LL could have gotten it wrong and it wouldn't have been the first time. Not with just GDPR. They've screwed up their own (SL) ToS so badly a time or two that they've had to consult with their attorneys and re-write portions of the ToS which we, of course, have to accept all over again... and again... and again. I've never seen any company, game or otherwise, change their ToS as often as LL does and do it in such a way that it causes a huge uproar. They never do learn. After 16 years, they never will.

This started happening to me about 3 or 4 days ago. They'll even pop back up as unread 24 hours later. Some that have popped back up were days old. Either someone has been poking around in the forum db or the forum db is getting corrupted. Clicking on 'view all notifications' at the bottom of the list seems to unbold them all permanently. Doing that shouldn't be necessary.

That's because LL turned the feature that allows us to delete posts OFF. Multiquote works fine.

With the recent hike in fees and premium do you really think LL has the money to spare for a hairbrained idea like this? They're not going to go to the additional expense of hiring new employees for this and they are already shorthanded. They've been shorthanded since the big lay off a few years ago and they have no intentions of changing that. It's more fun to watch us dance like puppets for them. And yes, Linden Research dba Linden Lab, I am going to keep poking at you until you finally get your sheet together. Because I do care. If I didn't I wouldn't bother speaking up.

I have the feeling what they are up to on small balances will be to, as you put it, suck up the balance so that the account zeros out and there is no balance to forward. This is where things get sticky. According to LL it isn't real money yet so they can do what they want with it. According to the feds, it is real money. That's one of the things they have to try to do what they call "balancing" on. It's the old CYA. In more ways than one.

That's not what I had in mind. Carrying small balances over is an expense and not a small one. You have to pay the accountant (they are expensive) or if in house, the employee and if in house, you're also paying worker's comp taxes, (un)employment taxes, payroll taxes, and one or two others I'm not thinking of at the moment. Carrying small balances adds up to a good sized loss over a year's time. Those balances have to be carried forward every month.

That's not what I asked. lol I've had mainland before as well as a homestead and rented on estate land so yeah... I know how it works. I just hadn't seen anyone mention First Land in a long time and wondered if it still existed. Mine was in No and between myself and my RL other half we ended up with most of the region. That's when war with Anshe broke out. lol No was at the world's end. Literally. You should have seen how far that dropoff was down to the water. LL goofed somehow and all the sims on that edge... well... it was one loooooong, very high cliff. That was in 2005 or 2006. And Anshe wanted the region. She didn't get it because we sold to another land baron when she wouldn't call her dogs off.

Whoa whoa whoa, back that horse up here a minute. So now you can only get a Linden home, you can no longer get just the 512 or 1024, whichever it is now? *sighs* There goes my last reason to have a premium account. Premium is pretty much pointless for me, now, since what I had planned was to get a bit of land so I'd have somewhere people can see my builds before buying them. LL really should be in the rug business, they're so good at yanking them out from under me.

You must have been in a completely different SL from the one I was in. There were no "premium" accounts back then. Everyone had to pay to be in SL. There were lifetime accounts, though, but most people couldn't or wouldn't plop down a few hundred bucks for one and they were only offered for a short period of time, never to be seen or heard from again. As for not buying things in SL... Every day I deal with the frustration of not having the Ls I need for the things I need to buy for my builds. Every. Single. Day. I haven't given up. Not going to either. I love building too much.

All too true. And it's been that way for over 10 years. That's why I don't expect it will ever change and small businesses will always suffer for it. Just like in real life.

I don't ever see anyone because everyone else isn't on SLT and I am. I only thought the grass was greener on the SLT side when I moved from CST. I wasn't asking though. I thought about suggesting but knew the answer would be no, as it always is. No matter. I'll just go back to not going to events because they're always held at times that are not good for me. *shrugs* It's kind of pathetic really since I came to SL so I wouldn't be alone so much and I end up being alone all the time in SL. The sad thing is, I'm the only one that cares.

Well... other than I don't do pixel sex, that's another reason not to go to places like that. I do understand the reasoning behind it and that it is necessary for that type of venue. I just won't ever be a customer at any place that has mandatory tipping or charges you just to enter the parcel when it's a freaking store not a bar! Other than that I just don't like being nickle and dimed to death.

Holding an event at 9am SLT is too early for a Sunday. All too often people forget that some of us actually do live in the same time zone as SLT. Not saying that you have, just that some don't stop to think about that. I thought about suggesting moving it up to 10am but then it would be more of a brunch than a breakfast.

You enforce mandatory tipping?

The main reason is it keeps out the griefers that create alt after alt after alt after alt just to harass people. Those alts (not all alts!) are always new accounts, which is why I have FS alert me whenever an avatar less than 7 days old comes within radar range.

The main thing is the ID needs to be issued by your government at what ever level of government issues one. In the US that means state or federal such as military ID (federal), police ID (state), driver's license (state), etc. A photo ID issued by a government agency. If a country does not issue a photo ID at a federal, state or local government level then poeple need to contact LL to find out what documentation they (the people, not LL) can obtain that will satisfy the legal requirements LL claims they must meet.

Other than having to sign what most people believe to be an iron clad legally binding contract that they have no use for? Why agree to the terms of a service you aren't going to be using? By their own words Tilia is a subsidiary which means it operates as a completely separate business entity. Who in their right minds would sign a contract with a company they aren't/don't/won't be doing business with? Frankly, it is not an intelligent thing to do, legally.
