  1. Please go back and re-read this post: @Nika Talajaccurately describes how this will work. We usually release homes in large batches. When the house-o-matic starts giving them out, it starts in a few particular regions out of that batch. You all typically figure out very quickly where that is happening. The key here will be for folks interested in picking a home, or a few homes with their friends to look out and away from where the house-o-matic is currently serving up homes. With some patience it'll work, it is going to be a manual process for now. The LandOps team will also work with you to choose another when your ticket comes up if the initial home you chose becomes unavailable and will continue to try to help you find a home until it is resolved. I see this as better than doing nothing, and we're trying to do something of value that you all have requested since the beginning. I don't see this as a bad thing.
  2. One implementation is a pay upon upload with no other calculation. You upload a texture you pay L$10. The other is a system to determine costs on complexity and totally different code to break into....
  3. I have said more times than I can count on my hands and feet, this will come. This is not news to most who pay attention here. On edit: It will be all of the old Linden Homes. Some will be saved as mentioned. How we go about preservation is TBD.
  4. This is a bad assumption. There are certain types of services and elements of products that qualify a fee to have VAT levied upon it. I will spare everyone from going down that rabbit hole because it is safer we if do not as we are not the taxation legal counsel involved in such decisions. 😁
  5. There is no VAT charged on the Annual Premium subscriptions, and that does include Premium+.
  6. Today, we are pleased to release our latest new Linden Home theme, Sakura! Sakura is our take on a Japanese inspired home theme: a mix of modern architecture that respects classical design concepts. Houses are clustered together in cozy neighborhoods with carefully manicured landscaping befitting of a Japanese motif. Retaining walls provide dramatic terrain height changes, canals, and privacy between parcels. The canal and road network runs throughout the theme winding among volcanic peaks and valleys. All of the Sakura regions are offered in both 1024sqm and 512sqm sized parcels. Sakura provides 8 beautiful and highly unique house models, and the smaller 512sqm parcel homes can also be placed on a 1024sqm parcel, giving you a larger outdoor garden space. Every Sakura region has public rezzing zones for both cars and small to medium sized watercraft (just mind the numerous bridges please). As always, we have provided a theme-specific content pack available from the house controller, enabling you to match the style and theme with any modifications you wish to do around your home. Please refer to the covenant rules. Be sure to visit the walled community region, Shobu, for dozens of small gardens and koi ponds, beautiful sights, and a center structure large enough for most all hosted events. After enjoying the gardens, hike up the snow capped dormant volcano of Mount Soji, a 4 region park marking the heart of Sakura along with the Shobu gardens. You can learn more about its lore here:
  7. Your memory is accurate. The plan still stands that the old Linden Homes continents will mostly go away. Being the preservationist that I am, I do intend to save some of them for historical purposes and to cater to those who may still want one. We haven't quite worked out how that will go yet, but I predict that there will be some level of disruption that is unavoidable. For example, part of what will need to happen is the web based control system for the homes will be have to be removed and replaced with the similar/same control system we use in world today on the new homes.
  8. I am pleased to announce our latest addition to the Bellisseria disaster suite of products: Soil Liquefaction
  9. Since the cat is out of the bag as they say, yes, most extremely large scale events have been running on them internally for around a year now, a lot of time and testing went in to this. Meet the Lindens at SLB, some of the Shop and Hop events, various other events of importance happening around the grid if we knew about them might have found themselves on the hosts specifically purposed for events regions.
  10. 203 fully decked out avatars at a very large, popular shopping event that runs monthly. Do I know your friends?
  11. Howdy! I'll try to explain in bullet list form to follow your questions in order Sorry in advance, if I may not understand the nuance of "genuinely simultaneous" correct in my explanation but here is my best try. 🙂 You can have the event region cloned (copied) to another region. We already do this with Linden Realms, Portal Park, or the Welcome Islands as an example. The recipient region can be another event region or a regular full region, keeping in mind that the 30k land impact limit could be a factor. The recipient region(s) can be another empty region that already exists in your ownership and is out there on the grid. This is a custom service we will provide manually as requested generally within 24 business hours. We can spin it up/down as needed. You can have more than one. No, as you would already have to own additional empty recipient full regions or event regions for us to instance to.
  12. It was good. One of the sample events we tested had hit capacity. Most were in draw distance, no "cam" regions. My personal experience had me walking around in the region freely, feeling no incumbrances, and with a subjectively reasonable FPS.. Metrics and feedback show better results than similarly loaded events taking place at a third of that capacity (and frustrating to experience).
  13. We did find in our testing, that "cam regions" can be detrimental to the main event's hosting region.
  14. Done! Let me know if you want something different. 🙂

  17. Hi Everyone! As a followup to the conversation some of you may have noticed on the forums, we are further clarifying the covenant with two new additional lines: Additions to Newbrooke houses must be in the Newbrooke style (flat roof shipping container homes) and blend in seamlessly with the neighborhood theme. Garage and room additions are permitted while maintaining architectural consistency with the theme (eg. roof line, colors, trim, etc). Newbrooke homes should not be modified architecturally with exterior add-ons, such as roof altering additions or changes that are out of theme. Items such as roof top gardens, decks, porch and overhang extensions are permitted. Additionally, we have been noticing people are rezzing outside of their parcel boundaries more than usual on Newbrooke. While we're not going to be hypercritical and measure down to the millimeter, we do want to remind you that per the New Linden Homes Covenant, public space outside your parcel lines is just that: space for the public. Please take extra care not to extend objects outside of your parcel in a way that will block, wall off, or “claim” public areas for yourself to the exclusion of other residents. Items such as these could be subject to object returns upon report/discovery. Due to the popularity and dwindling availability of the larger parcel variants, you may see the map update soon with a number of new regions being prepared to increase Newbrooke availability to meet demand. We hope that you continue to enjoy the Newbrooke theme!
  18. Hey folks. I want to point out that Mercedes and my interaction with them (in my view) were not an issue. My interaction with Mercedes was positive and amicable. I did not receive any further inquiries or questions from them regarding the situation. What occurred, and the continuation of issues after my interaction with them is where the problem seems to lie. There seems to be a pile on effect without both sides of the story and all of the facts. Mercedes has chosen to reveal what they have, and we feel it best to leave it at that as we have no ill feelings or disdain towards anyone. The team and I sincerely apologize to anyone if they were made to feel that way. What I understand was a situation that occurred after I had left for the day was a matter that was handled by our Governance team, and Tommy recently made a statement regarding that situation. The covenant is in the process of undergoing a revision. We endeavor to make it clearer with each theme release as history has shown. We do react and respond to requested changes when the need is pointed out. Each theme brings out unique qualities that we sometimes need to address. Communication is not something that I feel my teams struggle with. We believe we have been extremely open, honest and transparent throughout this project, and to an unprecedented degree over the course of history, more so now than ever. That being said, it is clear that some of you are displeased with our communication over the last few days, and it's something that we will reflect on and reevaluate. So for now, I'll end this here and we will be back with more news regarding an upcoming update to the covenant.
  19. I figure this is a little overdue for a response and while I can't possibly address everything over the last 8 pages or so of this thread, I will try to touch on a few. The issue with doing mods to the houses that significantly change the architectural design of the homes and how they fit the theme of the homes is generally not permitted. This is our stance and it has not changed. In addition to that, people "testing the waters" may, or may not be compliant, and just because it is there today, that does not make it compliant tomorrow. We have also been very accepting and even supported "cafe" builds throughout the history of Bellisseria within the constraints of the covenant. Part of the challenge (and as I've seen called out) is that we can not be everywhere, all the time. Someone may call it inconsistency, others understand we are a finite resource and we appreciate the latter stance. We also can not come out and approve every ask of if one thing is ok versus another. We would forever be engaged in those asks if we tried, and I think most would rather have us engaged in building houses, themes and content and not be the police all the time. This is why we have also engaged the community to first try the neighborly thing of have a conversation with someone who may not be aware of the covenant, and if that fails, please file an abuse report, or let a Mole know. When we have to react because someone has potentially violated the covenant they agreed to when they got their Linden Home, I'd hope we wouldn't be called out with disdain and provocation to further sow discord in the community for having to do so. I know it may not feel good that we had to react, but the few devices we have are to educate, warn and return something. We are always open for polite engagement on any actions we may have to take. If everyone would re-visit the covenant and err on the side of caution instead of trying to push the boundaries and seeing what they can get away with, life would be much easier for everyone. If you are not willing to follow the covenant, you are free to get some land without a covenant. If you take a Linden Home, then you do so accepting the covenant and the enforcement that will come with it. I'll close on the point that there is no favoritism, and I do not understand the genesis of this. I have said repeatedly that I welcome any and all Residents who might have an interesting idea that would foster community growth. If you put together a well laid plan to execute and want to partner with us to do something for the community, I invite anyone to contact myself or Derrick Linden with their thoughts and ideas. We do expect a plan, we will give you guidance on what we expect, and to date few have been brought forward that we've actually been able to work with. This thread has spun into negativity, arguments, and fighting and it has outlived its usefulness so we are going to lock it.
