What is the use of a discussion when you have to walk on egg shells and can't even say what you really want too?
There is totally nothing said in this thread that is against the policies so far.
If the person with the keys steps in, it is just to protect their own interests.

LL is apparently handing out suspensions for violations of the ToS to at least some of those protesting at the casino, including someone who has posted in this thread.

That specific instance does not surprise me.  It does make you wonder how and why protesting is a violation of the ToS.

Unless the protesters are rowdy, exhibiting "griefing" behavior.

"Sad!" <= Open interpretation!

ETA: Now I see from Scylla's picture (oops, missed it) that they were protesting INSIDE the casino. lulz.

There is always room to discuss on that other site that is up and running again. Where moderation is very laid back.
But which name I can't name without getting something too. V........ . one

Still never heard of it until your other recent post! (It's not like I don't read the Forums..)

That's how it goes with forums.
Only a very small percentage of the targeted audience finds it. Same goes for these forums.
But even one of the former LL CEO's discussed there every now and then in the heydays of that forum.

But we are getting off topic.
Back on topic: I bet (sick) that not even 1% of the active SL residents already knows about the Social Casino project. So discussion and talks on as much places as possible is a good thing to promote it.
In the end "there's no thing as bad publicity, as long as they spell your name right". PT Barnum.

Since the Casino Linden is named SocialCasino Linden, I expect to see some Sugardaddy Linden or Pimp Linden. Nah for real this one looks bad and is bad.

With all free tokens? Sure why not some kind of ...Casino RP? Where people can meet and chat and play games together. But that way? Nope, thank you.

I bet this "Social" RP Casino won't even let you "blow" or "spit" on your sugar-daddy's dice for good luck!

(That's a thing, if you watch enough TV / movies, even ST:TNG I think)

Remembered it's "blow" in ST:TNG

I did not know protesting was against the TOS, especially since protesting around Casinos happens in rl too.

Nevertheless, I am sorry to hear that as I think all role play there should be acceptable including beggars AND protestors.   But, it's their land, so they decide what is acceptable.

Still, sorry to hear that.

I'd have thought that a simple ban from the region would have been both sufficient and better optics. I suspect that's what LL itself would have advised a landowner ARing such activities on their land.

Hopefully they at least have "Disallow Scripted Agents" set for the Social Casino Private Region!

Ironic, given who has been doing the protesting (and got the suspension).

Yes, you got my point!

The Grand Opening of the Social Casino should have some Lindens dressed up in fancy costumes, handing out free Tokens, and balloon animals for the .. kids.. never mind.

Anyway, they missed an opportunity for a Grand Opening festival!  That darned Victorian Bellissaria Hub took away all the eyeballs!

This is rather disturbing and not a good look for LL.   Unless protesters are impeding other players in some way from participating in the casino or aggressively engaging with them, a peaceful protest is one of our only recourses in SL to change anything.  As we've seen, discussions on subjects here in the forums are often locked when one speaks negatively about LL.

Too soon for IBTL?

That's one of the reasons I think that this project isn't really targeting the SL audience.
To stay on theme: They have other cards up their sleeves.

When I went there last night, they were simply standing near the entrance holding signs, and offering info on gambling addiction counseling. They were friendly and engaging (except maybe for the one who speculated that I was really Prok's alt), and in no way impeded me from wandering around the casino.

This does seem to me a harsh response. But there is, I suspect, some history here to which we aren't privy.

Yeah, the silence from the Lindens and the Moles on this thread says more about them then they probably intended.

i think we should keep out the Moles in this case, this comes from higher levels.
And i agree, it says a lot, but i hope you don't believe in fairytales .. it's a company, not your friend or neighbour.

I stopped in earlier today and they were standing there holding the sign but not passing any info like last night.

They were martyred so yeah, not a good look on LL but not surprising.

That's what I thought the signs were, not really protesting, but the signs are information on gambling addiction with a helpline.  This is what happens in real life, too, at Casinos.  It's not really protesting, it's info and a helpline.   Some need it, most are occasional gamblers.  I don't even play the lottery.  I just don't care for gambling.  I do like arcades in real life where I will spin a few times for a random prize.  But, that's an occasional thing like arcades at a Summer beach boardwalk on vacation.

Still, a simple ban would have sufficed as you posted above.

I still don't see why other's could not do this?  You simply cannot have prizes that can be exchanged for lindens and/or real life money.  That could be gamed, that's why probably.

There are times when the bad apples really do spoil the whole bunch.  Most everything on the internet can eventually "be gamed".  If it's not AI or copy-botting, it's something else.  I miss being able to have fun but someone's always gotta ruin it, imo, by cheating.

That's what I thought until I saw Scylla's picture of protesters INSIDE the casino.

Protesters inside a "business" would definitely dissuade normal business activities. Like "griefers".
