I vote FB because they bought Oculus.

anyone except EA/Ubisoft/Warnerbros/Konami/Capcom/Bungie/Valve. I'd say Fromsoft would be bad as well if only because the starting avatars would become multi limbed Lovecraftian horrors with miserably depressing backstorys.

just realized like 90% of you have no idea what i'm talking about, but thats okay.

The only real truth ...

Every lesbian is a man - not all of them but most

Every hetro woman is a gay man - not all of them but most

If they do not voice they are a man - not all of them but most

There are no women in SL  yes i seen some

No matter how silly or impossible a myth or rumor is, there's always someone who will believe it.

These aren't myths. They just need nuance:

  • 90% of all lesbians in SL are men.
  • 10% of all hetero women in SL are gay men.
  • 75% of all women not on Voice are men.
  • 80% of all people in SL are women.
  • 5 child avatars in SL are FBI agents

Please sir, what does this mean?

OK ... you understand IP address, right?  Since we are talking about Fakebook ... I mean Facebook ... we'll use it as the example.  If you open up a command prompt and ping facebook.com you will see:
Pinging facebook.com [31.13.80.36] with 32 bytes of data:
because your computer goes out and gets the IP address numbers of facebook.com and that is what it uses when it then sends out its ping.

The name to address lookup has a few steps.  First, does your computer already know what it is?  Then it uses that number.  If not, it asks the DNS server if it knows the address.

Now, there is a file on your computer called Host.  No extension, just the name.  If you have something you want to always use, it goes in here.  The vast majority of people will never use it.  But you can set names to use a specific address.  In this case Callum used the IP address 172.0.0.1 which is a reserved address.  It always points to the local host; in other words, the computer itself. So when your computer's web browser gets a command to "load this from facebook" it looks on your own computer and then just says "there ain't ***** here to load" all with zero traffic across the network.

Or you could just block it on your firewall but where's the leet haxor skillz feeling in that?

Yes, I got Callum’s explanation that setting it in the host file would block it. I was confused by his initial post, as out of context I couldn’t figure out why he’d want to do that with Oculus.

!quit

Stops all animations?

It was supposedly to stop copybotting.  I don't remember the specifics - way long ago - but it really just gave many of us a laugh.

No. Typing !quit into local chat was supposed to stop copybots.
Technically it did work - for about 3 hours until the copybot software was updated, however the myth this still stopped a copybot persevered for years.

Now I remember! It’s been a long time. I used to see it in open chat lol

Adding a script to a mesh does increase LI. Each script adds .25 to the "server weight." Under certain circumstances (server weight being the highest of the three weights, existing server weight being within .25 of the next higher value) that would cause the land impact to increase.

I believe the land impact for mesh was revised not long after mesh was introduced too - those are the current numbers and when mesh was introduced it may have been a higher increase.

I've just done some tests with both a legacy prim set to convex hull and with a regular uploaded mesh object, and both cases adding scripts adds 0.25 to the server weight until the server weight reaches 1.00, where it appears to cap.

So I don't think adding scripts does, in fact, increase LI, or not by any measurable amount.

I used this script and then kept hitting the "New Script" button in the editor:

integer n;
list l;
default
{
	state_entry()
	{
		llSetLinkPrimitiveParamsFast(LINK_THIS,[
			PRIM_PHYSICS_SHAPE_TYPE,
			PRIM_PHYSICS_SHAPE_CONVEX
				]);
		n = llGetInventoryNumber(INVENTORY_SCRIPT);
		l = llGetObjectDetails(llGetKey(),[
			OBJECT_PRIM_EQUIVALENCE,
			OBJECT_SERVER_COST,
			OBJECT_STREAMING_COST,
			OBJECT_PHYSICS_COST]);
		llOwnerSay("Object contains "+(string)n+" scripts");
		llOwnerSay("Object prim equivalence is "+llList2String(l,0));
		llOwnerSay("Object server cost is "+llList2String(l,1));
		llOwnerSay("Object streaming cost is "+llList2String(l,2));
		llOwnerSay("Object physics cost is "+llList2String(l,3));
	}

	changed(integer change)
	{
		if(change & CHANGED_INVENTORY){
			llResetScript();
		}
	}
}

This is a better answer, thanks! Debunked,  Humbug!
