  1. So even though the odds are like a bazillion to one, my Camper alt is still trying for one of those coveted island spots in Hooten Holler. So tonight, I went through my 5 tries - got 2 different spots in Doodah and 3 different spots in Huney Junction. While refreshing the land page, I did see a Trad and a Vic go by.
  2. I like the new look. The comment about the nose was totally in the context of "if trying to match the System look". I think it looks good the way it is, but do think it looks a bit wider than the System face. So the comment about the width really only applies if she was wanting to match the System as close as possible.
  3. I don't know that it is actually social media though. I've encountered folks, old and young both, that couldn't go very deep long before social media was a big thing, back before the internet was huge.
  4. Ahhhh, I wasn't thinking about the old ones at all. I'm not sure if they have any rules about security orbs over there. An orb with 10-second warning and TP home might actually be allowed there.
  5. Keep in mind when abandoning homes that you can only claim a total of 5 per 24 hour period.
  6. No - you cannot customize it in any way. It must be placed at 100m or lower, or at 2000m or higher -- will not work between 100m and 2000m. Secondly, if placed correctly, it will then scan and protect for 400 m above and below itself, but does cover the entire parcel XY coordinates.
  7. Pick Bellisseria from the drop down. Currently there are only Houseboats and Campers available, but the occasional Traditional or Victorian home pops up from people abandoning them. There will be more Traditionals released starting next week, but we don't know if any more Victorian regions will be created. Oh - and there will be at least 4 more themes coming, but will likely be at least a couple of months before the first of those is released.
  8. I'm blown away by the number of listings that are now including the phrase "Linden Home" in order to get search hits. A furniture creator and a garden/landscape creator have both added the phrase "Perfect for a Linden Home" to almost all of their listings. I simply see it as someone trying to game the system and I add them to my list of "Do not buy from". Depending on my mood when their stuff pops into my search results, I might spend 5 or 10 minutes reporting items.
  9. You should definitely fly up and AR both of those, since they are definitely below 2000m.
  10. Unless the orb settings can be modified, it cannot be used at a Linden Home. The covenant requires a minimum 15 second warning - this one says it gives 10 second warning. Also, orbs are not allowed to TP you home; they have to simply eject you from the parcel. This one says it "transfers home".
  11. He thinks it should be reported because it is named "Linden Security Orb" and says it is "Great for Renters Parcels, Linden Homes". However, it has a 10 second time wait and ejects the person to home -- both of those actions are disallowed by the covenant. I'm simply going to send the creator a message and if the listing doesn't change in a few days, I'll contact Support, as Patch suggested.
  12. The MP flagging of an item has no place for notes. ETA: And you noticed that on your own now. This is why I think the MP flagging system desperately needs a place to add some notes. I flagged it anyway - maybe whomever checks it will notice the "Linden House Security" and "Great for Renters Parcels, Linden Homes" phrases, combined with the "10 second counter" and "transfer home", which are both not allowed. I used Reason of "Spam or Disallowed Listing Practices" and then "Harmful or disruptive content" -- which, yeah, isn't really fitting. I did run into a 10-second orb yesterday and reported it. I'll have to check my chat history to see if it was this one. I think I'll also get brave and send the creator of this one a note about the rules for Security Orbs at Linden Homes.
  13. I like it. If you are trying to match your System look, then yeah, the eyes need to be a bit larger and "maybe" the nose a bit skinnier - not sure on the nose because the second picture is a slightly closer view than the first.
  14. You like em fake, huh? Or only the 20-something look? To each their own.
  15. I only had the "no rez" issue a few times yesterday, but switching to wirefame and back did fix it -- so at least I don't have to TP away and back anymore for that problem. Additionally, after reading lots and lots and lots of things when I searched the Forums and Google, using all sorts of different words, I went into the Developer / Rendering menu and turned off "Object-object occlusion". I'm not sure what negative impacts that might have, but I haven't really noticed any yet. However, I did have much, much fewer of the "no rez" occurrences yesterday. The viewer was logged in from roughly 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, though I was AFK off and on during that time. I mention the length of my login because it "seems" like the 'no rez' happens more frequently the longer that I am logged on.
  16. Before I reported some of the plots that were fully covered in snow, I did send a notecard to some owners letting them know that the covenant now covered seasonal decorating and what the snow policy was. IMO, the notecard was very politely worded. I got back a few "Thank you, taken care of" responses, but also had one guy ask if I was an LL mod - really?!?, with a name like LittleMe Jewell? Obviously he doesn't know much about Lindens or how SL is managed. When I told him that I wasn't, he asked if I lived on the "sim" - just had to use that term since he did. When I said that I lived in a different region, his response was "None of my neighbors have complained" and that he thought my approach and manner (simply dropping him a notecard) were "out-of-order and rude". He then went on about how would I like it if he came to my house and started nit-picking about tiny things being out of covenant. Well covering the entire plot with snow was not really a "tiny thing out of covenant. Then I blocked him.
  17. This for sure. I was flying pretty low yesterday and ran into the spinny triangle I posted above and a couple of platforms, all below 100-125m. I later flew right through a skybox sitting around 300m -- they did at least set the walls to phantom so that I didn't bounce off, but I reported it anyway due to the height it was at.
  18. So, I went and visited that region tonight and the one next to it. I would absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE any of the plots that I circled in RED -- those would truly be the best of any plot I have yet had. The one with the X - the map needs to update, but they turned that one into a small park with a lake in it - so no house there.
  19. ARing obvious offenders is sometimes very soothing to the soul - at least when I'm in a pissy mood anyway.
  20. I actually don't think that they could announce those events here in the forums, other than someone casually mentioning it. Even if it is Bellisseria, the events are not LL sponsored and so probably have to abide by the normal forum rules for events.
  21. Yeah, I saw a few pop up while my alt was trying for the camper.
  22. Yeah, so people have no concept of climate or theme. I was actually in a mood tonight, even more so after those two items above, so I pulled up the map and went to a few plots that were obviously parcels totally covered in snow and did some reporting.
  23. I finally decided that I wasn't super duper in love with my current camper location, so I abandoned it and went through my 5 tries to see if I could land one of those in Hooten Hollar. Instead, I got spots in Toad Hollow, Tawakoni (which is overall a nice region, but I didn't like this particular plot), Dahm Strait (love that name, but hated that location), Red Bluff, and finally Rayburn. So she's done until tomorrow. The one with the X is claimed, but the other 2 are still available.
