try buying a translator....or doesnt those work either? as i am not sure if they use Google or their own algorithm . I kow one langauage, and when i meet other with a different language, I struggle through, and then doent talk to them again. When I first came to sl I was a knight in the kings royal guard ( got there with fighting skills in dcs) and it was an Italian sim, my translator worked ok, but they are still a little confusing because a lot of languages dont use words that English made up for itself. English isn't a real language anyway, its a mongrel made up from so many other languages.And i have NO intention of learning 4 - 200 languages just to be in SL. I will learn one.

ahhhh, so its a permissions problem, as i thought they stopped working for you too. are you sim permissions set up right?

did you try unlinking a wall panel so it isnt linked to the door, and adding it to the wll panel. or the floor.and they would have been able to check the boxes as they will have admin control of them. i hope you get this solved soon........regards

as is said already, your only option is to start a new group, then send a notecard to all OTHER members saying you will be deleting the old group and please join the new group, you dont have to tell them the problems. once you have started the new group, NEVER EVER add someone as an owner. give them officer roles which you can control how much admin they have then. I used to own a live venue, am a muso in RL and know the type of things that can happen, especially after a dissolved partnership. Keep this in your mind as a learning experience. good luck, hope all goes well fom here on........

unfortunately my dreams are few and far between now. I have managed to live my fantasies and most of my dreams so my subconscious is afraid to show me anymore

the main reason i believe ( from my experience) is that people often have familys and while those families dont take much notice of mum typing on the computer, they're ears would **bleep** up if suddenly they heard her talking into a headset, and would become alarmed if the headset were speakers and they heard the opposite sex speaking back. many people in Sl that are married in RL have second reltionships in SL, they believe that this isnt cheating because they are only pixels. I believe it IS cheating as they are investing emotional and sometimes physical hours with this sl person. It is when using voice that this will conflict their RL and SL that people get defensive and sometimes arguementative about using mics. I personally dont have a problem with it because i am single and free to do as i wish, and that the relationships formed in SL are as real as those in RL. I have even some friends that are on yahoo and skype from sl, and seen by the icon that they have a mic and say lets use voice, and when they tell me they dont have a mic, i suddenly know that they lie to me and perhaps not the person they claim to be. That is when i get sad after all their " i never will lie to you" bull**bleep**. summary....there are a lot of liers in SL, so best to keep everyone at a distance and treat them as a game until you meet some real people.

it certainly appears genuine, and the fact that the lindens provided an avatar name is worrying, but just goes to show they doen seem too worried about users information being collected. the fact that they mention someone AND ther alt and gave a few IP addresses makes it too easy for someone to connect the dots there......most wrrying indeed is the fact the LL doesnt consider IP collecting as an actionable exploit.......................................OMG

welcome margieg, While i appreciate the others concerns that you might offend someone who is actually dying, i also realize that the dying are the one's that come to terms with it more so than the ones they will leave behind. And though you may offend those that will live on, i am sure that those who are to leave this world will not be so offended, i have learned this from many of my friends who have died in the last few years from various reasons. I will not need a funeral for myself. although, i have my own graveyard and have erected some graves for RL freinds who have passed as a memorial to them. I think it would be nice if i had a friend that did the same for me, though i doubt that will happen. Good luck in you studies in what seems to be a touchy subject.

i dont really know, but i am assuming most are above 40. unless they are bed ridden or sick in some way. In fact, nearly all that i have gotten to know are at least 40, some late thirties.

i totally agree with you. One suggestion is maybe you breasts are too small in sl, As i have noticed most of the women in sl give themselves large c cup to d cup breasts ( its like a and b cups are outlawed) women come in all shape and sizes in RL, and a healthy reflection of that would mean the same in sl. as to people thinking about child abuse all the time, an old saying pops into my mine..." me thinkest thou doth protest too much..." the meaning being if someone is overly protesting about something, then perhaps the actual deed is on their mind (fanasizing about doing it?) Anyway, i hope you can find a better club to dance at where you wont be annoyed, people that behaved like this used to get kicked out very quickly in my club, unfortunately i had to close it. keep looking and good luck, if they ask you to leave, walk way and never look back.........

i eject people for the same after a requst to seek from the creator, items with less scripts.( the new one), after that i eject them. Women are the biggest users, jewlery, prim skirts, the hair, boots ( they are up there with hair)....................but i dont think LL would agree. However, what you do with you own land is up to you....*wink*

as was mentioned in the bible, "there is nothing new under the sun"......today, there isnt much that we can imagine that hasnt been imagined even 2000 years ago ( as far as thoughts not includiung tech stuff ) many daily thoughts such as " i wish i was rich" i hate my brother" why dont my parents understand me" why dont my children do as i ask: there is nothing new under the sun.

that would be your dress not rezzing properly, maybe you need to clear you viewer and browser cache. if that doesnt work, upgrade you graphics card

i have an even older card than that. Ge force 9800GT. This is a dual core card with ! GB of memory DDR3. if you have that (Yes, you do) then you will have no problems with graphics. Everything else just means you computer will be up to date, hold as much info and programmes as anything else around and should be fairly quick. NO, you DO NOT have to change the graphics card. ( unless you want to swap it with mine ))

I am afraid LL doesnt need to ask either, they already know everything, and they already spent the money you gave them this month.......

my phoenix stopped working for me completely, during log in it would freeze (ie not responding) so i have not been able to use it and therefore FORCED to use firestorm instead. I hate firestorm, its as useless as v3. I uninstalled it, re installed it and still the same thing. I think perhaps my welcome in SL has been worn out. because these beta and vs type veiwers are hopeless for the street user. I think if you are clever with computers, maybe they are ok.....except for search, that is still useless

@ margo, i know exactly what you mean. i had a club that was live music. i made it like a festival stage, as clost to RL as possible. however, live music is expensive, and i didnt charge admission cause i wanted everyone to enjoy the great live music. The musician loves playing there, coz before they arrived i dj'd then while they were playing, i did an honest to goodness light show for their performance. However, relying solely on donations made it very expoensive to run. after the financial crisi, i ran for a few more month, but my RL work was running out so i had to close..............................................so much for hard work..............

its not JUST about the money, it is also the fast decling support from LL, the increasing "watch this or that" in the forums, the griefers and spammers seem to have free reign (instead of banning avatars or email addresses, ban the IP address) here while people that have put many thousands of dollars into SL (including me) get nothing for their investment except ignored. anywonder why LL is doing recruitment drives, if they looked after the people they had, the numbers would steadily grow by word of mouth. Now those that were loyal slowly leave for a better place. LL should have learned this lesson after it has been posted here on numerous occassions. But the "GOD" syndrome of "I know everything" has blinded them to the truth and they continue to stumble and fall, making more silly mistakes after another. ...this post will likely disappear...................................................................................................................
