It beats waving a magic wand and make all people no longer push you away while afk. Unless you have an even more brilliant solution. [Update] I did the test. And I must admit, I almost peed my pants, having to perform the laborious task of sitting my avatar down first. https://i.gyazo.com/4497ea7f02d3fefdf89113ada592c03c.mp4

How can I make money with programming in SL?
Arduenn Schwartzman replied to Mehran30's topic in General Discussion Forum
By finding someone who wants to pay you for in-game programming. The demand in SL is really high, so if you learn LSL, you'll make quite a lot really quickly. Live long and prosperous! ️ ✌️ Nanu nanu [Update] You know what? I'm in a generous mood and had this really crazy idea: I looked up a link for you, a road of riches and fame, as it were. https://community.secondlife.com/search/?q=scripter&type=forums_topic -
Please explain? There's not really much more than a few seconds, or none at all, when you have to afk suddenly. I see you're not really interested in a solution to your 'problem'. Have fun discussing.

1. Sit on something while afk. 2. Mute and derender offensive elements. Problem solved. You're welcome.

Are you serious? With that budget, try playing Minecraft on low graphics instead of SL. Or buy a Huawei phone and install a Second Life viewer on that. I don't think you are serious.

Multi-sitter sit systems which work with 1 prim?
Arduenn Schwartzman replied to Bitsy Buccaneer's topic in LSL Scripting
This is not a general characteristic of scripts. Scripts only reset on rez when you tell them to. I don't really want to promote my own products, but Posy does not reset when taken into inventory and rezzed back out. Maybe you'd want to have a look and give it a try. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IACb--nkgc -
Multi-sitter sit systems which work with 1 prim?
Arduenn Schwartzman replied to Bitsy Buccaneer's topic in LSL Scripting
Here's the thing about multiple persons sitting on a single prim: In principle it's totally doable. You can make dozens of avatars sit on the same single prim object, as long as that prim is not inside another. Unfortunately, this is very often the case, especially when the sim is surrounded by a landscaping megaprim structure, or inside a house that has house-wide scupltie structures. The Posy pack does come with a version that will cater multiple sitters on a single prim. They will just not work in many instances, because people use these big landscaping and sky dome objects. -
I mean Titanic Z, in which Zombie Jack has to carry the enormous weight of the Heart of the Ocean around his neck at the bottom of the ocean, until Rose lifts his curse by generating 1.21 Jigowatts and travelling back in time and putting the ship's band back together to guide him to the Altlantic Rift, in the midst of which rises the Black Smoker of Doom, to drop it in it's superheated chasm from whence it came.

It's the Next Thing after 3D and turning Disney cartoons into live action movies: Digging Up Old Corpses and Put them Back on front of the Camera. Next year brings us Top Gun 2, Rambo 4. The Shining 2 and many many others. I kid you not. Why? Because, $$$. Let's lure in those Gen X-ers and relive the 80s. Because people don't like new things. But mostly $$$. It's only a matter of time until Titanic 2.

SL performance on MacBook pro
Arduenn Schwartzman replied to BartPitcher's topic in Second Life Viewer
The BSD Unix-based Mac OS is still pretty awesome. I miss the Exposé-likes feature and the speed of searching things (Spotlight) and speedy backup (Time Machine) the most after my switch to PC/Windows 10. And I miss the Unix/Linux-like toys and pre-installed programming languages on the Bash shell. But I switched and I don't want to go back because SL runs so much faster for me now.- 53 replies

LOD Setting in SL Viewer.
Arduenn Schwartzman replied to smirkingdevil's topic in Second Life Viewer
That's newspeak for 'I could not be bothered to spend some extra time making a decent lower LoD version of my chair'. He wants you to basically crank up your LoD settings instead, so you can enjoy a dramatic decrease in frame rate (or decrease your draw distance). If I had purchased such a product on MP and had gotten such a response, I'd have written a stiff review. The solution is not to turn up your LoD, unless you want to sacrifice draw distance or framerate. The solution is to convince the creator to update the chair or to buy one somewhere else.- 47 replies

How many novels have you written?
Arduenn Schwartzman replied to Clara Hollyberry's topic in General Discussion Forum
I wrote a novel once. ISBN 90-901XXXX-Y. It has lots of nice pictures in it. That's what counts most. -
Where's my free Bakes-on-Mesh avatar update?
Arduenn Schwartzman replied to Qie Niangao's topic in Bakes on Mesh
Let me reiterate the advantages again: faster loading times, highter FPS, less lag, ease of use in dressing up (e.g. by eliminating these overly-complicated alpha layer HUDs). "Your inventory" - Only part of my inventory, like when mesh was introduced, or sculpties, or flexi prim. You did not completely replace your inventory then either. "reduce functionality" - Like what? mixing material layers? I'll choose BOM for above reasons over the vaguely-defined benefits of having two or more mesh layers any time. "on a whim" - Carefully considered, paid for and implemented by LL (and anticipated by yours truly for, again, above reasons). That's a rather disrespectful claim toward the people who made this possible. "terrible approach/not something praiseworthy at all" - That's a rather dramatic response to something that only requires the use of an updated viewer, and as if above benefits don't count at all. -
Where's my free Bakes-on-Mesh avatar update?
Arduenn Schwartzman replied to Qie Niangao's topic in Bakes on Mesh
Everyone's basically wearing 3 mesh bodies (not counting the legacy body). With BOM, you only need one. I'm pretty sure, that's going to have a significant impact on the sim's streaming load, especially with high visitor flux. -

Some people in SL manage to even type in upspeak. "Like, just look it up on Google?" -
Where's my free Bakes-on-Mesh avatar update?
Arduenn Schwartzman replied to Qie Niangao's topic in Bakes on Mesh
As soon as the first BOM-enabled mesh body comes out, I'll be the first to ditch those multi-mesh layered, multi-face segmented monstrosities. -
8k Gaming Computers
Arduenn Schwartzman replied to Rob Huntsman's topic in General Second Life Tech Discussion
I never got that impression. Maybe it's a strategy not to over-geek in his videos, for the sake of views. Also, knowing a lot about tech may correlate inversely with presentation skills. It doesn't matter if he's not as tech savvy as you'd hope. He's got an impressive staff, each member of which has their own expertise. To me, as a former Mac user/PC harware noob, his channel has been instumental in making my hardware choices. And you know things go hardcore geek when he invites the big guy to his show: -
I saw people para-roleplay once. It took then 3000 words and 5 minutes to say something that could basically be boiled down to "Hello" and "How about a nice cup of tea?"
-
Come on, y'all roleplay during the sexy time.

I choose not to elaborate the claim. I can only attest that it is the absolute truth.
