  1. The Bellisseria Anniversary build has been deployed. The four regions SSPBA1, SSPBA2, SSPBA3 and SSPBA4 replace the Bellisseria Fairgrounds and the airstrip region to the east of that. The build appears to be a larger version of the Linden Homes demo region but also includes a gift area and various activity spaces. A small helipad public rez zone is located in SSPBA3.
  2. View of Ten Acre Wood and Redbranch Hollow (Bellisseria Ranch) from Harter Fell (Sansara)
  3. Tis true, but perhaps not hopeless. There is a possible path
  4. In addition to what others have said, it has been my experience that changing only eye color can dramatically alter a face. I tend to prefer brown eyes and find that blue eyes make me look very different.
  5. My opinion is that when you spend time in Second Life and build things (and are not trying to sell stuff), the person you need to satisfy is yourself. Do you like the build? Is this a place that gives you joy? You seem to be building your landscape using top creators, so bravo. My only advice is to not rely too much on any one creator (e.g. Skye).
  6. This topic reminded me that there is an Arcade round in progress that I had not visited. I immediately went over there and found two vendors of interest, YaY.
  7. Kraftwork is having a store-wide half-off sale until the end of March so I got a few things for my Tortuga kitchen. LI seems reasonable. Items included below are KraftWork Mini Boho Kitchen, KraftWork Dual Source Freestanding Range, KraftWork Kitchen Rails . Dish Rack, KraftWork Kitchen Rails . Magnetic Knives Strip and KraftWork Beets & Tomatoes. I did the custom splash tile and the cabinetry for the range.
  8. Inara Pey's post concerning this topic... https://modemworld.me/2024/03/21/linden-lab-statement-on-recent-allegations/
  9. Interesting graphic in the Med rez zones... after studying it awhile, I concluded that it is a top-down view of a Segway type vehicle with one wheel and mirrors.
  10. There is a Belli covenant which you can read in "About Land>Covenant". It includes this statement... " Skyboxes, platforms or other floating objects are only allowed above 2000m to keep the skies clear of physical/visual obstructions and casting ground shadows" Should a covenant violation be reported via an AR, governance may eventually act upon it. My experience is that violations such as zero-second orbs or low-altitude skyboxes or security walls are addressed within a few weeks.
  11. What works for me is... 1. Unbox gifts/purchases immediately and delete unwanted items 2. Sort into numerous well-named folders 3. Take a photo of anything I really care about (clothes, hair, christmas trees, pumpkins, etc) and store on a hard drive... use a thumbnail program to locate stuff 4. Save every outfit in Avatar>Outfits
  12. ...done. It did make me a little sad to abandon a Linden Home that I acquired in May, 2019. However, the new Beckridge Gallery is more like a gallery and meets the amended requirements for the Destination Guide. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Malfelonius/37/110/22
  13. Can a Linden Home be in the Destination Guide? Officially, Linden Homes can no longer be destinations. This was communicated to me gracefully by editor@lindenlab.com. Thank you. This is a change in policy. As of today, the written policy remains Evidently, Linden Homes are intended to be residential properties and not are not suitable as destinations. Perhaps update the written requirement? The Beckridge Gallery (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Beckridge/198/135/25) remains, for now, and there may be one or two nice photographs there. I am in the process of relocating to mainland.
  14. Test your mouse and keyboard in another program to make sure they work. After starting the Second Life viewer, use your mouse and click on the main window. This directs keyboard input to this window. Then move your avatar using the arrow keys.
  15. Thanks for your post. Nice to get a perspective from a land baron. I also notice things slowing down, such as vacant beach rentals near my mainland beach parcel and vacant abandonned land near protected water. I shop (alot) primarily at inworld events. But I like Marketplace for finding occasional specific items and often go inworld to check them out first. I also sell vehicle textures on Marketplace and that works because it allows people to find them.
  16. Fortunately, the bridge columns are far enough apart to allow an Infinity Freight Barge to pass, hence, we will be able to supply this part of Bellisseria with the essentials for virtual life. Barge Passing Bridges
  17. Holy Construction Crane, Batman! It's a bridge from Marimba to SSPSubtle Joy. The track is not yet operational (no track guide).
  18. My Magic 8-Ball says that the railbed located here http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SSPEtoile Brillante/45/2/22 wiil turn west towards Typhoon because 1. The railbed running through Marimba and Admiral Bligh appears finished and the Moles rarely do rework 2. @Abnor Mole has told us that Typhoon is not done 3. Cam inspection of Cape Madelaina and regions south do not appear to have railbeds (so it will not turn east)
  19. Exactly. Any company/product that loses a billion a year is both stupid and unsustainable (the context of the quote is "copying" CrapBlox but I also think CrapBlox is stupid). It may be that SL is a niche product that primarily appeals to an older demographic, say 35-ish and beyond. By that time, people begin to notice that their dreams might never be realized. SL gives some respite. I anticipate a steady supply of candidate residents, assuming we don't first figure out how to age-stabilize (is a joke) Since the internet/web was unleashed upon he masses in the mid-90s, a prevailing paradigm has been to (1) create a platform (2) host user-created content - directly or indirectly and (3) monetize - by any means. The closer SL gets to this... the longer it might last. Making content that you think will appeal to residents is a huge gamble. Better to focus on things like infrastructure, user interface and governance.
  20. Returning to the OP, I realize that this is not gonna happen. Sorry to trouble the forum. Wagner James Au sums it up nicely.
  21. (is not joke) Actually, I believe that Linden Lab is ALREADY doing it and it has nothing to do with content as that can be created on small timescales by anyone. All the generation alpha members of my extended family use smart phones and tablets, even the kindygardeners. (None use goggles as of yet) Second Life needs to operate well on the devices that young people currently use.
  22. All I know is what is written in the New World Notes post. The Linden Lab press release that announced the acquisition now returns a "page not found". The NWN post mentions an investment group led by Brad and Randy but claims the official owner as the Waterfield Group. I have searched but not found any source that names any other members of the investment group.
  23. A few things... 1. Are not Generation Alpha, as teens, just like all teens from all times? They embrace new technologies and scare/annoy old folks as expected. 2. Linden Lab is privately held by the Waterfield Group and they do not disclose financials. We have no current facts. 3. Roblox is public, has a depressed stock price, and is on track to loose a billion again this year. They have huge daily use numbers... by children. The top game is Adopt Me which concerns collecting pets. The challenge is perfecting the algorithm to serve up billable games to tweens. I assume they have a churn problem due to puberty. Their primary income source appears to be currency sales and taking a cut from developers.
  24. if you are Premium Plus and the old Linden Home is not currently occupied, you can request it via a support ticket, assuming you do not currently possess another Linden Home on that account and you have tier available
