That, too. I probably should have mentioned that this was back before mesh bodies existed. -
Does SL consist of multiple parallel universes?
Selene Gregoire replied to Resi Pfeffer's topic in General Discussion Forum
That doesn't always work. I keep mine set at home. There were times when something went really wrong and even my home sim would be down so when I would log back in, regardless of my dressed state, it would automatically log me in at a "safe" hub, stark naked. No, it was not funny because with all the crap, it took forever for things to load well enough to be able to tp home. It was extremely embarrassing for me. -

How many ways to earn lindens?

Much easier said than actually done. Not everyone has the talent needed to create mesh. And I just posted in a necroed thread. -
teleport down?
Selene Gregoire replied to Darcy Kingmaker's topic in General Second Life Tech Discussion
I was experiencing teleport timeout disconnects just a couple of days ago. It lasted two/three days and hasn't happened since day before yesterday. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ETA: Forgot to mention I'm still on FS (64) 5.1.7.55786 -

You said it, not me. There are times though, when it is a good thing to throw a "hissy fit" to bring about change. That's how some laws in the US got changed. An example of that would be segregation. -
I'm one of "those people" who don't bother to log out every time I have to use the bathroom, get a drink, talk with the other half about life in general (which is far more important than anything in SL), answer the phone, feed the cat, comb the cat, make dinner, and a myriad of other things. If someone has a problem with that, it's on them, not me. They can have a say when they pay my bills for me with their money.

Remove Gacha from the Marketplace
Selene Gregoire replied to bbkeh's topic in General Discussion Forum
No, it means LL compromised so that everyone got a little something out of it rather than a few getting everything they wanted while the majority didn't get anything. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. -
Remove Gacha from the Marketplace

Try checking the copy filter and then click the Refine Search button. That will eliminate most, if not all, gachas. Checking copy and mod will eliminate all of them. -

Are you saying that you think I was being overly sensitive or was seeking attention in the wrong way? That isn't how it went down. -

More or less. I think it has more to do with maturity level. The less mature a person is, the more likely they are to throw a hissy fit over everything and nothing. Perhaps because they can't change it but they know it needs to change so they raise hell to draw attention to the problem. Who knows for sure? Humans are strange. -
Why do people support sellers that do no mod?
Selene Gregoire replied to WingalingDragon's topic in General Discussion Forum
I don't complain to the merchant either unless you consider my participating in a discussion about it on a forum as complaining (I don't think you do), I just don't buy it. I look for something comparable before buying no mod. More often than not I find something better that is mod and cheaper. I do the same, usually. Yes, I know. Yet customers ask creators for mod versions of no mod all the time and quite often get the mod. -

Thank you. Keeping it in mind is all I ask. I am all too aware that people from outside the US are not always knowledgeable about such things. That's why I asked if you were aware. Some stereotypes don't carry the same amount of stigma that others do. But, each one is used, at some point, to ridicule and keep indigenous people "in their place". -

No it is not beside the issue. It's a part of it. That old permissions bug is still around. LL has improved it but they have not completely eliminated it. -
Why do people support sellers that do no mod?

Don't get me wrong. I do like the shadows. The problem is they add more LI to the item that creates an additional limit that squelches my creativity. In my book, that's not a good thing to do. Squelching another's creativity. And it's not even being done in the name of "moving up the corporate ladder". It's not a good thing when one artist squelches another artist's creativity. -

Not always. There have been times when I bought something that was supposed to be mod but was no mod. Like the curtains I bought just a day or two ago. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/EV-CURTAINS-LIGHTS/10604323 -
Why do people support sellers that do no mod?
Selene Gregoire replied to WingalingDragon's topic in General Discussion Forum
All of which is on the customer, not the creator. Having to deal with people who don't know what they are doing is part of owning a retail business in SL and RL. One of the completely unneccesary and LI increasing things done by furniture creators that I am constantly having to remove to reduce LI are freaking shadows. Some pieces even have two shadows, one floor, one wall for an additional 1-2 LI. That adds up pretty darn quick. Especially when the prim allowance is low. I had to move recently because 40 prims just was not enough and 75 really isn't either. At least I can use the items I've purchased because they were mod and I was able to remove the shadows. Those items that are no mod aren't being used, which is no skin off the creator's nose since they already got their money. They aren't the ones left holding the bag. -

It could be considered as such, if it was done in anger. It's the angry part that makes it a hissy fit aka tantrum. -

I understand. Apology accepted. Please, try not to do that again. A better word is regalia.
