You can also turn on beacons, highlighting sound emitters. It's possible you'll see quite a few of them when you turn it on. But maybe it can help you zero in on the emitter in question. You know you are dealing with a serious introvert when they ask for companionship contacts, you send them a friend request, and they can't accept it. In all seriousness, I used to be like that. I'm still a bit shy. And I still need time to myself after a good bit of socializing. But I used to be much worse, scampering off at the first sign of another avatar. I like that SL has had the same effect on me both in SL and in real space. I've found it much easier to talk to people, out of the blue, at the market, or in a cafe, or bookstore. I hope that doesn't mean I'm growing up.

At the same time I am becoming more active here in the forums, I am becoming more socially active in-world, meeting "new" people I've only heard about before. And it's funny that I have to stop for a moment every now and then to ask myself "Now wait... has so-and-so been in the forums?.." Sometimes there is, but often there is no such connection.

I understand why creators make their items no-mod. They're here to make money. I'm not in love with having to buy each color of a dress, or buying a fatpack to get that exclusive color or pattern. It wouldn't be my personal or professional policy, but I understand it. I also understand that, with more complicated products of different kinds, it's possible to create undesirable and unrecoverable changes. Creators of these kinds of things want to make them bulletproof. They want to sell and forget. There are many good reasons for vendors to make products of many different kinds no-mod. I don't support the elimination of that ability. These new avatars from LL are of high quality and look very nice. They are also freely available to everyone. You can log in, grab a copy from the library, put it on and run around thus costumed to your heart's content. As far as I know, no one is making money from them. If something were to break through modification, you can just grab a new copy from the library and start over. There would be no need to pester any vendor to get a new one. Making every aspect of all these new, starter avatars mod would, I believe, greatly increase their value and utility to both new and seasoned residents.

With this function, llGetAgentList(), you can get a list of the avatars on a parcel. If you don't care who is there, or how many are there, just have it alert you, or whatever, when the list is not empty. Oh, Mikka wins.

Today I was surprised and happy to find that I can wear a pair of shoes by Lelutka, Fame Pumps, with my Maitreya body, and they work. I purchased these shoes back before there were any third party mesh bodies. I am always very pleased when I can pick something from my inventory that, either through happenstance or the ability to modify it in some way, can be made a part of a new outfit using newer elements from disparate creators. I am impressed by seeing the foresight of creators' making items modifiable in this way, thereby ensuring their creations can maintain some kind of relevancy over time and through innovations.

Today I am donning and happily wearing a new anonymous gift I found at my door this morning. This wonderful shirt from Addams. I didn't already have it and I like it a lot. The color is very nice. If you're reading this, thank you very much. It's probably a good idea to add that the shirt is called Natalia Boyfriend.

I've been reading a book about brains. It's an engaging read on how they develop, change over time, and recover from injury, rewiring themselves to overcome emergent deficits, or simply shifting their mapping around subtly during one's lifetime. We all came here for our own reasons. We all stayed here for our own reasons. I would be fascinated to see how the brain of someone might have changed over time as they created their first main avatar, the one that, to whatever degree, became the biggest part of themselves. I'd love to see how, when they took this avatar out onto the grid, connecting with it, exploring the world, meeting other people, conversing, playing, and doing all the things we do here, regions of their brain changed and created new connections to other regions. I'd love to see how, when they are driving their avatar through all these activities, their brain lights up differently than when they're interacting in real space, with people and situations both familiar and unfamiliar. I'm curious how their communication skills might have changed, improved and expanded as a result of possibly new methods and routes and combinations thereof of sending and receiving information. My sister had a benign brain tumor (benign... pfft) removed some years ago, in two separate surgeries, the second more successful than the first. It affected a small section of her visual cortex, as well as causing changes to how she reads, how she handles numbers, and how she remembers things. She can't work now. I'd like to see stories about how the use of virtual worlds might have helped people with brain injuries of differing origins.

Wishes. I'll just reiterate this. I wish all of them were fully mod. I wish the whole lot could be used as a grab bag, recolored, retextured, unlinked, relinked with some other thing... the list... list My_wishes; .... goes on and on and would have to be compiled with Mono.
