those pieces removed yet and will pick them up when they get to those regions for their final testing. You can see the same thing along the western coastline. I'm somewhat curious about these two regions that have never shown any indication of houses (per my memory anyway) - and just noticed that Daulton and Crieff also don't appear to have any houses:
  16. To add to what Alumna said about grabbing something and abandoning it -- you are limited to 5 homes per day (or maybe per 24 hour period - not sure we ever figured out if that was a by the hours or by calendar day).
  17. You'll very likely be able to get something super easy sometime in the next week or two or so when they do the HUGE release -- the new Victorian homes, lots more houseboats, some more traditionals and I think some more campers. Still not totally sure when that will be.
  18. I had actually sent an IM to the owner of the NW corner parcel on Haengbok that her offsim stuff might get returned soon because it was overlapping where the houseboats were at the time. Though if all of that is now to be sailing waters, she'll likely still get her offsim stuff returned anyway, even without it overlapping a houseboat parcel.
  19. You have to have 1024 sqm of tier available - 512 if you only want a camper/trailer. You can own other mainland though as long as you are willing to pay monthly for more tier -- or you could own 512 sqm of Mainland and use your other free 512 for a camper/trailer. If you want to own Mainland and pay for more tier each month, update the setting on your Land Use page: https://secondlife.com/my/account/landfees.php Then go to your Dashboard: https://secondlife.com/my and click the yellow button to the right that says Get Your Home Now. If none of the new stuff shows up, keep refreshing or wait for the big giant release coming soon.
  20. Just log out and back in. The restriction was put in a while back to limit the auto-refreshers from hitting their servers too hard.
  21. My previous screenshot was for an alt that had already paid through 2021, so it let her renew through 2022. LittleMe did not do the prepay before, so her renewal was in 2020. The current deal lets her pick one or two years of prepay also. SO it looks like the modification will let you prepay 1 or 2 years, whichever takes you in to 2022 - or roughly thereabouts. Before the recent change, it wasn't giving that alt a prepay option at all.
  22. They are still rolling out 1-2 regions per day (weekdays, most anyway) and they have a HUGE new batch of stuff that will be released sometime in the next week or two or so.
  23. There is no wait list. It is first come, first server - and they are currently all taken. Thought LL does do 1-2 region releases per day and there are always folks abandoning. Also, sometime in the next week or two or so, there will be a HUGE release of lots and lots of new homes. See this thread:
  24. While something like that wouldn't insult my intelligence, I sure as heck wouldn't be wish someone a good afternoon - or saying anything else nice to them - if they had just peed in my yard or anywhere out in public.
  25. It's not a rebate, it is a lower payment up front. It is $10 cheaper for paying one year in advance - or depending on your current renewal date, then $20 cheaper for paying 2 years in advance. The old rate was $79/yr before the increase a few months ago. The new rate is $99/year. This current promo simply lets you get your next renewal at $89/yr if you want to pay them now instead of whenever it comes due.
