  1. Check with the landlord to determine if the landlord has rules about this sort of thing, some do.
  2. Is this a pod system? Is this a system that has free demos put requires payment for the real deal? Is this an ad?
  3. Apologies for being possibly off-topic but whatever. I find this comment to be thought-provoking. Setting aside the issue of if 4X is the correct multiplier, this logic appears related to the concept of dog years. The idea is that you use a 7X ratio for dogs because you are trying to normalize dog age and human age based on life span. Another implementation of this would be, on a species basis, to express age as a percentage of expected life span for that species. So in the dog/human example, a 35 year old human and a 5 year old dog both have the age 50%. With respect to human age vs. avatar/account age, the analogy to dog years breaks down because there is no expected life span for avatar/account. I suggest a better analogy is that of an astronaut on the Mars. The age of the astronaut is not recalculated based on the Martian sol. Similarly, I suggest that SL age and RL age advance by the same amount of units. I have ignored relativistic effects And of course, for things like Mars missions, sols are used as a reference time for logging events.
  4. Just to add to what others have said about flying in Second Live, many aviators (including myself), consider SL aviation to be a game which involves NAVIGATION. This means flying over protected water/land and navigating around known obstacles (e.g. quick orbs, banlines). When we find new obstacles, we assimilate that knowledge and it adds to our perfection. We make charts. Resistance is futile. We LIKE mainland just the way it is. Today on the Skyward Flying Club group flight, we flew around Corsica. I heard no reports of problem banlines or orbs. But I did hear complaints about bad region crossings. I personally saw quite a few ghosts on region borders (aircraft that appear motionless but are not actually there). Would be nice to get some remedy for those kind of things.
  5. To keep things truly civil, we should refrain from discussing people (RL or inworld), places and events, official contests and challenges, creating things, technology, commerce, land, anything not in english, and answers to any questions (not just the dumb ones). Apologies if I repeated any previous suggestions. TL;DR Peace out!
  6. Just Water Theme I propose a 2048 theme that consists of water regions with empty (other than water) 2048 parcels.... and maybe a few decorative sandbars, similar to the traditional houseboat regions. No Linden docks. Belli covenant applies with the addition that any structures must conform to a nautical/marina look (which we get to debate incessantly). Alternately, a program could be created that allowed creators to create/sell structures for this theme following an official approval process. This might be a cool way to connect Sansara to Belli.
  7. Link please (can't find using inworld Search or web Destination Guide) Found IT! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Vortex Adult Sandbox/128/120/23 I searched the world map for a region named Vortex The teleporter is interesting. I teleported to a place called Hobo Slums which is a skybox in the same region. Nice teleporter FX.
  8. Oh, is THAT what was behind those curtains? I always wondered BACK TO THE TOPIC... I have submitted an application for a booth in the Second Life Communities Exhibition, that being a form you fill out. It would be appreciated if some feedback could be given about the status of the application.
  9. Dead serious response: BelliBins are real and yes, you use the blue ones for recycling (and the yellow ones for your toxic waste, orange for bio waste, green for yard debris) Sad but true response (almost cries): Well, years ago we made the very reasonable request to "the powers that be" to award the esteemed Bellisseria Deptartment of Solid Waste (and not-solid waste) an ENTIRE region for use as a landfill. Note that we were being VERY VERY scientific as Belli has tons of waste and a 256x256m region hardly seems sufficient to contain it. We used as precedent the fact that the Bellisserria Bureau of Bureaucracy or whatever those SLACKERs call themselves get a whole region to themselves... not fair (sobs). This egregious misallocation of resources has left the BDSW demoralized. It's a tragedy. To add injury to insult, it seems that the marvelous HUD used to collect trash has been broken for a while and not a peep from anyone. I was able to bribe a techy kid down the street to fix it and it (BelliFind HUD ) is being bulk redelivered as we write/read. Some joy amongst the sadness.
  10. A few things... 1. Herbert Thepervert reminds me of Mr. FitzPervert from Bridget Jones (personal fave) 2. Since you are not allowed to "set home" to a parcel unless you have that perm, if you do succeed at setting home, should it not become invalidated and not work if you subsequently lose that perm? Is this a bug? 3. As to the reprobate (my fave word since watching The Holdovers), can you not log into to some other region and wander over to the site of your former home (staying outside of parcel boundaries) and AR the reprobate for being a reprobate (aka a violator of our cherished covenant)?
  11. I have used this line of code for years to fetch map tiles, however, recently it stop working and returns status 301. If I simply type in a url in my browser, for example, https://api.gridsurvey.com/simquery.php?region=Kiva&item=objects_uuid I get back the uuid of a map tile, so grid survey is apparently fine. So what changed?
  12. This it TRUE. I must be in the twilight zone. I swear I TPed into Typhoon and was noticing the green bumpers. No Idea how I wound up in Goodge Reef.
  13. This rez zone was built after Sunday Jan 28, when my post and Abnor's reply happened. This is Feb 1 so it happened sometime in the last 4 days.
  14. Never mind. This photo is from Goodge Reef, not Typhoon.
  15. My BelliBin Routes HUD (free) is useful for finding rez zones in old Belli. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/DS-BelliBin-Routes-HUD/18569248
  16. Another option for road connectivity would be from Chestnut Grove in the Ranches to Dunvegan in Sansara, where abandoned and protected land could be assembled into a route to an existing highway in Drum (with a small amount of reclamation). Note that both options would encounter a challenging elevation change to reach the existing Sansara highways. One question I would ask is... why bother? When Bellisseria opened in 2019, I spent a lot of time exploring old Belli to find good road vehicle routes for trash collection (BelliBin). The BelliBin Routes HUD is the product of this effort. Later, I abandoned this approach because I found road travel over long distances in Belli to be tedious, due to narrowness of roads and the twists and turns. I would imagine that if Sansara were connected to Belli via a road, most of the traveling would happen near the connection points and longer trans Belli travel would be rare. But who really knows.
  17. If you use the return option, it should go back into inventory, possibly in your Lost and Found folder. Then you can wear it.
  18. A Bit of Bellisseria Map History Here is a map of what some might call "Old Belli" that divides the area into BelliBin trash collection regions. Curious (to me) is that the only name on the map that is perhaps still in use is 'The Pickle". From September 2019.
  19. Yay Game of Names. I usually go with names that Lindens use. For Linden Homes, this kinda works geographically except for houseboats and campers. The only non-actual-theme-name that is anywhere close to being "official" is Fantasseria and only because Patch used it in public chat. And Sakura will always and forever be Sakura. "Pickle" is good (but not squishy, Yuck). My pet names are Trads, Vickies, Logs, Stilts, Meds, Ranches, Chalets, Campers, Houseboats and Newbrookes. And, of course, that lake in the middle of the Trads is Lake Diamond. The river splitting the Chalets and Stilts is The Great River.
  20. so get an alt and seat the alt on your giant mega yacht, then you will be able to stand and walk around your giant mega yacht. understand however, that we have alt monitors and they expect all such alts to have beautiful mesh bodies, a full price mesh head, with beautiful clothes, hair, makeup and breast physics.... gotta keep up appearances
  21. Any chance of a rez zone in Typhoon to provide direct water access for Premium Plus residents that have Mediterranean homes?
  22. Many of us make maps and make up names for geographical features. I do it for fun and have no expectation that what I make up will be used by others. The reality as I see it is that the only names that are for sure are REGION names. I find that that continent names and Linden Home theme area names are fairly stable but there sometimes is confusion about borders, for example, the border between Nautilus and Corsica. Also different communities use local names for things based on what is built. We have a Game of Names.
