  1. You have to listen really hard to hear the morse code in the static. You'll hear it if you have trained your ears.
  2. After reading through the thread, (yes I know, necroed) I'm pretty sure the bots described were land bots looking for parcels to snap up.
  3. You're using a bit too broad of a brush there. Most of the guys I've known over the past 45 years or so, don't ever claim to have been in the military when they haven't been. There was an air force base not 5 miles from the town I grew up in. It wasn't the only AFB in that state either. There were also a few army bases (one well known boot camp about 50 miles from the town I grew up in) as well as a naval and a marine base. So, no, not every guy in America claims to have been in the military and seen war. Just the young ones who erroneously think it will impress others. It always catches up to them sooner or later.
  4. Yet I'm the one you claim is arrogant. Did you forget about all the fingers you're pointing back at yourself while pointing one at me?
  5. Mother: Behave yourself! Me: Well... you can be good and you can be bad but how in the world do you have? *merry mayhem ensues*
  6. Yes. Here's me in a sexy pose. No, no shanty. Just a den. Come on in, it's cozy inside.
  7. I don't think so. Les is still around. He just doesn't post often. https://community.secondlife.com/profile/960998-les-white/
  8. Wonder how long it would take to make the trip in a paddle boat. I used to love getting out on the rivers and streams with mine. Oh wow. Les still has them up for sale and on the MP! https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Paddle-Boat-21/46407 and for those who like sharing the fun: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Paddle-Boat-Rezzer-and-personal-craft-v12/46411 Les is another of the oldbie creators that I miss. Used to love hanging around his shop and watching him build and testing scripts. Damn. That was a long time ago.
  9. Looks to me like you are confusing impersonating an officer with wearing clothing bought at army surpluses which carry more than just army "issue". ETA: I'm a civilian and have owned a naval flight jacket legally purchased at a local army surplus store for decades. I've also purchased other things besides clothing. All perfectly legal.
  10. I've always wanted to live in a place like that but the neighbors always turn out to be jackasses. ETA: That was meant to be funny. Not saying any of the neighbors living in that area are jackasses.
  11. There is at least one Linden Home sim region open to the public for previewing. There's no reason potential residents shouldn't be allowed to rez things to test it out as Blush did. That's part of what a preview is for, not just taking a looksee. Remember the auto return feature? Yep, mainland regions have it, too.
  12. Please stop taking your feelings about what others have said and/or done out on me. I am not those other people. I feel the same way about other creators who think people don't have the intelligence or ability/capability to mod something so that it fits their needs. There have been so many times I wanted to do something in SL and couldn't because the only items available didn't quite fit my needs and they were no mod. I can't tell you how many projects I had to shelve over the years because of that. Yes, it is your creation. Yes, you have the right to dictate it being mod or no mod. Yes, I have the right to not buy your nomod product. And round and round it goes. *sighs* You seem to be taking the things I'm trying to say personally and that is not how they are meant. If an item is copy and I mess it up then there is no issue. I can just rez out a new one and try again. I assume creators not setting permissions no copy/mod would be a no brainer. After much trial and error, I found it best to make my items copy/mod/no trans.
  13. Something similar happened to me back in 2006. I dreamed I was actually in SL along with my other half. At first it was so real. Then it turned into a nightmare. I've made it a point to not think about SL as I fall asleep since then. It was that bad. I woke up with tears streaming down my face.
  14. What accusations? Where did I ask you to explain yourself? I understood you quite well. You seem to be misreading my posts as I said I made the homes, not you. I didn't say anything about you personally.
  15. I don't need to re-read. This isn't my first go around with this particular dog and pony show discussion (to mod or not to mod). When it comes to mesh clothing, I have very little choice but to buy no mod. No, I don't like it and there isn't anything anyone can say or do to change my mind about it. I'm too used to being able to tweak things to fit my personality and/or needs. Once upon a time (2005) I made homes that were no mod/no trans because I didn't want people messing up my work or giving it away for free to friends. After talking with other creators and customers, I soon realized the error of my ways. It's not about what the creator wants, especially since there is no stopping copybotting. It's about what the customer needs. How many times has anyone purchased something because what they needed didn't exist, but they could mod it to fit their needs? Have you never purchased something that wasn't exactly what you needed but you knew you could mod it to fit those needs when there was nothing else on the grid that would work? Even you are adding walls to Linden Homes to mod them to your liking/needs. For me, the bottom line is, if it's copy/mod/no trans, I'll buy it. If it's no mod, I'll either keep looking or change my plans but I will NOT buy no mod items. That will not change. Creators who don't think others should have the ability (or talent) to mod items are doing their customers a disservice and outright insulting them.
  16. That's not how I read the question. The question is asking about the difficulty of stating reasons for making a product no mod. Information that could be included in a notecard or on the ad that is usually the texture used on a box of any nature, including 1 prim vendors. I don't see where it is asking for creators to post their reasons why in the thread.
  17. Remember the MystiTool? The "tool" I used was similar. Back then, there were several active, shall we say, griefer groups, that were (more or less) terrorizing the grid. While the worst of those never bothered us, we still had to deal with a lot of griefers. So, we used those and they had a "shield" that supposedly would also keep people from inspecting. We didn't use the tool for that reason though. It was just a "bonus" you could say. Never encountered any stores that banned me for using one. But then I tend not to abuse people and things. I want them to be around for a long time.
  18. Hmm. I used one for a short time but I've never bought/worn copybotted items and never copybotted anything. I wasn't the only one either.
  19. People were doing that long before LL introduced mesh. No, they weren't uploading it to SL since SL didn't have mesh per se. That's not my point. The point is mesh objects were being stolen long before LL introduced a method of uploading mesh to SL.
  20. It's been 2 months since you posted. I hope all is well with you. You are missed.
