  1. Any purchase amount will start the clock.
  2. ...gives you a suspicious glare. Why do you wanna know? Dont'cha know everyone does everything on line these days?
  3. There is one, maybe two people who can help: the creator of the item, and the seller (very often, they are the same person). But you don't usually need them to respond in person. Instead, you can do a little detective work. Get the creator's name by right clicking your tail and choosing Edit. From your post, you already know who you bought it from. Bring up the Profile of this person, or these people. Most likely, they will contain a Pick to an in world store, or a link to their Marketplace store. If that doesn't bring success, go to the Marketplace and click the Merchants/Stores tab, then enter their name in Search there. They may sell them on the Marketplace.
  4. Stop wishing for so much stuff!
  5. I'm shocked...shocked! to find that gambling is going on in Helios Casino!
  6. I find that scrolling through those clickbaity lists of things like "The Most Entitled Person You Ever Met", "Biggest Bridezilla", "I Got Even At Work" is addictive. I'm paying hours of my life and getting NOTHING in return, but I keep scrolling.
  7. Philip Rosedale said much the same thing, @Coffee Pancake, but you say it in a much nicer way.
  8. Down! Down, dog! Down, I say! Ewww, muddy pawprints all over my nice dress again. Bad doggie!
  9. This is very interesting, and I find that I feel the same way. Which raises the question, WHY do (most of us) feel that it's OK if Residents do these things, but not if LL does them? I need @Scylla Rhiadra to jump in here and (once again!) explain my feelings to me.
  10. Can't hug 'em if you can't catch 'em. Ditto kissing n' dunking.
  11. @Chic Aeon, I disagree with @Pekuru too. It's true that "cleanup" utilities can sometimes actually cause a problem, but in my experience they are far more likely to find and fix problems.
  12. That is HOW. WHY is a very valid question, and I would like to see the Lab answer it. Or better yet, keep the in-world transaction history as long as they keep that on the MP.
  13. They can, yes, although I don't know if they routinely look at that. But even though they can see that Account X and Account Y are run on the same computer, they still treat them as separate accounts, which was my point.
  14. Interesting, since I'm told Proton Mail is one of the most secure email services out there. In response to the OP's question: LL considers each account a separate entity. It doesn't matter if you used the same email address on them or not, none of your accounts are "associated" or "linked" to your main account or any other. The only "link" they have is that you yourself made them. However, as others have said, LL may be able to provide help in tracking down an old account whose password and even email you can't recall. You'll have to jump through some hoops to prove that you are you and that you are actually the rightful owner of said account.
  15. Any "gaming" PC sold in the last six years or so should run SL. If you have extra budget, put it toward a better graphics card, but don't spend a lot extra for an RTX (ray tracing) card, since SL doesn't support it.
  16. That's alpha conflict, and it's normal behavior. Two things have transparency, and the viewer doesn't know which one is in front of which.
  17. It most certainly is possible to use particle emitters to bring snow or rain to an entire region. It'll cause some lag, but not too much for most people. And if anyone doesn't care for it, they can simply choose not to render the particles. As far as I know, there is no way to make objects "actually" appear and disappear other than temp rezz...and I do not think that will meet your needs. But it's quite easy to make a script to turn particles on or off, either on command or by a timer. The drawback of particles, of course, is that a roof won't keep out the rain. You have to carefully position your particle emitters so as not to rain inside buildings.
  18. I'm angry on your behalf for your situation. It's always frustrating when two companies start pointing fingers at each other. But I want to caution you that you will NOT get a refund by doing this. LL does not give refunds on unused portions of a Premium account. I would think your best bet is to take pictures or scan the receipts from your bank and attach them to your complaint to LL Billing or Premium Support. Send copies of any and all correspondence with LL to your bank and CRA, and conversely copy LL on things you send to your bank.
  19. You have lots of options. You can get a free Linden Home, either on a 512 or 1024 square meter parcel. Doing this will leave you 1024 to 1,536 square meters of your Premium allowance, so you can buy a second parcel of Mainland as well. That's what I did; I have a 1024 Linden Home and a second home on another 1024 parcel. Or you can simply buy a larger parcel. If you create a group and then buy the land for the group, you can have about 10% more land due to a group bonus. So your 2048 allowance would allow you to own as much as 2,240 square meters if you hold the land through your group. Buying a Mainland parcel does mean that you have to pay a one-time up front purchase price, but as long as you own less than 2048 square meters total*, you won't owe any monthly tier fees. You can buy land from another resident. Find parcels for sale in the Land section of the forums here, on the Marketplace under "Real Estate", or by using Search and the World Map in world. The seller will set the price; just as in Real Life, desirable parcels like waterfront will have higher asking prices. Besides buying from a resident, Linden Lab auctions off Mainland parcels. Check out the Auctions listings with the link under the Buy Land menu at the top of your Dashboard page. Plus, if you happen to find an Abandoned parcel that you like you can use LittleMe's suggestion and submit a ticket to LL asking them to sell it to you. *Donations of tier to a group count against your allowance too. This is how you get the group bonus I mentioned. Donating 2048 sq. m. to a group allows the group to hold up to 2,240 sq. m.
  20. Rowan and Coffee are both right, but there is another and very bitter pill to swallow. According to the Terms of Service we all agreed to, each person is responsible for their account. Linden Lab is often lenient when they see that something has happened that is not your fault, but they can also choose not to be lenient. If someone using your account committed ToS violations, YOU are the one responsible...and LL may decide it's easier to just ban you permanently rather than try to unravel the whole mess. So, submit your fraud report case, with as much detail as you can, and then cross your fingers and wait.
  21. Can you use Skype? Vivox is a very similar service.
  22. Is that right? I didn't know banlines altered how the Privacy button works!
  23. A technicality about ban lines... General banlines only extend 50m above the terrain, as Sid points out. However, if you ban a person by name, the banlines they encounter extend up to 5,000m, well above the maximum build height. People can still fly over your property in either case. You can disable visibility of avatars on your parcel by un-checking a box in About Land, Options tab. This means that while people outside your parcel can look in, they cannot see or hear chat from any avatars there. This works both ways, you cannot see avatars outside your parcel either. Once someone flies over your parcel and is inside the borders, though, they can still move their cameras to you and go all voyeuristic.
  24. WHICH firewall did you turn off? Most systems have two firewalls. There is the software firewall of your PC's antivirus protection, such as Windows Defender. Then there is the NAT firewall in your router or internet modem. You should enable the ports shown in the article below, in both firewalls, and also check your router's settings regarding the "SIP ALG" feature mentioned in the error message.
