my phoenix has already become unusable. so now i am forced to use firestorm. bring back emerald...lol...anyway, thats ho things go, they call it progress. add more amd more bells and whistles so there is more things to go wrong.... anyway, i think people are getting used to forced changes and will just deal with it with a minimum of fuss. Phoenix's eventual demise ( because they stopped maintaining it) has been known for quite a while now, and though phoenic could still work, LL's Sl changes just means it wont work in SL anymore....maybe it will work in utherverse or ozworld.....i am not sure.

This is why I buy only tried and tested hardware. I dont see the point in running out and buying every NEW thing on the market just to have it. not only is it a waste of money, but it is also a waste of materials and is killing the planet. Windows 7 works perfectly on my 2009 i5. I have already heard plenty of complaints about windows 8 ( as it always takes time to iron out the bugs and they always release them anyway) I tend NOT to replace equipment unless it is broken and non repairable, not just for the sake of having the lastest, and especially not replace it with something just on the market.

i have heard that on third party sights that you ip address is up for grabs, and if so, her former friend only has to match the IP and presto chango, tracked her down.

they would deactivate you account if they notice suspicious behaviour on you account to stop any further problems. To stop this kind of hacking, (yes i know its a pain) all you need do is change you password regualarly. I am pretty sure that yahoo even recommends this. So anyone that leaves the same password for months and gets hacked......self inflicted. because ultimately, your security is your responsibility.

ooops. would hae been better off taking individual items. I had a shop once and did it individually and never had a prob....hope you get sorted soon. have you found where the items went? or are you trying to rez a file with nothing in it. they all may have gone into you objects file, so when you try to rez from original folder, there is nothing there. look around your inventory

when i first joined, i made up my first and last name, but i think the ol memory banks were getting full as SL filled up with creative people, so they made you choose from the list of already existing last names, which to me was ok because i started running into people with my last name and thought, are we related? i would like to see that at lease brought back, being able to choose from the already existing last names, resident just seems so " we just made this up yesterday and we are calling it secondlife"

used to be able to go back as far as i wanted once, but just when i need it, i find i can only search transaction records up to one month old.....:/ how rediculous is that, and a little annoying. so what is my next move? i appreciate any contributions (especially if they aren't repeating what a previous person has said) thank you in advance

its strange, when i was in emerald and pheonix, i widened my bandwidth in preferrances and never had any more rezzing problems, when my live music venue was going and had 30 people on the sim, i didnt even get lag problems. although my internet speed was and is pretty good. i upgraded to an i5 with 6 gyg of memory and a 1 gyg video card. if your using a laptop, i find that is where most of the problems ly, i use a desk top. but to your point, no, there is nothing new in SL, and it seems everytime LL adds some new gizmo, the quality of the experience deteriorates. i have been logging on just to see my girl, with whom i am having difficulty connecting with lately. so perhaps SL has run its course. remember all those companies that do amazingly for years, then they just die out as the next newest and biggest thing come along. besides, i too am getting bored with the same ole same ole................when something works so well, why do people then ruin it by trying to make it better, adding new things? i maintain that a car that has too many gadgets, just has more things that will break down.This i also believe with SL, and cutting staff didnt help at all coz then no one got service..

where i come from, children arent allowd to earn an income until they are 15...........so there you go, make an adult avi if you want to get money.

the HONOURED RESIDENT is wrong .Actually, you CAN track a person in SL and you dont need them to wear anything, you only need a ui number and that you can get with a programm called avatar tracker. I use it to track slave movements, but some might use it for unscrupulous reasons.

what usually happens when somebody stops renting (or gets kicked out ) is the owner/leaser will return all items owned by the previous to the library via "object return" and so this would be difficult. Depending on where you saw the rent box, it may have been on a boarder to another property and therefore not belonged to that property at all. skyboxes can somtimes hang over the fence into someone else property as well. Also, returning to a different place may just mean that the owner has changed the TP area so that you are redirected to there prefered TP in. I hope this is clear enough, but i am sure there will also be a million others to repeat what i have said, and/or add to. good luck and i hope you enjoy your experience

sounds like the top is an object rather than a layer. perhaps you shouldnt buy from this designer and look for quality disgner wear? it is difficult to know without seeing whats happening, but i can imagine. just sayin. did you use wear, or attach? try some differant options when you right click.

are you attaching it to your screen?.....go to your inventory, select your hug by opening the folder, right click on the hud and selecet from the drop down box "attach to hud" ..once it appears on your screen, you can right click it and move it around....

if they are invisible prims, control T will show them up and then you just right click on them and send them back to the owner. control T will also show up all prims. or click on your land at top of screen, click "objects" tab it will show you all object on the parcel...click "show" owned by others....then refresh list..........you can select which ever you want then click "return objects"

why is it i very rarely appear as a ball of smoke then?

i think tracking IP address is a violation of a persons privacy, no matter good intentions. IP tracking should be considered a virus in SL. IP addresses cna change everytime you turn on your computer anyway....but still i dont think it should be allowed or legal. Australia has pretty strict laws on privacy and information gathering. for instance, you have to declare that you are collecting info, what the purpose is, and the a declaration that you will protect that information and that it will be used annonymously. this you have to declare to the person who's info you are collecting. Sl does this, but third party's have no such permission as far as i am concerned.

there is also another reason you cant rezz......part of your skybox overlaps over you neighbors land and your standing in the part. just move to a to one side. I know the boxes are supposed to rez only over your land (the auto sizing ones are) but they dont i have had problems with this several times. i always just move

try tp'ing to a diff sim, one with less traffic. is you graph card big enough for SL? i find laptops are crap for SL, expecially if your country has slow internet, like Australia where we are waiting for our fibre optics to be run out still...

go to your tools on your browser and disable any add ons and/or extensions you dont recognise.....it isnt SL, you picked up u trojan from a cookie.

If someone asks you to go in and check you details, then use you own bookmark...THIS IS COMMON SENSE AND ANYONE THAT IS STUPID ENOUGH TO CLICK ON A LINK IN THIS DAY AND AGE DESERVES TO LOOSE THEIR **bleep**. why bother. people in SL claim to be all sorts of things. would you bother to report someone for claiming to be a vampire ( coz you know they dont actually exist ..right?) no, then ignore them, its the best revenge.

If you want to visit THEIR land and they have a dress code, then you have to follow it but I really think it was your attitude ( and maybe you loose grasp on the English language). I work in RL in security at venues and if someone " tells me what they think" (we all know what that means) I kick them the **bleep** out too. Aggression and attitude wont be tolerated by many people, nor should it. When visiting someone's property, some respect goes a long way.

I am sorry to hear about your troubles. I think the email (you probably realixe this) you got from SL about the attempt to change your password was a phisching excercise and wondering if you used their link to log in to change your password, if you did you gave them everything they needed to clear you account. i have recieved many emails over the years, some from SL, trying to get me to log in and confirm my details. the SL one s that tell me my password was attempted to be changed, first thing i do is track where that email came from with email tracker software. if it looks genuine (it never has) than i will log in with my own link, not one supplied. but always if looks like it has come from west africa, or germany, the sender has tried to mask the place of origin so i delete it without even having to open it. (opening it only tells them that 1) your email address is genuine, 2) you have an SL account and they will keep trying at different times in the future. good luck and i hope you get you stuff back. probably wont though.

personally, i wouldnt accept anything from anybody i havent known or dealt with for some time. you never know when what the give you will or wont have a script in it to take all you inventory and lindens. I actuially think you got away pretty clean this time, next time you might lose everything. dont be a cheap skate, buy your **bleep** and dont ever accept anything from anyone (that you dont know)

what software are you using. i find BSR or NCH capture software are good, no controls on screen, and you can resize the screen to emit any other unwanted stuff. with NCH, you can then use NCH video editing software. experiment. there are other capture software, but they can be expensive.....good luck
