  1. Back on topic. I strayed with the beta grid and local textures comment. There is no point in even considering an SL 2 unless these two major points are accepted: 1. Residents give up the notion of being able to hang onto their current inventories, and 2. LL greatly restricts what can be uploaded into the world. Neither of these will ever be accepted, so what's the point of even discussing the topic?
  2. A cute little face has appeared- Count em ..... six moles hard at work!
  3. I've used the beta grid for years and years. First to test textures before local textures were available. Once local textures became available I didn't need to run over to Beta so stopped using it for some time. In the past couple of years I've learned Blender and began making mesh so once again I run over to the beta frequently. For those who make appliers using local textures is still doable if you have the handy little hud that spits out the UUID for the local texture which you can then drop into a script to apply to the mesh body you're using. Using local textures with instant application with every save in Gimp is nearly like drawing on an object real time. I absolutely love it and is the main reason I still make textures for SL.
  4. Grant money for researching climate change, from both sides, is readily available. Of course money is involved. It always is!!
  5. I spend the vast amount of what I earn in SL shopping. I am a mega addicted shopper!!! Honestly, if I have to pay taxes on the game money I earn so that I can shop, I think I'd rather go play in another online game where you can't cash out!! For the casual creator who only sells in order to finance her shopping addiction this is quite the eye opener. I do cash out from time to time to pay for my annual premium and to keep a balance in my paypal to pay for Netflix, Hulu, and the occasional loan to my son when the end of the month came too soon. Well, time to rethink I guess.
  6. When I read it, I take it as the selling of Lindens and not selling merchandise for which I earn Lindens. I don't know where you're getting the idea that they've not issued these before 2018. It doesn't say that anywhere in the blog. Way back when I had to give over my tax info I was notified that I would receive a 1099K if I met the threshold. That was a good many years ago. This falls into the category of a business owner keeping records and receipts to support their tax return. I hardly see why LL would be responsible to keep records for expenses such as the one Luna used as an example. I'm curious do you also report $L as income when you spend $L on clothing for your avatar? If no, I don't see the difference. As a merchant with a very small business I've never spent $L for advertising nor have I considered that I need to keep a record of $L I spend on my annual premium membership that pays for the parcel my store occupies. For me, SL is much more about playing in a virtual world than making a RL income. I've always believed, erroneously perhaps, that all monies held inside SL do not have to be reported. Now I really would love clarification from LL, but I think they will most likely say to contact my accountant or the IRS.
  7. I first responded using the terms you used thinking you had taken those terms from the actual blog post from LL, but you didn't. They don't use the terms you are using in the post. They don't say cash out or process credit. I had to change my response once I realized what was actually said by the Lab. Please read my amended post. And re-read all the documents linked by LL in their blog post carefully.
  8. Adding to my post here: pasting what was actually said in the blog post. As some of you located in the United States may know, it is tax season. Important documents go out to report sensitive information to the appropriate government agencies every year. As a requirement to ensure that we are adhering to respective state laws for reporting taxes, some of you may be receiving a 1099-K form if you have reached a certain Linden $ sale transaction volume. This form collects information the IRS requires from US taxpayers. Please note that these are time sensitive documents that will need to be completed in order to meet these requirements. Also adding description of the tax form used from the wiki: What is a Form 1099-K? Why would I receive one from Linden Lab, and when? This form is used to report to the IRS the gross proceeds earned from L$ sales transactions in a calendar year. Linden Lab is required to file this form for US residents who reach certain transaction thresholds. For U.S. residents with 200 or more L$ sale transactions with a total amount of gross proceeds in excess of $20,000 in a calendar year, we are required to file a Form 1099-K with the IRS reporting those transactions for that year. **bolding and red text are mine for emphasis. ____________________________________________ This isn't new. I had to give LL my tax info years ago when I reached the threshold for process credits. I had to do the same recently for Sansar process credits. It's income plain and simple and as a US citizen we have to report income. It's always up to us to show our operating costs for tax purposes. We wouldn't expect our RL store customers to provide that information would we?
  9. I stopped by both lands. I think what you have currently is better than the ones for sale. But... BUT .. across the street from those parcels in Bandicoot is a rather large piece of abandoned land that connects to the road. If I were you, I'd put in a ticket asking to purchase the amount of sqm. you desire next to the road. You might get it rather cheaply or it's possible that they will put it in an auction and you could try that way.
  10. I haven't with Blush's inventory, but I do regularly with Debi's. If something doesn't bring me joy, I delete it, quickly before I can change my mind. I've yet to regret deleting anything of hers. And it is indeed a joy not having to wade through years of junk that I never would have worn or used anyway. I keep saying I'm going to tackle Blush's inventory. But damn it's just too far gone. But I will .. one of these days.
  11. My products are just vendor boards. There are no physical models of the products, except for the cottages, and those are not my big sellers. So I don't think that's why. I mostly sell applier stockings and mesh jewelry. Demos are available for the jewelry both in world and on the MP. I've only just started doing demos for the applier items. So honestly, the only reason some come to my shop to purchase is that they belong to my VIP group and they are using store credits. When I had to switch vendor systems the store credits were retained but no new credits are being earned, so even that reason is nearly gone. When push comes to shove, and I think I'm going to close the shop and go full MP, I just can't do it. But with the new added features for MP, it's getting more and more appealing, perhaps to the point of being an "offer I just can't refuse". We'll see.
  12. The value of land even situated right next to each other can and often does vary greatly in value. It just depends on the features of the land. Unless seeing the actual land it's hard to tell. For instance, the fact that the land cannot be terraformed to meet the road properly devalues the land you currently own. You also have to look at whether any of the sides of the land have protected status. Does it connect directly to a road or waterway? Even the shape of the parcel can impact value. So, with the information you've provided, I don't know if it's a fair deal or not.
  13. So do I! Honestly, about the only thing I use MP for is gacha shopping. I just don't like shopping the marketplace for normal things. But at least 95% of my sales come from the MP. So, it leaves me wondering why I keep an in-world store. Especially when I want to put out all those cute gacha things I find and simply don't have enough prims available because my shop is using them.
  14. Interesting! I wonder if anyone has tested whether or not a redelivery is possible with one of those that show erroneously purchased. I sure hope that's not the case.
  15. I do sell a few mesh cottages and have a rezzer on site for people to demo the houses before buying, but I've considered selling a demo where people can rez on their own property or in a sandbox. I'm still up in the air about what to do. I doubt I will give up my land completely so I will still have the tier, but instead of using it for a shop I would use it for building and personal use rather than displaying merchandise.
  16. I've been seriously thinking about closing my in-world shop. I can't think of a good reason to keep paying tier to keep it.
  17. The funny thing is it's not all that new .. been like that for weeks .. if not a few months. But it's great. The redelivery feature for customers really made me happy.
  18. @LittleMe Jewell Considering these posts and their dates .. I thought it was rather dead and buried at the time Jade made her post. Unfortunately, I didn't notice the dates before I hit the submit button. I was going to suggest the same thing Severity mentioned and add that with the implementation of BoM there would be another solution soon, but decided to just delete.
  19. I completely agree. Most of my reviewers leave honest feedback but on occasion I get what I consider as an inappropriate review. Just yesterday someone left a one star review on a product she purchased months ago, complaining that since Belleza updated the body to bento that the appliers are now broken. So it's my fault that Belleza broke something and now I should be held accountable for their error. This is further evidence that my recent decision to create for Maitreya only was a good decision.
  20. Can't believe I ever wore my boobs this big! Taken in 2011. I haven't seen my system body or head in years.
