In addition, publishers, agents, and indie bookstore owners will talk about trends in the publishing industry, especially the impact of online selling and the trend towards self-publishing. A new art installation by Second Life artist, Bryn Oh!

Bryn Oh's Mythical Creatures

Mythical creatures is a collection of 21 figures from folklore, legends and myths that Bryn has modelled. In a twist, these models are split in two and can be seamlessly combined with other creatures to make new ones. Learn about ones you know like the Medusa or discover obscure ones like La Sayona or Jorogumo.

Endless 58-58N

Endless 58-58N is a full region build by Sombre Nyx, inspired by Orkney, an archipelago of about 70 islands found to the north-east of Scotland. It is a destination renowned for its many wildlife populations and gorgeous vistas and landscapes, with terrain that ranges from wetlands, farmlands and rolling moors to dramatic sea cliffs and sandy beaches. In this virtual world, you'll find glimpses of the real place, hints and impressions of it. Above the Orkneys are other builds by Sombre Nyx, and YES by Jackson Cruyff.

Little Santorini

Little Santorini is a Second Life destination based off of the Greek Islands. The region is beautiful and immersive. You can walk on the volcanic sand beach with your lover or take a stroll through the markets as the locals sell their wares. You are able to rent authentic Greek-style homes whether you want to feel more like a local, or spoil yourself with a luxurious villa stay. There are plenty of other things to do such as scuba diving, visiting the hot springs, view from the lighthouse, cozy bonfire area, horseback riding, and taking pictures with donkeys, the list goes on!

Arrela Kingdom Romantic Paradise is a wonderful region dedicated to Love. There's also castle ruins, the ruins grotto, pretty gazebos, Craig Na Dun, and many beautiful photo areas and interesting spots to relax that make Arrela a true sanctuary.

Second Pride Festival 2021 runs this year from June 4th to June 13th. Stand for Justice - In Support of Black Lives

Stand for Justice is a fundraising effort within the virtual world Second Life dedicated to raising funds for Black Lives Matter, Black Visions Collective, Campaign Zero, the National Police Accountability Project, and a Split Bail Fund benefitting 38+ bail funds nationwide. The fundraiser will begin at 12pm Noon SLT on Friday, June 5th, 2020, and feature a grand variety of Second Life creators setting their items out for sale with 100% of the proceeds going towards the fundraiser. Second Pride Festival

The 2020 Second Pride Festival will be held June 5th through June 14th and is the 16th annual celebration of Second Pride in Second Life This year's theme is “Together”. Performances run all day throughout the event, including dance parties with live DJs, performances by live singers, drag queens, and others, as well as a performance by the Men in Motion Dance troupe. You will also find designer shops, art exhibits and more. Everyone is welcome!

SL Pride at Home

Welcome to SL Pride at Home, a Pride-themed hop & shop event starting June 1st! Due to Covid-19 - the world is pretty much still on a complete shutdown. In turn causing a lot of things to have been canceled, especially mass public events, one of which is Pride. SL Pride at Home wants to acknowledge gay pride month, showing support to the LGBTQ+ community throughout June. With the help of an amazing array of designers offering up exclusive Pride items at their mainstores, which will be priced at 99L each! You can drop by this starting location and grab a notecard from June 1st of all participating designers! Pride is still so very important. Equality is still being threatened around the world to this day. Everyone can celebrate Pride because Pride is founded in love, tolerance, and acceptance. Lupus Awareness Fair

Lupus Awareness Fair is an annual event hosted this year by the sorors of Sigma Upsilon Nu Sorority, Inc. & Nu Upsilon Tau, SL Sorority. During the month of May, their mission is to educate and raise awareness and funds for both Lupus Awareness of America and the Lupus Awareness of the UK. As they did in their inaugural year in 2010, they begin April 30th with the annual Lupus Walk that opens the Lupus Fair, which will last the full month of May. SL SciFi Con 2020

Going on its twelfth year, the SL Scifi Con is the largest gathering of science fiction fans, roleplayers, creators, merchants, and entertainers in Second Life! The Con covers scifi and all its sub-genres like horror, steampunk, post-apocalypse, cyberpunk, superheroes, and even a little fantasy thrown in for good measure. The Con supports the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Second Life’s quest to achieve a world without cancer and will run from May 15th to the 24th. Bay City's 12th Anniversary

Bay City, the first mainland commmunity created by the Linden Department of Public Works, will be celebrating its 12th anniversary this Sunday, with a parade down Route 66 and a four-hour-long concert featuring GoSpeed of Kona Stream, Parker Static, Wolfie Starfire, and Quartz! Visit the Bay City Fairgrounds this Sunday, May 17th from 12:30pm to 4:30pm PT/SLT for the fun!

Bay City's 13th Anniversary

Bay City, the first mainland community created by the Linden Department of Public Works, will celebrate its 13th anniversary this Sunday, with a parade down their Route 66, followed by a music event featuring GoSpeed of KONA Stream, Mimi Carpenter, Parker Static, and Noma Falta in the Bay City Fairgrounds. Twisted Paradise

Twisted Paradise is an eclectic artist's retreat, a home, and a playground for diverse interests. Twisted Paradise offers an abundance of inspiration, activities, and fun to maximize all this life offers. Let the mists of creativity twist up and around as you wander through the magical locations. The Twisted Gallery grand opening will be on May 16th at 12pm PT. This month come to see the digital art of Cullum Writer, and the first life photography of Jasmyn Roecastle and Zane Farman.

Colors of Darkness at Janus Gallery II

You are cordially invited to Janus Gallery II on Saturday, May 15th from 11am-1pm slt for the opening of Ladmilla Medier’s Art and the depictive Poetry of Eli Medier. The exhibit is “Color of Darkness.” Fly Kugin and Nina Setner will perform live, making for a life-altering afternoon of art and music. The exhibit will be open until June 10th, 2021.

Raglan Shire's 16th Artwalk

Raglan Shire's 16th Artwalk will run from May 16th to June 20th. A five-week-long event that spans 5 regions. Over 150 artists from around the world participate in this event. Everything from RL photos, paintings and drawings to SL sculptures will be displayed. Artwalk features live music shows as well as regular weekly games, poetry slam, and DJ events. The Modify Event

[Mod]ify is an up-and-coming event that emphasizes creativity among designers and their users. It is the only event in Second Life for items with modify permissions. They want to encourage the creative freedom that is Second Life. Their goal is to establish an event that can showcase designers who are committed to quality, creativity, and customization! The event is open from May 1st to the 31st.

Enchantment A Midsummer Night’s Dream

ENCHANTMENT is a one-of-a-kind shopping experience within the virtual world of Second Life. Enchantment was created to showcase the incredible abilities of creators, bloggers, photographers, and artists within Second Life in collaboration with the wonder of Fairytales. Each build is created to immerse the visitor in the tale. Enchantment hosts a hunt, photo exhibit, photography contest, performance art, music, and Role Play. Every three months a Fairytale is chosen to inspire us all. May's theme is, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream" So come and be Enchanted! The event runs from May 8th to the 31st.

Focus Photography Fair Spring 2021 offers all the tools that photographers and bloggers need and want to facilitate and inspire their creativity! You will find it all here! Adding to that, several workshops and photo challenges, and you can also enjoy daily live music shows! The event runs from April 30th to May 14th.

Summer Sailstice in Second Life

Summer Sailstice is the annual celebration of sailing that happens every year on the Saturday closest to the summer solstice; this is their 21st year! The idea is simply to get as many people around the world out on a sailboat on the same day. In 2021, because of the pandemic, it is safer to move to virtual sailing! Summer Sailstice in SL is officially registered as a Summer Sailstice Event. If you’re already a sailor in SL, visit this location to find out how you can register and join the inworld group to participate in this event on June 19th. SL Sci Fi Con The 13th

The Scifi Con realms are a mysterious pocket of spacetime orbiting through the many planes of the Multiverse. They are wondrous places, always changing and morphing into new and fascinating shapes and landscapes. Once a year, the Con realms briefly intersect our regular Second Life reality, and we get to explore them all over again, discovering what new treasures they have in store for us this time! Mental health issues are common and are not something that anyone should feel ashamed of. Impact offers incredible peer support by people who've already been through, or are going through, the same things as you. Whether you just want to listen in, get something off your chest, speak to a mentor, attend a group meeting or just play games with people who are ok with every part of you, Impact is a great place for you.
