    It is @Skell Daggerthat is CSR for Catwa, so I bet he is coming here now when he has time to see he is mentioned. That alpha issue there, can it be solved if you add the L'etre hairbase to the lower layer of hairbases? Then another hairbase on upper layer. Now you have double hairbases. Select the top hairbase, set it to "mask" and then do not clear it, just turn it 100% invisible. (Pull the slider) I have an idea in my head, that separating 2 alphas (Alpha hair and alpha hairbase) with a masked layer can help. It can be worth trying until the Master himself comes with help.

    Caledon Oxbridge started something in 2014, but I have not seen them release anything new: http://www.caledonoxbridge.org/guardian/2014/08/02/avatars-reload/ It helps newbies get rid of a mesh starter avatar. Today, I think LL gives us the avatar with a tablet and big hat (females) by default.

    I was so simple that I was feeling stupid. But really. I hope the hair creators don't get any angry complaints about "bad hair". The skin creator's Flickr started in 2018 so not a week, no. I hope it was just one unfortunate skin.

    I am using Firestorm, so I maybe you won't find things the same if you use the official SL viewer. I clicked myself and "edit outfit". Then I selected "bodyparts" and the symbol that looks like a brown swim cap. I click the wrench symbol behind it. If it is no wrench symbol, it is no modify. If you can edit it, no problem. Find "Hair style" and set volume, length and others sliders to 0. If the eyebrow shaper is no modify, you must find another one (Brown swim cap) in your inventory and start to edit it. You do the same, set "style" all to zero, then select "eyebrows" and the last three ones, height, arc and point, control them. Hopefully you should be able to copy the eyebrow shaper you had. Since it is no modify, you can not even see the numbers. You can make a new eyebrow shaper, but I have many that are modify, so I don't care.

    Okay, sorted out with group help. It is the eyebrow shaper that is the issue. I am so used to an eyebrow shaper set to 0 on all sliders. But the skin maker took another way, set the hair texture to transparent and left hair length, hair volume, all sliders is on 50 or 30 or some other number. I assume alpha sorting issues is not visible unless advanced light is turned on. I am glad I got this corrected, so I don't walk around looking like the right image to all with advanced lightning on! 😄 I do not use advanced light when I need better FPS. I sent the skin CSR a notecard about it, so they can change their eyebrow shapers.

    So, I think I know why this happens. It is that blasted Alpha sorting issue. But why is it visible only in advanced lightning? Will all who has on advanced lightning see this? I tried to find an alpha masking button on the Genus head, I could not find it. I tried BOM hairbase. And that looks sort of all right, but the whole decorative twisted hair is still missing. The hairbase only cover the skin, it does not fix the alpha issue. And I bought the hair because of this pretty front. I am trying to ask in group too.

    Cropped and resized, then it goes in Fotor and I put on some effects. This is mostly what I do,, too lazy to do more anyway. I took it on a poseball, so I have not rotated the image. Not advanced lightning, just the usual "out and about" preferences I use.

    I like to see all the different rooms, so I like that. It would be different if you posted almost identical pictures, but you don't.

    What would be popular, beach huts! After the fight to get a log house next to water, it is clear that water is one of the most desirable landscaping. Even I, loving my 351 prims with a passion, might be tempted to try one 512 m with a "your own beach guarantee". Small islands shaped like amoebas, or a doughnut with uneven coast, and beach huts in a circle with palms and rocks between. Each island, their own volcano in the middle, lol? Or a small lake. LL already mass produced regions in Log Land, imagine having several types premade different mini islands patched together in an "Island continent"?

    To get maximum use of land, one buys more land, divides off the part they need to fill the group bonus, and tries to sell the rest. When that does not work, it is abandoned. I hate those small, weirdly shaped land patches with a passion. ☹️ To do this, you have to pay tier for the first month, even if you sell or abandon the rest immediately. I hate big, weirdly shaped land too, so I do not discriminate. Land shaped like a L or an U or a Z, is so difficult to use.

    The "Beautiful Abandons" thread shows that abandoned homes pop up all the time. You can also claim a house from the mobile. I know somebody clicked on her mobile just before she got to bed, and got one of the best places I have seen. And I have been in Bellisseria since April last year, but abandoned homes still makes my jaw drop.

    Or unpack a new head, detach all of the old HUDs, teeth, eyes, head itself, and start again with the fresh new one.

    I wonder if the Lindens have any data! They can not have a survey among people who have no interest in what's going on. An eventual survey will only be seen by us who keep an eye on what's happening in SL.

    What I meant was, are the old Linden homes populated by choice, or because the residents there does not know it is an alternative to them? You mean the green dots are there because people does not want new1024's? I disagree. I admit some want a mainland parcel too, because Linden homes are not commercials, and can not use a new 1024 without paying additional tier for a 1024 plus a mainland parcel for a business. Or they must donate land to a group too. In that case, they are informed that they can have a 1024 m home, but choose to say no to them. Are those informed residents really many enough for a new style, as big in numbers as the Cabins? Maybe. I do not know if it has been some kind of survey. People will jump on new cute dollhouses, cottages or what ever is new. But is it previous old style home owners, or residents that already own a new Linden Home, and adds an alt to Premium? My impression is that the cabins are mainly populated with the latter.

    I do not like or dislike it. I think the blue color is better, more visible. The old font is better, because it is quirky and fun, not formal and rigid. So... one change to the better and one to the worse. But nothing to care much about. In my opinion, most logo changes is designer(s) arguing for a new logo because the company "need" to change it, while the users or customers is split in 2 large camps: The camp that prefer the old logo, the camp that does not care, and a smaller one that loves the new logo. So a change of logo is good for the designers that get the money, that's all. They can also add to their portfolio: I made a new logo for (insert name here). A waste of time and money for all others, the company included, unless the old logo is really old fashioned and not readable.

    Adding to the post over: I hear that often. New homes? What's that? So, I am believing people stay in the old homes, because they do not know about new ones. It can not be true that it is many people who need 512's with that low prim limit.

    The colored: How do we know there are so many residents or alts that are using mainland? I know some are posting here that they have a 512 mainland for their store. And a few ones say they donate. But the forum here are just a minority of SL users. In my eyes, as I see the land page, the campers are not popular. When there were releases of mixed regions, the campers stayed on for hours. I do not have an option on a new theme for 512's. They are not useful for me, but I am not to decide how others use their land. I am worried that LL makes a lot of new 512's that are unpopular. When LL could spend the time and land on styles that are in demand instead. On the other side, maybe LL want this. Then they can argue: "Bellisseria, the new homes, is not sold out. It is cottages up for grabs all the time". To sum it up: I do not think there is a big demand for 512's, but I may be wrong.

    One more thing: Animations. Turn on facial expressions for the heads when you demo them. You pay a lot for the head with the expressions, so you should like them too. I am biased, I prefer LeLutkas animations, even if I have more Catwa heads. It is expensive to buy heads often, so I am not changing them... not yet. Especially the male animations look best on LeLutka, I think. But DEMO and see what you like.

    HD stand for High Definition and if you are using Advanced Lightning, you will see materials effects. If you turn on "wet"under the skin tab, you see water drops on your skin. You can also choose youthful or mature, and various shine. For male heads, HD beard layer will make the beard look more real. And females, lips and eyeshadow. I think HD is more for pictures and blogging, I do not use Advanced Lightning with shadows when I am out and around in SL. So how much do you care about a glossy/shine/wet effect, and do you use Advanced Graphics in SL so you can see the effects? That is the questions. The heads look great without Advanced Lightning turned on too. So if you like the look of a HD head, go ahead and buy it.

    And the new homes is sold out. It still comes up a few abandoned ones, so it is not totally dry. I do not know if it is an official statement some place, how many they have made. I think it is 20 000 now?     Or buy gacha clothes and hair that you can pass between your accounts. I do that when I want to make a "themed" picture. Like Halloween. I get 1-2 year old Gacha parts very cheap when I buy second hand. You can even buy a Gacha skin applier, take a copy of your head and apply the skin, then pass your alt the same applier. The alt does the same. You will look like twins.

    Yes, I second what @Maitimosays. I have tried layer/BOM skins on other heads than the ones they were made for, and the skins may look really strange. Eye-corners, nostrils, mouths... sometimes you can try to correct it with "fixers", but it is not as good as a skin made for that head. When you have bought your head, you buy skins made for that head. You can be lucky and use other skins, but that is just that... luck. It is no fast way to do it than looking around, get the demos of heads and skins and try them on. Especially when you are on a budget. You do not have enough money to buy a Bento head first, then another one. Not on a 7000 L budget.

    LeLutka is very "in" now. Skyler or is it Skylar? Is the most popular LeLutka head now.The latest events has skins for this head. Mancave, Access, The Mens Department, Anthem, Men and Women Jail.... You get the Slurls at www/seraphimsl.com It would be best for you to go at the events, look at the skins and see what you really like. If you see a skin that looks well made, but it is not just what you had in mind, take a landmark to the mainstore and go there. Buy a head if you can get your perfect skin for it. The events can have skins priced down a bit. Also consider that you may need a body skin, to get the best possible match. How much that is included in body skins can vary. Freckles, hairy, no hair, happy trail, light hair... plus some even have a "tan mark", lighter skin where a pair of swimming trunks would be. LeLutka may still have a "Stay at Home" sale. I have not seen them announce that it has ended. They reduced the price to 3990 until further notice. If this sale is still on, you have more money for a skin.

    Yes. But I seem to remember the Freya Catwa head has a bad slider response to other parts too, like the outer eye corner. Like the rigging was hasted to finish it. It might be worth trying a few more demos from Catwa. Her production is huge, after all.
