  1. I was using "occupied" to mean the same as "claimed", in other words, assigned to a resident. I speculate that the absence of stilts on pier/water is either a mistake or because there are fewer total parcels in these themes compared to the other themes on the top 5 list.
  2. In the 2023 - Second Life Year In Review… And What to Expect in 2024 blog post, they list the Top Linden Home Themes. Where is Stilt on Water and Stilt on Pier? I have observed that those themes were frequently not available, similar to Houseboats. Is this ranking based on total occupied units rather than percentage of inventory that is occupied?
  3. Perhaps you are confusing your opinions (based on your own experience) with actual analysis of real data about resident behavior and Linden Lab financials. My own opinion is that it is a miracle that Second Life still exists, which I assume is because it is privately owned and laser focused on having a positive cash flow. This means LL has a limited ability to do new things as they need to keep expenses down and not borrow money. I also assume that the new stuff they will release in 2024 is intended to increase revenues and/or lower expenses. About mainland, I have owned there since 2009 and now occupy parcels in three locations. Mainland works fine for me, warts and all. I have 4 Linden Homes (3 on water) and think that Bellisseria is an incredible value, which perhaps accounts for it's popularity.
  4. You are correct. My map has a boo boo as it shows the orange and yellow lines connecting south of Bleaberry Tarn. Sorry.
  5. The point of connecting Sansara is to provide a protected path to the Sea of Fables, which connects to everything else in Sansara. The best route there is the East River which is not too narrow and has a more or less sailor friendly community. The East River is best accessed at Bleaberry Tarn. Another option is connecting via Torver. There is a protected waterway on the west border, but the entire east border is privately owned, hence, a portion of it would need to be converted from private to Linden owned. The waterway west of Torver is quite narrow and the route to the Sea of Fables is circuitous.
  6. Department of Speculation So how will Sansara get a protected water connection? The map below presents two options that appear to be front-runners. I speculate that the yellow route is more likely to be the initial connector as it requires the least number of new regions and does not complicate expansion plans for the Ranch or Med themes. The water connector at Typhoon might turn out to be a cul-de-sac. UPDATE: The map above does not show the correct connection to Sansara. The actual connection is expected to be Bleaberry Tarn., which is several regions NORTH of where it is shown.
  7. Breaking News... Typhoon Island has been circumnavigated by diamond Marchant who commented after the feat... "Twas not a long journey, but an important one." Typhoon island is located in the connector regions between the Ranches and Meds.
  8. I don’t mind the gap, rather, I am not a fan of naming a region “Damp Spot”. What’s next, “Moist Place”?
  9. There is a Rorschach test in one of the new regions... http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SSPLongshore/175/82/24 I dare not post a photo. What do you see?
  10. I am fine with the way things are. Just hope that SL continues to exist. As long as I can shop, all is good. It seems inconceivable that LL would enact any rule changes in the OP.
  11. I believe the initial (day one) connection to the Meds will be from one or more Ranch regions as that would require a minimal span of two regions. For example, Silo, Starline, and/or Pinto Pastures connect to the Med regions to the north. There will be a road connection and some sort of theme blend area, similar to the Newbrookes and Chalets. I do not think there will be an initial water link from the Stilts as they are at least 4 regions away. Water access does not appear to be a priority for either the Ranches or the Meds.
  12. A question for SSP oracles… what existing region(s) will connect to the Meds? Extra credit for a map.
  13. I love the literal appropriateness of the word fubar in this context. Fubar is short for f’d up beyond all recognition.
  14. I am so happy you posted here because this is one of the few forums I follow. I am hoping that Lelutka will open the vault and allow us to get Lelutka trees from prior years.
  15. Does anyone know if it is possible to get Lelutka trees from previous years?
  16. I had an odd and novel experience with a folder today… an inability to rename. Eventually it worked. Perhaps your issue will also resolve.
  17. Additionally, that method barely works for themes that rarely become available. I second the motion.
  18. Hope the ranch regions get a coastline that provides a water connection to Sansara’s East River.
  19. Appears to me as the lowest priority. A much better use of water regions is connecting the Sansara East River, completing the northern log coast, and eliminating that bad inside corner on the west coast of Satori.
  20. Yes, this has been my experience over 14 years of sailing and flying. As a hardcore vehicle fanatic who has participated in and planned hundreds of cruises, we DO attempt to avoid conflicting with other HVFs. We also distribute charts and HUDs in an attempt to minimize orb and banline encounters.
  21. Me too. I downloaded Speedlight on my iPad and got one of those when I logged in.
  22. Due to having a bit of tier headroom, I combined three abandoned parcel purchases in Osiliers (Satori) into a property that spans route 8C and provides a roadhouse and cemetery. The roadhouse provides a party venue for sailing cruises that might end in nearby Chiffre. The cemetery was a Haunted Destination during Halloween and is now being converted into a GTFO hub (perhaps someday we will have corpses as a cargo item, one can hope). The point was to do something useful with abandoned mainland that others may enjoy. One common theme among all my properties is that they are reachable by vehicles (mostly boats).
  23. NOT a scam. A scam is a deliberate attempt to trick or deceive. Not getting what you want at a particular time in Game of Homes is akin to ordering avocado toast at a restaurant and being told they are out of that menu item. (btw, I have never ordered avocado toast, however, I did order Punkin Pecan pancakes at Dennys and they arrived sans pecans) Meta Comment: This situation may suggest why SL does not appeal to the masses but maintains a dedicated smallish population of fans/residents. We fans see numerous seemingly negative issues as "problems to be solved" or as "a challenge of the game". Others might see them as headaches and scams.
