  1. The next theme is..... *OUCH* I just got my 2nd covid shot. What were we talking about? I feel tingly, and now I hear radio transmissions in my head in ultra 5G clarity now.
  2. Thank you all so much for the heartfelt sentiments, well wishes and love. ❤️ The team is working on a permanent memorial location, as well as a temporary one within the SL18B regions. We will hold a memorial service soon once we can project completion of the spaces a bit better coming through this weekend.
  3. Hello, Community of Second Life Second Life found new highs in 2020 between a worldwide pandemic taking grip, through the times of a tumultuous leadership change in the United States, and during movements of civil changes that will forever live in history books. Second Life provides many with the comfort of a normal that continues to exist for all of us, where many use it to escape real life pressures, stressors and day to day challenges. In Second Life we can be our ideal, our best, celebrate all that is good across the world together. Sadly we have also seen some people go, and they will never be forgotten as they touched us, gave us their best from their hearts, minds and souls - this thing called real life sometimes knocks on our door and makes a call. This is one of those calls. Ebbe Altberg started with Linden Lab as our CEO on February 5th, 2014. He took the helm of the company and immediately went to work on reinvigorating our spirit and culture. Ebbe brought a profound openness, and transparency in his operation which was key and that had many effects on all of us internally, and externally. Lindens were encouraged to be part of the vibrant community in Second Life, to participate in and to cherish it as part of our daily duties. Ebbe also worked internally on embracing all aspects of Second Life, learning about its many nuances to understand impacts of decisions we make; while being sensitive to those and utilizing all of our resources, which firstly included you, the community, and many of us who are deeply embedded in Second Life. Ebbe’s goals for Second Life included promoting Second Life as the world’s best virtual world, community and platform. He also sought new adventures in building next generation products. As I am here before you today, it is with profound sadness that I share with you Ebbe passed away yesterday evening restfully and surrounded by the love of his family. I commit to all of you to carry forward with our mission of making Second Life the biggest, best, most vibrant virtual world that there ever can be. Together, myself, Grumpity, and Brett, along with Oberwolf at the helm and the entire team, our mission is clear. To grow Second Life and to ensure the Residents in Second Life continue to be respected and happy. Rest in peace Ebbe, our fearless, kind, loving, gentle leader, and friend. Patch Linden and The Linden Lab Team
  4. It was an "artistic design choice" for that parcel due to that centered tree in front of the house. 🙂 On edit: A lot of people as mentioned, use it as a driveway.
  5. I have said in several various venues that we will sell someone an Openspace.... because why not? We removed Openspaces from the land store because we had every intent of discontinuing them to streamline the product offering. They are not popular, and at one point there were less than 100 of them on the grid when we made the decision, we don't typically use them internally. If you want one, you will need to contact support to order it manually and the Full region ownership pre-requisite applies. Openspaces will not be offered as part of a Premium account benefit.
  6. The covenant in the land floater of the viewer is always going to be the most up to date version which is the one everyone must follow. You can see it from any region within Bellisseria at any time by looking at it on any parcel. https://gyazo.com/d0f9f88aaad42727d67f0e62a86c3503
  7. It is there and ready to be reserved for events just like the Fairgrounds.
  8. Moving a continent is easy enough, it is the map and location disruption that it will cause which would be a challenge to handle. Even in our best efforts and planning, along with lots of notification, there will be people who will not know it has happened until it has. The deluge of support requests that would result could be significant as the map sorts itself back out along with all of the confusion.
  9. We did go look at this, and we decided this will not be fixed anytime soon. Adding regions along here will only move the issue further out and that would just be a costly band aid to a problem that needs to be solved another way which has not presented itself as of yet.
  10. Yes, most if not all of the offending posts are removed from threads like the original that was locked. No need for you to see the issues that sadly ended up taking place nor should it remain. I've also sanitized this thread of off-topic discussion. Let this again be a very clear and stern warning that using our forums for topics not related to Second Life, and this forum sub-category for topics about Linden Homes will not be tolerated any more. It has come to this because people can not behave civilly. There is nothing wrong with some healthy debate but once it goes rogue as an attack or down right denigrates another person or entity on the forums including other Residents, Second Life, Linden Lab (and Lindens), you will face swift consequences which will also include potential disciplinary action against your Second Life accounts. Stay on topic, be polite, follow the rules as has been pointed out. Thank you for understanding.
  11. I haven't been able to find this. If someone could send me a SLURL in world it would be greatly appreciated. 😁
  12. 884 pages in and I think we'd hate to make this thread evaporate if you all can not maintain civility. This is your warning. That said, when folks are getting homes and trying to be neighbors with one another this is not a bad thing, and I've seen some cute/funny/useful ways that people as friends with one another tend to do things between their parcels that create the buddy gate between their yards and share some yard decor anchored between the parcels. I've seen alts of others doing something similar and so far I have yet to see something genuinely bad coming from it, including some of the wilder theories of what could happen described here. Placing objects that extend off your parcel may be returned if they violate the covenant, and is not limited to: creating obstruction, are a nuisance, are out of theme, and any other bunch of reasons. Perhaps I haven't had my coffee yet and I don't like the way your super cute little animesh squirrel is looking at me this morning as he sits 5m outside your parcel line in the middle of the road taunting me like a physics roadkill speedbump waiting to happen. Please remember that there is the spirit of the covenant and then there is the law. Both have interpretation and we will govern it as best we can from both perspectives. There seems to be some confusion on how releases work. We released 28 regions worth of homes, all of those parcels went available immediately. So that part of the release has been done the moment we got past region 1 as a test, then we put 27 more out. They're all in the queue and as of last night there were a little under 500 left to be claimed.
  13. Hello and Happy Tuesday! We are going to start our release of the Chalet Linden Homes today, and we’re excited to be getting them out ahead of when we initially anticipated. Chalet theme homes are modeled after stylized European alpine wood-timbered houses (fachwerkhaus), of a type that you might expect to find in mountains of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, or northern Italy. These are not rustic buildings, but contemporary homes ready for 21st century living. There are four basic models, named Reizend, Edelweiss, Matterhorn, and Alpenrose. Each is also available in an open-plan version that looks the same as one of the basic models but has fewer interior walls, so that you can add your own walls to create a customized floor plan. The open plan versions are named Ravensburg, Eikelen, Moritzburg, and Albus. The chalet homes are set on 1024 sq m parcels in regions with craggy hills and mountain streams, among tall hardwood and coniferous trees. Imagine yourself living in a small village, somewhere far removed from the busy life of the city. Sounds of small birds and gurgling streams are around you, and if you close your eyes you can sense the mountain breeze and the smell of alpine flowers. Winding streets with brick sidewalks are interrupted here and there by small town squares where you can sit to enjoy conversation or bring lunch to share with a friend. Or you can just sit and contemplate some amazing bronze statuary. And for a special outing, visit one of several windmills in the chalet regions to watch how wheat and other grains are stone-ground to produce artisan flour. (No, we don’t have any for sale.) The Chalet Linden Homes feature a brand new community center, “Die Betrunkene Maus” located in Muehlenbach. This new community center has a fun pub like atmosphere and will see decor changes seasonally. As a general reminder and to help facilitate the release process, please do not play “game of homes” by taking and releasing homes during the initial phases of launch. Also it is extremely helpful to refrain from rapidly switching through different home styles to give the regions time to settle and not overload the backend systems. We hope everyone enjoys the latest additions to the Belliseria continent and community! -Patch, the Moles and the Second Life Land Operations team
  14. I've never hidden it, and I think I've discussed it on various occasions, schooling included FSU Motion Picture Arts. Me too, I've done many roles from acting through Producer.

  17. Suffice it to say, this is simply not the case and at best mostly incorrect. We are here.
