  1. Sorry, Nerxual, but you are clearly a Drama Fur.
  2. LL has a bizarre definition of the term "photorealistic". As they use it, it means, "a photographic image of a real person". Avatars, at the current level of realism, are not "photorealistic" depictions of human beings, no matter what language the skin manufacturers put in their advertising. Even so, a full nudity strip club is pushing it. There are forum posts and office hour conversations with Lindens that indicate it would be OK...but there are also documented instances of Lindens taking a look at a strip club and telling the owners they needed to move to Adult land.
  3. Keeping your own chat and IM logs is good practice. However, that isn't sufficient for resolving disputes or investigating an AR, because it's so easy to edit/doctor/make up a chat or IM log and say "see? Here's what that so-and-so said!" LL uses their official logs. I don't know how long they keep them, though.
  4. Mercedes, This is not a problem with FRAPS or SL, but an inherent problem of the way most computer voice equipment works. A standard telephone is "full duplex". You can hear yourself in the earpiece as you speak, and you can hear other people speaking at the same time. Digital audio equipment doesn't do this. You'll notice that when you speak on voice, you don't hear your own voice in your headset or speakers, although others can hear you just fine. It works this way partly to avoid audio feedback in your system, and partly because the conversion from analog sound to digital takes a short time. Echoing your words back to you would not be instantaneous, but would lag a noticeable fraction of a second behind your actual speaking. I've experienced this, and it's very uncomfortable...there is an overpowering tendency to listen to yourself and slow down to let your words "catch up" with you. As a result, in a few seconds, you stop speaking entirely. My suggestion would be to either run two computers, or to bow out as an actor in your production and concentrate on being the filmmaker. As the camera person/director, you will hear all the actors' voices and can record them.
  5. It's a broken feature. Once upon a time, red LMs were supposed to represent places you hadn't visited yet, and blue landmarks places that you'd been to. But the colors no longer correspond to anything at all. I think there is a long-standing JIRA issue on this. It's been that way for more than two years now, though, so don't hold your breath.
  6. No matter how "silly" you think my topic was, or how stupid it was it happened to me, so respect what I say instead of judging me. Anyways. Thanks to all the supportive people. And to the morons go screw yourselfs. I'm sorry, I have to say it: SEXUAL HARRASSMENT! Seriously, though, even though your avatar is a cartoon, it DOES feel like rape, of a sort. I know, I've experienced it. It takes an effort of will to step away from your immersion and treat it as happening to pixels on the screen, instead of to you personally. As others mentioned, there are security features in Xcite equipment and other scripted body parts that can prevent this. I'll recommend one more: Don't wear your Xcite bits until you are ready to use them, in private, with your partner.
  7. Greenlife Emerald viewer. Get it at http://www.modularsystems.sl
  8. No, "Inspect" doesn't do that. With some viewers, the Inventory has a tab labeled "Worn", and you can see what you are wearing there. Otherwise, the Edit menu at the top of the screen has an option to Take Off and another to Detach, and those will show you the clothes and attachments you have on. Also, typing (worn*) in the inventory search box will filter your inventory to show you the items you have on. More/Inspect allows you to look more closely at an object, either one you have attached, or anything else. When clicked, you get a box listing all the prims in the object, and their creator and current owner.
  9. There are two problems. 1. The property owner has set his parcel to admit Age Verified avatars only. Some landowners are doing this under the mistaken idea that it is required in order to have Adult Content there. This is not true. In fact, "Age Verified Only" does NOT permit them to have Adult Content. ONLY having the parcel flagged with an Adult maturity rating will do this. You should IM the owner and discuss your problem with them. 2. If the owner had decided to Age restrict his parcel anyway, then the second problem is that the system is buggy. Sometimes it will exclude people it should admit, and sometimes it will admit people it should exclude. You should discuss this with the owner, too...and one or both of you should file a support ticket. PIOF: Payment Information On File. That means, you've given LL a credit card number or a PayPal account.
  10. Wow. The only thing I can think of is that it IS an active gesture. It might be named something completely misleading, though. Try going through all your active gestures and see if any of them have the appropriate chat trigger and phrase. Or just maybe something has managed to hack your viewer. If a careful search of your gestures doesn't turn anything up, try: 1. Clearing cache 2. A complete uninstall and reinstall of the viewer software. Good luck!
  11. Read before you post. Note who the OP of this thread is? I do believe that Lexie Linden knows all about the Lindens. This is one of those "placeholder" questions that were put by the Lindens and the Mentors into this forum back when it was in beta. Nevertheless, the first responder gave accurate information. You can indeed be punished for revealing RL information about another Resident. I've seen it happen.
  12. He may have deliberately turned off your ability to see whether he's on line or not. Or it could be an SL glitch. There have been any number of issues with the grid the last couple of weeks. Especially, the "Friends On Line" display on the SL webpage has long been known to have problems from time to time.
  13. You can immediately wear any of the default avatars. They are in your inventory, in the Library/Clothing folder. Simply drag one of the folders in there (such as "Girl Next Door") onto your avatar to change completely. Clothes and attachments are of two general types: Clothing "layers", such as your shirt, pants, jacket, socks, etc. And prim attachments. Prim attachments are most often shoes, hair, or skirts, but can also be other clothing parts. You can replace any part by simply wearing another item in that location, such as replacing one shirt with another. Prim attachments are located on one of the "attachment points" of your avatar, such as chin, chest, R. Upper Leg, and so on. Another attachment can be worn on that point, replacing the old one. To simply remove an article of clothing, right click your avatar and select Take Off/Clothing/(desired item) from the pie menu. To remove a prim attachment, right click it and select Detach. You can also do this from the Edit menu on the top menu bar, or from within your inventory by right clicking the worn or attached item in the inventory window. As others have said, some items can't be taken off directly, because they are needed to define your avatar's very existence...such as your skin or shape. Instead ot taking them off, replace them with another one as described above. Shoes that don't fit: Shoes have THREE parts in Second Life. A left shoe, a right shoe, and a "shoe base". The last item has an inventory symbol that looks like...a little shoe. It distorts your foot so that the foot fits the curve of the shoe sole (especially important for women wearing heels). Wear all three shoe items! Also, most women's shoes are made to fit size 0 feet, so set your feet to that size in the Appearance menu. (I don't recall the standard man's foot size...14?) Hair also generally has two parts: A hair object, and a "bald head" item. The last item hides your "system hair" so that it doesn't show through the prim hair "wig" object. One other tip: Some of the default avatar skins in your Library have the underwear painted on the skin. If you find that you can't Take Off your underwear, this may be the cause. Try wearing a different skin.
