If the target for the ad was a "p0rn site", I would recomment #1.

Serious Idea: Upload sexy TikTok videos.  I am not a "game player", but after seeing the "Gay Jedi" TikTok videos (mods of the Star Wars "Fallen Order" game with the lead skimpily dressed), I'd play it in a heartbeat if I didn't know it's just a game mod.

Yes my take on it too and it seemed so obvious that I questioned if it was a trick question.

No offense, but the people (not you) who drift towards the "put it all out there, air our stinky dirty laundry for all to see, this is who we are, let our freak flag fly!" attitude would probably choose #1.  

So, I was legitimately asking you.  I wouldn't have teased if you if you answered #1.  Promise!

I didn't see anyone promoting advertising that way. I have no doubt SL could figure out an ad campaign that would promote the Adult side of SL without causing prunes to shrivel up.

I think a lot of people in this thread made a lot of assumptions. Because of previous threads.

Here is why I think that is:

In previous threads which dovetailed into this thread, it was suggested "LL should stop hiding / being ashamed of Adult Content"!

It is very, very easy to imagine (from the context of the discussion and things that were said/written) that the OP wants the OPPOSITE: if you're not "hiding", then you are "there for all to see" - "front and center".

There is no sex on IMVU however we can become naked and have basic interactions.

hmm, perhaps this is a sweet spot... covers lots of ground but no actual sex (or maybe they misrepresenting)

No doubt, there certainly are people that would start to explore SL if they started to see videos on pornsites showing what is possible here.  

 

Can you imagine though, if it were LL uploading the videos 🤣  We would need to have a whole new set of lindens and moles.

I don’t think it’s irrelevant (obviously I as tried to refocus my contribution to the thread and continue discussing) but since the initial ask regarding the adult community sub-topic here was ‘for LL to do something’, a forum thread is probably not the most productive way to try to make that happen, IMO.

Regarding advertising and promotion, it’s there but it’s subtle. Something I notice in the Destination Guide (and I’m not signed in for that tab so this is what any non-member can also see) is that the Adults Only section at the bottom contains 6 subcategories and it seems to be an additional feature, not a ‘walled garden’ or containment category because if you click most any of the other sections and filter for adult rated Regions, there are many listed in other sections like Art, Fashion & Style, etc. There are also 8 featured in Recently Added, and of course the 4 each that are in SLB and Shop & Hop additionally. In suggesting Regions to the Destination Guide, Adults Only is an optional category you may choose but listings for adult rated Regions do not seem to be restricted to that category (and therefore the bottom section) at all.  https://secondlife.com/my/forms/destinations.php?

Love is correct. However, this topic really is about noob stickiness in Second Life. If Philip had dismissed the question as nonsense, we would not even be talking about Maslow. Anyone have evidence that the Hierarchy (as disclosed in 1943) has any relevance to virtual worlds? In fact, it has been revealed (in its original form), to be an idea unsupported by actual evidence involving living humans in the real world.
