Is there a way to reduce Slink Hourglass's butt size?
Janet Voxel replied to elixdude's topic in Your Avatar
It’s designed to be that way. Personally, I think it is more curvy than a Freya. The good news is you might be able to find a deformer on MP, that makes you less curvy. The potential problem I see is that when you wear jeans or pants, they might give you the booty back. Just live with the extra junk in your trunk, I say. You look great! -

Animation HUD and head should be divided. Overpriced bento.
Janet Voxel replied to eretyd's topic in Your Avatar
I think the OP has a pretty good idea, although it'll never happen. I think what she's saying is: You buy Brand X head A for 5000. Then Brand X comes out with head B and C and D. You like Head C, but don't want to pay 5000 for the whole thing again when you know the animations from Head A will work with B,C, and D. Why not sell the basic head for 2500 (it could be any discounted price, I just threw that number out there)? You're still going to buy the head and use the hud. Later, when Brand X comes out with head J,K and L you can get that one of those too. It makes sense in the idea that you've gotten someone to pay 5000 again, where they normally wouldn't have or just spent the 5000 elsewhere to get a different head. I think its a great idea, actually. Never gonna happen, but it's a good thought. -

There were some good people over there. Most of their forums were dead for a long time though. I did like reading it though, it tended to be more on the straight up side. If someone was bs’ing they’d tend to get called out. Message boards in general have been dying out in favor of social media sites and *shudder* reddit. So can’t say it’s surprising.

You know... for all this talk of “SL is a place where you’re freeeeeee to beeeee what you want to beeeee!” This topic or similar ideal avi topics sure come up a lot. Just sayin.....

Well that ad is a render from a 3d modeling program. So you’re never going to look exactly like that in-world. That’s because it’s taken from a different program. A lot of creators are using 3d renders for their ads these days. General rule of thumb: If it looks like something you’ve never seen in SL, it’s not from SL.

I think it’s not so much the body you want, but a skin. I really don’t know too much about male skins to help or give suggestions but I do think the skin is what’s going to make the difference.

What if SL existed for another 100 years
Janet Voxel replied to Bree Giffen's topic in General Discussion Forum
There was a really good episode of Black Mirror “San Junipero” that dealt with people uploading themselves into a virtual world. There’s supposed to be a sequel episode this coming season. Black Mirror is a Dark sci-fi show about near future technology, that is theoretically possible now. It also has an episode that was eerily similar to the 2016 US presidential election. -
Would anyone mind explaining to me how all this mesh stuff works?
Janet Voxel replied to Alexis Kiyori's topic in Your Avatar
I’ve never seen someone with a classic avi discriminated against Inworld. Nobody really cares. I have seen people with classic Avis harp on the fact that they have a classic avi to the point where people do respond to them being annoying though. -
I use Belleza Freya, if I feel like it I’ll wear Isis or Maitreya. I also have an Hourglass, but I’m over manually switching feet, so I haven’t worn it in a while. I think most creators stick to one or two bodies because rigging for different bodies is a lot of work. The demand for clothes is so high that there is a lot of pressure to constantly put out stuff to stay relevant. So they just put out what is most popular.

VR and AR Haptic bodysuits with sexual attachments (the latter is optional) Alpha glitching is finally sorted out. -

Noir de monde means crowded.

They’re starting to make mesh clothing for sking bodies too. BoM might breathe some more life into system clothes and it’ll definitely make creating more accessible. At the end of the day though....it’s still kind of limited. Great for makeup, skins, tattoos, etc.

Do you have advanced lighting enabled?
Janet Voxel replied to Rya Nitely's topic in General Discussion Forum
Always on. I can see bump and textures just fine. I think the problem is alot of people choose bad wind lights where you can’t see the effects though and just stick with them. Thats another topic though. -

There are some people on SL with mental health issues. It might even be a way for them to work through some things, so I don’t judge. I don’t have many recent stories, as I’ve gotten older (I started on SL when I was 20), I’ve found I don’t have as much tolerance for strange encounters like I used to. The last one though, I met a creator at her store and we started talking. Nice normal conversation in local. A guy shows up, not unusual right? Well, he was jumping around. I don’t even remember what he said, but it was weird....still jumping around. He said some other weird stuff, but I remember thinking “This is making me uncomfortable.” Creator im’s me “He shows up at random times. Just being weird.” I go “So let’s leave.” We left, continued our conversation she gave me some good tips about creating and we friended each other.

Put “rockabilly” in search on MP and a lot of 50’s styled stuff comes up. Emotions has some 50’s styled hair. There’s lots of stores that do it for themed fairs.
