  1. To paraphrase Inigo Montoya, "You keep seeing that tier. I do not think it means what you think it means." What you think is happening is not what is actually happening. Go to Buy Land on your Dashboard page. Choose My Mainland from the drop down. You will see your Linden Home parcel and any other Mainland parcels you own. These are the Mainland parcels you are paying tier on (although your Premium tier bonus may mean you are not actually getting charged for some of it, 1024 for Premium or 2048 for Premium+.) Now go to the Group Land option in the drop down. You will see a list of all your groups, and how much tier, if any, you are donating to each of them. This donated tier, plus the Mainland you hold directly (the above paragraph) is the total square meters you're being charged tier for. As a check on the above, look at the Land Use Fees drop down option. You should see here "square meters owned", the Mainland parcels you hold under your own name, and "square meters donated", the tier you have donated to support group-owned Mainland, as well as your "Premium bonus in square meters", the discount you get for your Premium membership. You'll also see "available square meters". This is simply the tier level you have authorized, i.e. the maximum amount of Mainland you can hold without jumping up to the next tier. Any private estate parcels won't be shown. Having a private estate parcel, whether you call it "buying", "renting", or "leasing", is a person to person transaction outside of LL's tier system. You pay the estate owner a weekly or monthly fee in $L. EDIT: On re-reading the above it sounds sort of snotty and superior and all-knowing in tone. I don't mean it that way. If you're seeing something other than what I described, get in touch with me privately.
  2. To add to Qie's helpful reply... To change the group your parcel is set to: Wear the tag of the group you want the parcel to be set to. Open the About Land window (right click the ground and choose About Land, or go to World\About Land or Parcel Details). Basically, you want the window Qie posted above). Click the Set button, then confirm the change.
  3. Maybe she's giving you a subtle hint...
  4. I think I've found your problem. I have a question though. Is this YOUR club? Or is this a club owned by someone else that just happens to be in the same region as you? If the former, then shame on you. I mean, why on earth would you kick out real people wanting to attend your event in favor of a bunch of illegal trafficbots? If the latter, then you can: Talk to the club owner and explain he's unfairly using region resources Abuse Report them for 1) unfair use of region resources and 2) violation of the scripted agent policy Relocate your venue. The suggestion of using a Homestead region is a good one, as maximum avatar capacity (25) is close to the number you say you'd like to limit attendance to.
  5. Your name changes, but your UUID doesn't.
  6. I should clarify my earlier post. I get the Destination Guide "ribbon" by using World\Destinations. I didn't think of trying Rowan's suggestion of getting there via Search.
  7. Call LL Billing tomorrow and bring this to their attention. 800-294-1067 or 703-286-6277
  8. Firestorm's UI ancestry dates back to LL's Viewer 1.0. LL completely changed the UI when they introduced Viewer 2.0. So a lot of us feel it's more the other way 'round...the LL viewer puts everything somewhere else! The other thing that FS does is to "bring forward" a lot of things that are present in the LL viewer, but buried (for example, in the Debug Settings).
  9. I see you're still here, @Quistess Alpha's thread. Either Your request to delete was ignored, You changed your mind, or You're lazy Inquiring minds want to know!
  10. Received Items is where stuff you buy on the Marketplace is delivered. It's a system level folder, and you should not be able to make it a sub-folder within something else. If you managed to do it anyway, you should probably do a clean re-install of your viewer to make sure you won't get inventory corruption issues. I cannot conceive of any reason to want to put anything BACK into this folder. Good inventory management practices would suggest you remove items from here as soon as possible and put them into another inventory location for permanent storage. No matter what you do with your Received Items, your Marketplace history is unaffected. That information is contained here on the website, in your "My Marketplace" Order History.
  11. Check in Firestorm's Preferences, Firestorm tab, Protection sub-tab. See if you have anything other than the "Never" option checked in the Revoke Permissions section. The various Revoke choices provide additional protection against a type of griefing attack, but can make scripted furniture misbehave.
  12. A bit off topic, but the title of this thread suddenly gave me an Idea! LL should add "Prim" to the last name list. Just imagine the possibilities, starting with "Privacy Prim"...there's also Tortured Prim, Mega Prim, Invisi Prim, Sculpted Prim, Rez A. Prim, Proper Prim, and many more!
  13. That's all very odd. I can get the page that LittleMe and Rufferta get, but ONLY when I access Destinations from here on the web site. It shows me as logged in, and I can see the top Destination on the Map and teleport/log in there. I can put other Destinations in the top position by clicking on their tile. When in world, using Firestorm, I see this: I can click on a Category to see the Destinations in it, and click on any Destination to teleport there.
  14. It's the 50+ people requirement that's the killer. Most places, even ones that are "busy" by the standards of SL, have far fewer than that in attendance.
  15. You will have to contact Linden Lab about re-listing a product that they have blocked. Do this via a Support Case. I also note that two of your listings were removed for "Inflated listing price". According to LL's listing guidelines, this means "inflating prices on the SL Marketplace, in comparison to other e-commerce sites". In other words, you're charging a higher price here than you are in world, or on your own web page. I suggest that you list your parcels as FREEBIES, charging $L0 for them on the Marketplace. What you provide to the customer is the landmark to the property. They can then go there and rent it from you using whatever rental system you use in world. If you adopt this system, be sure to be VERY CLEAR in your listing that what the customer is "buying" is the location of the property and instructions for how to go there and rent it, at a rental price of $L XXX per week.
  16. You trying to put me out of a job, Bree? It's bad enough that about 2/3 of the newbies I encounter already think I'm a bot, now you want the actual bots to take over? But that last part, about "It absolutely will not stop" gives me some darkly funny mental images of robot helpers that relentlessly follow newcomers, continuing to offer helpful suggestions no matter what.
  17. It may be that you didn't put it in the right category. Did you list it in Real Estate\Private Islands\Parcel Sales\(either Full Regions or Homestead Regions)\Developed Land? It may also be that it was deleted because the region has an Adult maturity rating. Adult parcels can be advertised, but maybe they want you to say so in the ad. Besides the Marketplace, you can also make a post advertising your property in the Land Forums here: https://community.secondlife.com/forums/forum/293-private-island/
  18. When using the Return function, all objects are returned as a single "coalesced object". This will have the inventory symbol of a stack of little cubes and may have the name of any of the objects it contains, often just "object". Look for it in your Lost and Found folder. If not there, check your Objects folder. When you go to rez the coalesced object, do so in an area large enough to contain it. The objects will appear in the same relative positions they were in when you Returned them. Also, have your object Edit window open so that all the pieces will be selected when you rez it. If the coalesced object contains Linden plants (the ugly plants you can make with the Build menu), many locations will not allow you to rez it. File a support ticket and request access to the Unpackistan region.
  19. This doesn't address the "blocks my sunlight" issue the OP has. Even if you derender something, it still casts shadows. However, I have some Solutions! Use the Environment Editor to swing the sun position around in the sky. Use artificial lights instead of relying on the SL sun. Put your platform as close to the upper build limit of 4096 as the system will let you. Your nemesis won't be able to put their stuff above you. (This may introduce other drawbacks, though). Move Do your photography elsewhere. (Personally, this is what I'd do. A flat sky platform with a white wall around it is a terribly uninteresting place to take pictures, when there are so many beautiful places out there.)
  20. @Theresa Tennyson has a very good point. I have a bit different take on it. I like SL, and I like YouTube. Sometimes I even use YouTube to find out things about Second Life, like checking out a product review, or a tutorial. But I would never think about using YouTube to search for people I ought to avoid, or even go there to see if someone that's been rude to me has had a video made about them. Whyever would I?? So I don't think taking the time to make a video about this person is worth it.
