  1. I see your arguments. I do think many people will leave the houses after a while, even if they are pretty. So many will feel the closeness is not for them, and also those who want a much larger house. I see threads all the time where people want total privacy, no others around. I am selfish - aren't we all? So if this is the best option for me, if I like the houses enough, I take one. I also want to change often. Maybe that will drive me away from a LL home. Don't you think there will be lots of cheap mainlands parcels now, so creativity will blossom? I for one, wonder if it's time to sell my mainland now, and don't wait. Landlords will have to work even harder on offering themed land, if that is what people want, give them it, just with more luxury, larger houses and larger parcels. Maybe the introduction of mesh allowed SL to copy RL, sometimes I don't know if I see a RL magazine or a SL magazine. Maybe most of us want a home that looks realistic, just without the constant need for cleaning and repair.
  2. Aaah. I never had one, I thought the 2010 houses was ugly. So I teleport in, don't like the placement, abandon the house and try again?
  3. Can someone clarify for me, English isn't my #1 Language and I am not feeling well, so I can't figure it out on my own: https://modemworld.me/2019/03/15/new-linden-homes-preview/ Does this mean that the walls/hedgerows and other landscaping decor as shown in the preview, does not count against the 351 LI? Or is the landscaping just there to pretty up the preview? I really adore the community style. It is the same as you must pay a lot for, renting from land barons. And it is first in, get to pick first, of course. So the homes close to water will be taken first. That is what I would choose for the view. Would it not be smarter to make more wide waterways, so the inland homes will be picked up too? I am not sure if I will take one of those, but wait until a house with a view is free.
  4. You can not remove skins from the body, you must replace it with another skin. Try to select one of the built in skin options in the Maitreya HUD. The other textures you bought, are they skin or tattoos? And if you will apply anything with an Omega applier, you must also wear the Omega relay for Maitreya the same time. If you take it off, it is not working anymore. Make sure you put it in the body folder so you can find it and wear it fast, every time you will try a new Omega applier.
  5. I thought this was only about wearable things. But ok, things to rez is very practical to have as mod. I can link things, can unlink parts I don't use to reduce land impact. I don't bother with no mod cheap items, like second hand gacha, that's sold for 20L. One thing I forgot that is for all things.... it must be possible to disable full bright!
  6. It is so many great things for sale, 1-2 teleports would be like throwing away one of the things I want to buy. So no payment for teleports. To have a number added would be annoying for sure. Not so annoying that I would pay for teleports instead. I would do as Matty suggested over here.
  7. The main reason is that it looks so good that I won't bother to edit it. I have found that extensive editing things does not give me the best result, and it is too time consuming that it is worth it. Edit: I don't use clothes for years. I have a few favorites that I use again and again, the others 1-3 times perhaps. Same as Blush, I do not buy no mod hair. Unless it is for a one-time use like Halloween hair. I need to tint the hair since I never find red shades that I like, I use a light brown and add some red. I would not buy white hair and tint it in all shades. It ruins the highlights. Same with all other things. I prefer mod since I can tweak the colors or textures with just a bit color. Textures are so shaded, it is almost pointless for me to switch textures. I want the built in folds, shadows and depth. In short: No mod hair is probably no buy, clothes and accessories is buy if I like them. Mod is always best.
  8. These hands are probably the least common hands. Slink hands and Vista hands have much more support. I use the default Maitreya hands and Slink hands. If no others can help you (the forums is not buzzing with people these days) try to search for a Tuty customer group, I am sure the store has a group joiner where you can ask for help? Did you try the demo? Just because the creator say they match, it appears that several customers are disappointed. The reviews on the Marketplace are more negative than you should expect. I would stay away from a product with so many negatives. I am surprised that so many reviews come from people who have mesh bodies that includes hands, like Belleza and Maitreya.
  9. If it is only the front, try to adjust the forehead.
  10. I would rate a pool as #1, your questionnaire did not allow me to rank options. Because it is social, you can have a pool like mine where you click on a button next to the stairs to get a swimming hud, so guests can click there, they don't have to be left out. A slide, a surf board, pillows or lounge chairs. Fun for the whole family.
  11. I am way past the standard sizes, since I only use a mesh body. My common issue was that I always had to change breast size to fit in to the fixed standard sizes. Plus that my clothes with only standard sizes came early, before mesh bodies, and they are IMO crude and not so well made as the last years creations. I would rather delete all standard sizes than the system layers. I still wait for BoM. I get a lot of stuff in "containers" like shopping bags, boxes and HUDs that attach to screen. As long as I keep them, I can unpack a new set and get the sizes from there. Of course I must find the containers, place them in folders and name them..... things I don't do. Packing things in boxes is dangerous. They get lost in my inventory. I really need a organizer service. Of course I can't hire someone, it's too risky and it is not allowed. I could loose my accounts and be banned. But still, I can dream of an Inventory Angel?
  12. I use only Maitreya body, so I could delete all the other sizes that I get. It is just so much work. I wish LL could offer a secretary service of trusted residents with RL info registered, that could come in and clean for me. Maybe a Premium perk, working as stylist with limited access granted by customers. Like, they can't access the §L or empty trash, just clean up my wardrobe in the inventory and make folders of what they suggested could be purged. One suggested delete folder with all the sizes I don't use, one with all the "thank you for buying my stuff" notecards and all the unpack scripts and hold bag animations, et cetera.
  13. It is not easy for me to tell if you wear a mesh head because your picture is so small. You can search the Marketplace for +Maitreya+(your head type) and sort in -> Avatar components -> Avatar shapes. Try some demos. You will see if they have shoulders that you like better. For me, I searched for +Maitreya+Simone
  14. Well, @Skell Daggeris the one I use to refer to. He most certainly is not the jeans and leather jacket type. Well, he is that too, but he spend a lot of time finding special clothes that may interest you. https://www.flickr.com/photos/skelldagger/with/31888448247/ He will come with a longer reply, I am sure. But he is using Slink male body, I think he also like the thinner version of Signature (Geralt). If you ask me, I think Belleza Jake look best. You should pick up a lot of demos. Both Geralt and Jake can be slimmed down, but they are still fit. You can't get rid of the arm muscles, even if you push the torso muscle slider towards zero. You can use Catwas pre-Bento heads. The benefit of that is that you can use all Catwa appliers, you have the same range of products, but not animations. I think Catwa skins, beards and such is made by the vast majority of designers. You can not adjust the sliders, so you must find a head you like. You will look for the "Basic" heads. There are animation add-ons if you decide the face is too static. A head + "blink" will be 1400 L or so. It is sort of greedy to not include even blinks, but hey, that's their price. Skins have a lot to say of course, but if the head has the "wrong" eye size for you, you can not change the eyes wider or more narrow. While a mouth depend a lot on what kind of lips the skin maker painted. Demo, demo. The Adam Bento mesh head is so cheap. And here you can change the face with the head sliders and have animations, all for 850 L. You don't get so much support as with Catwa, sure you can use Omega skins, but they might not fit so well. So the elephant in the room. TMP. This business makes me so irked. I can not deny that the body looks fantastic. The heads too. And I really liked the Classic head. It is still 500L just for the heads. But the support has fallen like a rock because TMP sucks majorly in development and refused to "play ball" with other designers. No Omega support. So search for TMP threads in this forum and in blogposts outside the forum, and read all the arguments against it. Billy Beaverhausen has blogged some about them.https://billybeaverhausen.com/2019/03/04/whats-eating-tmp-12/ I think it is worth reading more posts from him, I think he has every body and head. Well, not all but a lot. He is more muscular than what I associate with thin and fit, but the body demos will show how much you can take down the muscles. Akeruka has nice heads, and for 1250 L, that's cheaper than a static Catwa blus blinking animation. And I think they have some support, more than Adam? They are also Bento.
  15. I try to keep my inventory under 35000, so when it starts to creep up I start the purging. Done this many times. One time I was over 50000 and had to work it down over several days, it is so time-consuming. I ended up just closing my eyes and empty the trash, hoping I had not deleted too much. I think only my alts have 25 k or lower.
  16. Ooh, I remember when I found the really well built places. The garden I found, and now I can't remember its name. The dancing place where it was round dance floors with bridges that built then together. The free red gown one of the dance places had. Could it be a place that is still around? And Thassa, the gorean-but-not-roleplay island. How amazing it was to get there, first on a ship, then a canoe that you had to paddle in. How people could make all that. Edit: I found a video of Thassa. Amazed by scripters and what they made. Still is. And how intimidated I was with roleplay. Still is. Finding the blog FabFree and getting lots of stuff. Not so much now... Going to Caledon and be complimented on my gown "lots of prims" and I didn't know what a prim was. 😄 And the Wastelands. How amazing is that place. I had found the minimap so I could teleport out if someone moved towards me. Scared what would happen if someone came close. They were so amazing, I felt like they were smaller gods. They knew everything. The careful research I did in weeks to find the skin I was sure to use the rest of my SL. And shoes without bling. I bought 2000 L and that was the start to my shopping obsession. The first goodlooking male I saw. I had no idea avatars, male avatars in particular, could look so good. Shopping at Bare Rose. I got lost again and again.
  17. I am thinking that the hairbase is a very solid one, a hairbase that is shaven or that tones out down to the whiskers may be better. Modulus sell hairbases for their hairs. Are you using it, or the default Catwa hairbase? All Modulus hairbases has demos, so you can check if they look good before you buy. It can be that the beard (or the hairbase) need to use more than the one slot.Try to turn the blush on and off, and make sure you try both upper and lower layer. The slots does not overlap, it is like you draw lines across the head, and any thing that applies to the face and is painted so it crosses over a line, need to use another slot. The blush part cover the whole face like a mask, and is often used to bridge gaps. https://gyazo.com/ba7192c34af479fa59d7cbe3922ca9a4 Maybe I explain too bad. I need coffee in my end of the world. All who have a Catwa head, girls and guys, can get help from Skell Daggers tutorial. http://www.virtualbloke.com/archives/2830 And it is an inworld group called Catwa Head Friends you can ask for help in.
  18. For 30 year old, Izzie's has some face appliers with lines and other appliers for aging. She has demos too. You may think this is for old hags, but there are subtler versions included. I don't know LAQ, but Catwa has sliders for the different makeup slots, so you can adjust the visibility. Myself, I started getting small lines when I tipped 30 in RL.
  19. So if I am fishing for suggestions for new red hair, I can write something like: "Muted red hair! Is it the best selling in SL, or is it Intense red that is most popular? Which female mesh red hair creator do you prefer and why?" (Pictures is welcomed)
  20. I saw when you posted, and now I must go to "Wanted" and see what suggestions you got. I wouldn't have seen it unless it was here in Your Avatar first. ☺️
  21. Personal images, no problem with them. I have seen some I like, many I think look bad, but no need to be rude, yes? Vendors is really not good. I remember a skin ad, the first I saw an ad morphed with a SL skin and Renderosity hair. The Flickr and skin group light up with questions where to buy that hair. It looked so much better than SL hair. Remember this was some years ago. I think the skin seller redid the vendor image to escape from all the questions. I understand you mean RL images and not Renderosity, and there I feel it is laziness from the seller. If you choose a pretty RL image and use some blending around the face instead of bothering to make a nice avatar and pose him/her in SL, then I wonder what other shortcuts you take. I choose to buy or not buy, I might take a demo. I am not impressed by morphs in ads, they make me skeptical.
  22. I believe the best way would be to link groups of no-animated items. Let us say a carpet, a table, a stack of books, a tea cup, a bowl of fruits and a lamp. When the lamp is the last added to the linkset, it still works on/off, right? I don't have that much experience with linking. I always changed interiors so often, there was no need. You mention pictures, they are ideal to link. Animated objects should always be selected so it appears as a coalesced item in your inventory. Coalesced items is harder to place, as already mentioned. I think I would work in smaller areas like rooms, not try a whole house with all furniture in one go. It is also very helpful to place the house exactly in the 90, 180, 270, 360 angle. Really helpful for me at least. Take your house first, if you have edited it as you want. If you have not edited it, I would just delete it and rez a new one on the new spot. Then you have the furniture left, and it is easier to drag select room by room. Rez the old house or the new house, and place back the furniture room by room.
  23. I think it is a bit silly, but so it is.
