Also on marketplace, there’s a store called ROC where there are a pair of Doc Marten like boots and only 99L! I probably own all of them, they’re good quality too. The trick with layering mesh is a lot of experimentation. You can wear the boots with say a pair of skinny jeans or leggings no problem. A store like Blueberry has jeans that have been specifically modeled for boots, which is handy.

Addams and blueberry just did a great collaboration with jeans boots and a top. I’m usually anti fat packs, particularly when they hide the best colors and patterns in them, but this one was actually worth it for the jeans and boots alone. Good, you found it! I would’ve had a hard time explaining it while not logged on! I’m one of those people that can drive somewhere no problem, but give directions? Can’t do it!

It sounds like something is borked. There is a wear default female avatar button. Use that, then take everything off and add all of your stuff one piece at a time. Shape, body, head, clothes and shoes. That should work.

I know this person that spent $530 in imvu isn’t here most likely. But that would last me about a year on SL. $530 in 28 days? My god....

I had to log in to my original account to find this. I think I paid a ridiculous amount for this skin and it was a rip-off even back then in 2010. I was such a noob, but I thought I looked great!

You have one for clothing? That’s usually the big offender people talk about.

I think ChinRey hit the nail on the head. A lot of people get pointed to tutorials on YouTube when they ask about creating. There’s a lot of pipelines for creating and a lot of them are more on the high poly side. To my knowledge there aren’t many low poly tutorials geared toward SL.

I think it would be better to have a sticky thread here for common noob questions. Particularly for head and body questions, since those come up the most.

It’s changed over the years. I started 10 years ago, while I was in college. So I basically had a lot of time on my hands. It was a good time waster. Then I graduated and was underemployed, so I still had a lot of time on my hands. A little less, but I started learning about creating. Started a little business, sold my appliers and started learning about mesh. Then I got a little better employed and had less time for SL. Stopped creating and gave up the store. Now, I have a pretty decent job and pop on SL a couple times a week to hang out, maybe take a few pictures, maybe mess around with some mesh, but mostly it’s to shop. That’s pretty much it.

I started an organization project back in the summer. So far I’ve: Put all of my applier clothing in one big folder. Organized my footwear into categories: shoes, boots, sandals, sneakers, misc (for ribbons and jewelry), etc. Organized my hair into categories: So far I’ve done colors. Blonde, Brunette, Red, colorful. Organized my skins. Organized my shapes. Brought all the stuff out of that other folder for stuff you buy from MP. Accessories: broken down into sunglasses, purses and bags. Jewelry is further broken down into earrings, necklaces, bangles, tiaras and headpieces. I have my bodies, heads and body parts Organized. Dances and AOs organized. Just by doing that I found 76 boxes I’ve never opened. On my “to do” and ongoing list: Poses need work. I have them in a folder, but I’m going to throw them in an anypose stand at some point. I’m working on junking all my boxes, that I’ve unpacked Ive started clothing. I’m doing the “only” clothing now. You know the stuff you get from gatchas that are only for one body. Once I do that. Then I’ll work on outfits, and pieces. Vehicles Houses/skyboxes Furniture I figure I’ll have my inventory like I want it by the spring.
