We laughed when we realized that one of the songs, Dame Dane (original title: 馬鹿みたい / Baka Mitai = I’m Such A Fool), was on the selection. It’s one of those sappy and cringey songs that are so humiliating you only sing it when you are dead drunk and wasted at the karaoke so I added English subtitles to give it a karaoke feel.

Japanese translator and interpreter, currently on the bilingual loop of account executives for a global payment technology brand. I was working at the Consulate-General of Japan in San Francisco when my husband’s company relocated us to the United States from 2010-2014, around the same time I got into SecondLife. I must admit that being on SL did “enrich” my vocabulary in English quite a lot, and it helped me so much at work.

For men, if there is one store that can summarize my idea of what attractive PG looks like it would be K by Kitt Ragu. Maybe the style is boring and MEH standing next to what the general (and younger) SL crowd perceives as “the hot bad-as$ guy,” but I think it looks rather lovely and refreshing.

This community has been mentioned in an earlier post, but I went on a long drive up north (I come from the deep south close to the port of Promethium) to the regions of Keswick, Buttermere, Langdale, Windermere and Coniston, and took some photos. Langdale Seaside, or the Greater Coniston is a Northern English countryside town that has houses in all sizes from L$10 cottages all the way up to antique mansions and castles. Quiet laidback atmosphere with plenty of public areas; four ports and an extensive road connected to the Sansara Waterways and Linden Roads. Many of the houses are still occupied, and I remember the locals there being very friendly when I visited last year. If you are going to buy a mesh head, I recommend LeLutka Kane predictably because it has Asian features out of the box, but I also recommend you to try the skins I will mention below on the Alain head. Totally subjective but I just find that head sharper and sexier lol Stray Dog will always be the first place people go to for high quality male skins regardless of ethnic appearance. I like Finer Threads too (try Kaz or Kenshin), and Vendetta (try Matsuo or Liang) is worth mentioning as well. Clef de Peau also made a few high-quality Asian skins, my favorite being Kenzo: Not as popular but in my opinion, Takeshi (LeLutka) and Xin (CATWA) by Bold & Beauty deserve more recognition. They look very handsome in-world: EDITED to add Raonhausen. I remember buying this for a male alt. It is supposed to be for LeLutka Skyler but it also looks good on LeLutka Alain: If you are more into the k-pop idol or “Flower Boy” aesthetic that looks less rugged/masculine and more on the cuter side, you can either go for MUDSKIN or any of the Korean brands at LoveGame like V.C. Lab. What people usually do is wear those skins on CATWA Dino or LeLutka Kane or Connor. Some even use GENUS Strong (yes, a female head) with a Maitreya Flat Chest (IKR, a female body!) OR a female BOM skin on a feminized MALE head (Avoixs and Little Foxy Beauty seem to be popular for this purpose) to achieve that soft, delicate Asian boy look. The skins in this category are usually super pale even in darker tones and if you have a hard time finding body skins to match, GLOOM sells body skins that come with a universal neck fix and so many options (skinny, muscular, busty, etc.) for male, female, and those who are somewhere in between. “Low Cost Luxury Living at Ontario Park Rental” Discovered this hotel while driving around northern Sansara. The build is mostly old-fashioned primitives, but I thought it looked nice especially inside. At only L$20 per week with a 5 prim allowance I thought it was perfect for mainlanders who like to live frugally and just need a room to sleep, change, watch Amazon Prime, and unpack boxes. What I liked about it was that it was along the main road with a lovely little park in front, and there are boat slips nearby. There is also a L$1 love motel next to it with full bento beds if you wanted something really cheap, or just an almost-free place to “conduct business” if you are a “young and fresh model touring the mainland” :grins: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ontario/223/50/60

Oh, I still remember (and have) that skin by DrLife! Back in the day it was the only brand that carried photorealistic Asian skins, and one tone cost around L$2000? I went there earlier and saw the price remained, but I have no objections. It was like a justifiable luxury. Problem is, all the high-quality “beautiful Asian girl” avatars had the same look due to lack of skin diversity back then so I went for a less realistic but cuter skin by a lesser known designer who is no longer in SL these days. From 2010: Below, a photo I took of a friend who I think of as a mentor and older brother. He has not logged in for almost a decade (maybe he does but under an alt?). Glad I kept his photo in my inventory, sometimes photos are all we have of people who were part of our lives, whether in the 1st or Second.
