  1. It's good practice to keep that info private. Some exceptions might be for some performers who might play both in world and at a RL club. I know some might use a middle name for the avi name or a name of a relative.
  2. We will need for Nvidia to come up with a GeForce 9090TI Special Gold Edition to handle up to 16 regions! 🤣
  3. Sometimes those phishing links get posted in group chat. Most time the members will say don't click and hit the AR button on the avi posting the link. Many don't realise that links regarding accounts, etc, are only posted on the official SL website.
  4. On a mboard I'm a Mod on we have a similar thread. It has over 100 posts already and the we're trying to keep the train on the track. It is a touchy subject and the board's admin said to think their comment over before slapping the Submit button.
  5. My cell is in the glove box of my pick-up. It's an old school flip phone and can hold it's battery for a bit. Only take it in the house to charge it.
  6. I remember seeing the BSOD on some soda machines and ticket dispensers at the train station.
  7. Maybe have some Moles help out --- The Mole Patrol! Or make a new class of staff or volunteer toons that can keep watch on things when they can. Maybe a special surname like "Welcome" so like for example you would have Governor Welcome.
  8. I miss that one too. This machine I'm on does multi-boot, Win8, 10 and Hackintosh!
  9. One of my machines still has 8.1 on it! We tested W11 on a cheap laptop we got for the bar which had the TPM chip and it reminded me of the operation system on a Apple computer.
  10. Except for the 36 of us on the planet who don't have smart phones --- or flip phones we only leave in the glove box for emergencies.
  11. I used to own a club --- but it was a live music one. Due to RL and too much drama I bailed out and sold the place to someone else. I do remember there used to be like 4 dancers that came and also dressed alike and had a special group. They were lots of fun and tipped good. I rarely went to DJ type clubs due to many were set up having too many management types and not enough patrons, over use of gestures from hosts, DJ talking over music, etc. My man used to DJ in one club, but it was an old club with mainly the owner there. Due to racism there we got canned from there.
  12. I remember recently in world in a group a shop owner saying since the gachas were going away --- she was closing her store and returning her island/region back to the Lindens. Meanwhile another peeve, sites relying totally on the smart phone to do something. There are 21 of us that don't have them. The vendor used to have a system where I could push a button on our inventory system and it would automatically order what we needed. Now they want you to input the order on a tiny screen line by line.
  13. I remember when I drove a city bus --- the coaches with cigarette advertising signs on the side would be assigned on routes passing many schools. I remember grabbing a coach for my shift and the garage manager said in the Gilly room one day "Take coach 1069 instead of 1044, that one we use on routes by schools. 1044 had cig ads while the coach I was grabbing had none. The practiced ended when the municipality but a ban on smoking ads on the busses.
  14. Hopefully Freakbook will fall flat on their metaverse.
  15. When my man DJed --- he simply used the club's Intan dance ball.
  16. I remember long ago the Linden person who told me about SL went to a MickyDs not far from the Lab's office and came back to work on some technical stuff and got the flying dirties. More time in the washroom then dealing with a server. I remember him telling me that when he used to come to our old night club in South San Francisco before we closed it and retired to Canada. After that he never went back to MickyD.
  17. Ok, is Linden Lab secretly working on a project to add smells to SL? Like the smellitizers Disney use at their parks? 🤣
  18. Good article. At least Linden Lab gives you the full avatar. Freakbook only gives half of one! Where Zuck will monetize the heck out of Horizons, the Lab been getting revenue the old school way by memberships and land purchases.
  19. On an MMO my man plays --- you have to lodge a ticket at their help desk to change email. This was done when there was a hacking spree that lasted for a bit. Found it was a former GM who was fired and got revenge.
  20. Maybe to get input on bugs and stuff. As some activate it and run into issues --- they could report those bugs and gradually start on other stuff like the client.
  21. The client could pop-up a window when trying to top-up your Lindens. Some MMOs do that. I could see this in the official viewer and FS. Not sure in Singularity since that one hasn't had an update for some time.
  22. The cashier ran out of change. They sent one of the staff persons to a local bank to get more!
