  1. Please read the description of the body you purchased, and linked here in this thread, carefully. NO where does it say the body is omega compatible. NO where does it say it comes with more than the one skintone, Ginger. This body comes with one skintone, period. I don't think anyone can help you to put a different skin on that body. Only the creator of the body can do that!
  2. I'm going to qualify my answer before I start by saying I've never been pregnant in SL. But as a result of being asked this very question in the Maitreya Lara Friend's group so often, I decided to work on shaping the body's belly to emulate pregnancy. This is beneficial in that your current clothing will change with the shape so you won't need to buy a lot of extra clothing to work with an add-on. This also prevents the problem with join lines and matching skin tones with add-ons. The Lara belly can end up looking more like a torpedo than a belly easily if not careful when modifying the shape. If you are member of the Maitreya Lara Friends group, you can find the pregnancy helper in the proportion tool kit in the groups notices. It is free to all group members. The helper guides you through making adjustments to your shape. It's not a bunch of shapes or a hud that will change your shape. There are huds available that will change your shape as well, I've not personally seen them, but have been told they exist on the Marketplace. I'm not suggesting one method over another. I just wanted you to know that changing your shape is a real possibility if you don't want to get an add-on.
  3. Looking at the Marketplace ad for the body, it does not appear to be Omega compatible. It states: SLUV: You can apply your existing skins (apply any skin, tattoo and system clothes without needing any applier using Bake On Mesh. So it seems that you will have to wait on BoM to apply a skin or make a skin for it since the dev kit is available and the body is fully mod. Reading the information for the head you should be able to use any Omega head applier on it. I have no personal knowledge of either the head or the body. I just read the information provided in the Marketplace ads.
  4. No more black patches, lots of new boats added, and oh my all those little houses! I just seem to be excited------
  5. Me too! Especially after being ever so gently reminded of that fact by Patch himself.
  6. I agree with the previous posts about the big three bodies: Maitreya, Belleza, and Slink. Also agree completely that Maitreya is the most supported; however, that's not nearly as pervasive as it once was, so if you prefer the shape of either the Belleza Freya or Slink Hourglass don't worry about clothing so much as creators that were once Maitreya only are now adding those two body sizes to their clothing lines. The one thing I'd like to add to the list in regards to mesh heads is to carefully demo the animations that come with the head. If you buy a head that is gorgeous unanimated but the then face distorts in ways you aren't fond of during animation it can make you regret your purchase. Also, pay close attention to the main HUDs. Do you like how the HUD works? This should be a priority when selecting a head IMO. I find the video tutorials made by Strawberry Singh to be a very helpful resource when looking into mesh heads and bodies. This is a link to her YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCE6xvjkOu6wE-wJ-7-1x5bw. Scroll down until you see the heading: Second Life Content. You will find playlists for mesh bodies, female mesh heads, and male mesh heads. She has done a video on all the major brands heads and bodies. She goes over how the huds work and shows various skins on the heads.
  7. I suppose search results can vary from person to person, so I'm not sure if my experience and his would be the same. When I did the search this morning I had lots of pages of items without interference from gacha items.
  8. I've googled it many many times .. for some reason it doesn't stick.
  9. Why can't I ever remember what IBTL is .. dangit .. I know the peeps at google are wondering if I'm ever going to get it.
  10. Now all this time I thought you were in the UK. Now I need a major mind shift. Not nice to do to an old lady.
  11. I do not like the new category for gacha items, unless that category gets broken up into quite a few sub-categories. I'd love to respond to this but this thread isn't for people's opinions about gachas.
  12. He spelled gacha wrong. If he will do it again, I tested it, the results will be much more to his liking, though not perfect, but much better than when spelling it gatcha.
  13. Love gachas. Please don't mess with them. I don't have a problem with having a toggle to turn it off for those who have trouble using "NOT". But gachas rock!! By the way, I have no vested interest in keeping gachas as is. I do not sell any gachas. But I dearly love shopping for gachas in the MP.
  14. Try -> geralt NOT gacha I think the problem is your spelling gacha wrong.
  15. Personally I limit my fps to 30. Avatar physics do all kinds of wonky stuff at higher than 30. My system can easily get 60, even up to 100, but I don't need it. I still prefer to use complexity numbers over checking fps, as that would be meaningless for me since I limit fps. I agree that complexity is borked, but I still think it at least gives me some indication. I'd rather wear a dress that weighs in at 4k rather than a dress that weighs in at 80k.
  16. It's not a perfect system as it's been noted that the calculations are faulty, but it's all we have, so using the complexity numbers we can see in the viewer is the easiest method for checking complexity. I only use the Firestorm viewer so can't speak to other viewers. There is a preference that lets you turn complexity number on and off. Your complexity rating will show in your tag. You will also see everyone else's number in their tags. Personally, I just watch the complexity numbers that pop up in the corner of my screen as I put on and remove items. If the number jumps too much for what I think it should then I don't buy the clothing/hair/shoes whatever. It's unlikely that your skin will slow you down. It's a texture so it does count toward your overall complexity, but it's minor as nearly all skins used for mesh bodies/heads are 1024 resolution. What can slow you down though is wearing lots of makeup layers or clothing layers that also use 1024 textures. Fortunately, once BoM comes out we will be able to bake all those layers of textures into one texture thus reducing complexity substantially. The only comparison I know of is on the Mesh Body Addicts webpage, but unfortunately, the data hasn't been updated in awhile so keep that in mind if you do use that source.
  17. I log in to a black screen. I have disabled login screens in the FS viewer in preferences. **Shoulda read the whole thread before offering my solution. Oh well, now it's seconded!
  18. I actually believe that making an avatar of a different race and then walking around in that avatar to see how people react to you is an eye-opening experience. I haven't personally made an avatar of color here in SL, but I did in World of Warcraft. I was shocked to see how differently I was treated by some simply because my skin was dark. I think you're getting some of that now with your friend objecting to your having a black avatar.
  19. When I'm bored, and that's way too often, the first thing I do is tear down my home parcel. It's good I have a home parcel, because I'd remodel my shop monthly, and that wouldn't be good.
  20. Jumps up and down and does the happy dance. Thank you so much for the clarification.
  21. Very good point. As a consumer, I know I nearly always will go to the in-world shop to complete my purchase once I find something while window-shopping the marketplace.
  22. I used hair, clothes, jewelry as they are the biggest offenders in the older prim based objects. Of course it doesn't matter what the object is that you are attaching. They ALL affect complexity.
