  3. So the Main Channel rolling restarts are under way today and again there is no information in this (or any other) thread available. It might have been logical to assume the software version rolled to the RC channels last Wednesday would come to Main Server. It would have been logical but it would also have been wrong! My region was rolled earlier and it is now on version 571557! Is there any release note information...no. I won't waste my time repeating what I said last week before Maestro's ninja pre-dated post. ETA: Just FWIW I navigated to the release notes url and it gives me "Access denied", so I am still none the wiser. FETA: It is now under two hours to the start of the RC channel roll and it would appear that we are getting the full "mushroom" treatment this week. YFETA: The RC channel restarts began 2 hours ago and still there is nothing on this thread to tell us what is being rolled. This is bad, even by your own woeful standards LL.
  4. Then your only course of action must be to either do a live chat with LL support or, if your account is not premium, raise a ticket about it. Since you say it is also not working on the default Linden viewer, that is your only recourse.
  5. You need to check the character set selected in your Operating System. That issue is external to SL. It may be an issue with the keyboard settings.
  6. @LoganPryor: from the link on Mazidox's magic post, it looks like 571411 is a bit light on the fixes but it "may" have 166 fixes.

  8. Heh. We come back to that eternal conundrum "When is a client not a customer". LL really do not think of us "users" as paying customers and as such we have very little, if any, call on their attention. 'twas ever thus. The United States' definition of customer rights is significantly at variance with the British (or European, I have to add that since Britain ahem, "took back control"[feel free to laugh insanely at this point]) concept. We can rail, but ultimately they do a fine impersonation of someone with their fingers in their ears singing "La la la I can't hear you". There will be reasons for this silence but in the end they are just excuses and they signify nothing. PS: I must point out that LL's policy, if it can be called such, does not encompass several Linden staff, who clearly DO give a damn about us and communicate freely and regularly in these fora. In circumstances such as those currently extant, I suspect they have no more information than us, the great unwashed clients(speaking of which I am off for a shower).
  9. So the Main Server Roll is under way and my region has been rolled. But until I go inworld I have no idea to WHAT. I can assume it will be 570936, which was on the RC channel last week but really, this should not be a matter of guesswork. C'mon LL communicate! ETA after logging on we are on 571166 ....so obvious...NOT.

  11. @JuicyCortureYou really need to raise a support ticket (or do a Live Chat if you're Premium) to get LL's attention for this issue.
  12. This problems are likely all being caused by incomplete uninstallations of the previous Firestorm, it is a well-known issue. The fact that they were both sorted by doing a complete uninstal/reinstal suggests that the issue was as suggested. It is vital that the uninstal utility within the FS folder, an .exe file, is used since that scrapes out old bits that in this case had been upgraded (by LL not just FS).
  13. Trust doesn't come into this. We would all be a great deal more unhappy if they'd NOT taken greater care over this deploy. What's needed from LL is competence. That engenders trust, needed or not. These slow deploys are irritating, but botched deploys are a lot worse! Remember, Mazidox announced in advance that both deploys were going to be slow as a result of an "abundance of caution". For once, give them a break!
  14. @Sandra8675 What sorts of "issues"? I am not having any and am using 6.5.3 on Windows 10. Try contacting the inworld support group Firestorm Support English, or there are several others for different languages if English is not your first language.
  15. So it would appear that using the Uninstal utility with the Firestorm application is the advised procedure...just as well that I used it then! 🙂

I am sure that this post will get an authoritative answer from one of the FS devs once they see it, but for now I can (I think) tell you that as far as I can remember this issue is caused by a corrupt file within the version of FMOD used by the most recent version of the llplugin. I assume this means the version of the "official" viewer is similarly affected on Windows 11 machines. I do not see this issue on Windows 10 21H2, so whatever the issue, I guess it's related to Win 11's rather more demanding security. As to a solution, wiser counsel than I must prevail. I'd advise you to ask inworld of the Firestorm Support Group.
  17. @Monty Linden so perhaps now that the RC channel rolls are being completed (I assume the "left-overs" from last week) we could have reachable release notes?
  18. @Jaide BeckPlease do not hit your PC with your shoe! I know SL can be frustrating but....😁 That said, the long wait for FS 6.5.3 puzzled me as well, especially since it did not seem THAT radical a step forward. Blame it on resource scarcity and COVID, I do!
  19. Speaking entirely for myself I am SICK AND TIRED of this cross-platform spite. Perhaps the best solution would be for the chief proponents here to get their collective arses into gear and work TOGETHER instead of hurling insults and heavily biassed factoids at each other. People who like Apple, like Apple and their reasons are what they are. People (and this includes me for really no good reason) who dislike Apple and their operating systems and expensive (in the EU and the UK) equipment, dislike Apple. End of.
  20. Because LL's automated thingies are utterly reliable...aren't they? BTW those RC channel release notes are still not available (and yes, Solar, I did refresh my browser page!)
