More and more, I see the "Gacha" in this thread title and think of "Lady Marmalade":

Gitchie, gitchie, ya-ya, da-da (da-da, yeah)
Gitchie, gitchie, ya-ya, here (ooh)
Mocha Chocolata (ohh), ya-ya (oh)

Hopefully the original.

We need a SL version that can be played on a stage in the casino thingy.

There are 2 sections of the casino that open to the outside. I thought one could be the High-Roller area & one could be the gift shop, but maybe one should be the show stage instead? Maybe the gift shop could be in the landing area?

What about Cabaret for a show?

Almost, It's a great version of it for sure and  I really love that version..

The LaBelle version with Patty LaBelle is my favorite though I think, it just has that touch bit more of soul to it that does something to me.. But they are both really great.. I love the change ups in the newer one. It's so close to being a tie.. hehehe  I like when that happens.. :D

You have obviously not read all of my posts in the two social casino topics here in General Discussion.

LL provides 120 chips/day in addition to the initial 500.  Those daily chips stack. TP to the the social casino for 10 secs every day, and you will have 840 free chips in one week.  It's not that difficult:

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Helios Casino/78/121/23

Avakin Life is not a social casino.  It is more like Second Life.  LL will give you lindens if you play some of the Linden skill games, nothing to do with gambling.  Avakin lets you spin for their free avacoins to use to buy game products.

Other online social casino's do not pay you for winning their tokens either, the same as the SL social casino.  They sometimes invent additional reward tokens or perks, which you are given for playing their games, but different than the game tokens that you win by playing. You can take the reward tokens to another social media site, and enter into a sweepstakes, where you have a chance to win prizes or even cash.  It is a fuzzy legal area whether indirect prizes and contests defines social casino winnings as something of value or not.

There is no difference between the older established social casino games and LL's social casino games. Both are designed to not fit the definition of gambling, and hence no gambling license or State/Country regulations will affect them.

1. I read them. Not hard to do.

2. I noted that you get free chips -- but then you are driven to spend $9,999 to buy more chips, and can't cash out if you win.

3. 840 chips goes fast if you are a gambling addict.

4. If Avakin lets you spin for coins to buy game products, my God, can't you grasp that is not what LL does, and therefore, is missing a key feature of what a "social casino" is about??? What is the draw.

That's the difference!

And your convoluted explanation of the *other* difference -- going to social media sites, entering sweepstakes, etc. -- hey, that's not a feature of LL's gambit EITHER.

BIG DIFFERENCE between all these other entities and LL's money sink, unless they aren't done building it, but I find that hard to believe.

I'm not getting why you feel such an urgent need to justify LL's flawed gatcha policy, and now have to cheer on this crazy casino scheme. Nobody is buying it. And the most obvious differences anyone can read about, and which you yourself have explained, let us know that LL's money pit is NOT the same. Full stop.

I'm done with this conversation.

What Avakin does is not a social casino.  There is a difference between a social game and a social casino.  Social casino's cannot offer anything of value for their coins/chips/tokens.  You need to re-read the articles you posted earlier.

Providing work-around "prizes" is not the main feature of a social casino, and is not the reason why players are addicted and spend real dollars to keep playing.  The SL social casino is simply a "pure" version of a social casino.  If they start offering perks to win, it might increase traffic but will not affect the addicts.  If the perks (which must have no value) increase the purchasing of chips from lindens, maybe LL will do that - opening themselves up to legal challenges.  How many "bears" can they offer?  Once they run out of new (no transfer/ no sale) prizes, what is the incentive even for a bear collector?

You have me confused with someone else again.  I have never justified LL's gatcha policy, and wish they would return.  Exactly the opposite of what you "accuse" me of.  I do like the new schemes where you can see what you buy before you buy it, and have found some real bargains from those systems from the best designers.

I am not cheering on LL's social casino - it seems like the same scheme the other online social casinos are using.  I provided a video of how damaging these can be to a gambling addict.  How is that cheering on LL's version?  Again, you got everything backwards. :)

I think I figured out why this move by LL upset me so much.

Second Life has been my escape from all the horrible *****ty things going on in this world. It's a place where I've been able to find friends, find a creative medium, find some solace for myself.

There's been some hard moments. There's been some tears.

But overall, Second Life has been a place I can feel welcomed and joyful.

Seeing them create something that is so blatantly exploitive.. Made me realize that we're less separated from the abuses going on in first life than I'd like. That at the end of the day, Second Life remains less about the community and more about the profit.

It was always that way. It was that way the day I signed up in 2004 and it's been that way ever since. Nothing has changed.
